AG’s report findings stink-FFTUZ

The Federation for Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) has described the findings in the Auditor General’s reports as stinking.
FFTUZ vice president,Charles Phiri says though the Auditor General’s reports are perfectly done, the fact that government has adamantly shown no willingness to act on them makes them rotten and stinking.
Mr. Phiri says it is not right for government to ignore what the report has highlighted and still claim to be committed to fighting corruption.
He says ordinary Zambians are bearing the brunt of corruption because of lack of political will on the part of government.

He accused the MMD government of abetting corruption and allowing the misappropriation of public funds to continue by failing to take action against erring public officers.

Mr Phiri said culprits named in the Auditor General’s reports have been left to continue roaming the streets and walk around as free men at the expense of the many poor Zambians who are struggling to meet the little basic needs for their families.
He has since challenged government to take keen interest in addressing the issues that were exposed in the Auditor General’s report.

  1. Is it the AG’s Report that stinks? or is it government’s inaction on the report that stinks?

  2. Mr Phiri cool down. Use of ‘heavy duty’ words imotionally does not help your cause.

  3. ”Mr Phiri said culprits named in the Auditor General’s reports have been left to continue roaming the streets and walk around as free men”.
Arrest them.kwaliba citizens arrest, ba Phiri wesu.

  4. It’s the ineptness of senior Gov’t officials and the failure to take appropriate disciplinary action against civil servants that have misappropriated public funds that stinks. The AG’s report has raised important contentious issues and showing a blind eye [Perpetual studying of these reports] does not help in any way.

  5. Phiri, tekanya, you rightly recognize the AGs findings, so hit out at the PIG, MMD & it’s govt who have again taken us for granted becoz we are so docile!!!

  6. Zambia is indeed a confusing Country, we had the so called PF controlled councils audit, at least we saw our head state lambast the fellows on how they had missapplied funds by paying the workers their salary arrears and exploiting the masses by overcharging on rates. Now we have a full Audit Report ,it is total silence, we even have time to rest and watch bola in RSA

  7. If RB and his MMD people really mean to stump out corruption, they would start with the following up AG reports and acting swiftly to punish the guilty.

We don’t even hear of anyone losing their job. Its just business as usual. Its what convinces me that this MMD government itself is run by mostly corrupt individuals themselves. Corruption is the fuels that runs the merciless machine called MMD.
