Poll date timely, Lubinda

Share

Former Kabwata Member of parliament (MP) Given Lubinda has described the announcement of the election date as timely.

He since called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to quickly announce the date for the nominations.

Mr. Lubinda, who is Patriotic Front chairman for local government and housing, says political parties should know when the nominations will take place.

He says the PF has been ready for the elections since September 2008 and that yesterday’s announcement will only make the party to put its preparations for the elections in top gear.

The former Kabwata MP says his party is geared to deliver change as desired by the majority Zambians.

Mr. Lubinda has since urged Zambians to participate in elections by turning up in numbers to cast their votes.

  1. “He says the PF has been ready for the elections since September 2008 and that yesterday’s announcement will only make the party to put its preparations for the elections in top gear.” end quote.

How can you be ready when you don’t even have a parliament candidate list? I think you guys in PF are just trying to save face. You have been caught napping.

  2. Ready since 2008? Really? I wonder what pf would have behaved like if RB had given a day’s notice to hold election? Give us a break PLEASE!

  3. No one has caught PF napping. It would have been wrong to lease a list of MP’s to contest when parliament was still seating. What MMD did was wrong but as usual they thought they will catch the opposition un aware and shorten the campaign period. PF is already thu with the convention hence was ready for the elections. It’s Miyanda, Siulapwa and Magande’s party that are caught napping. PF is ready for the elections. RB must be sent parking. But to where? Gwada Zimbabwe, Malawi or where????

  4. Mr. Capitalist – 3 E’s steering economic growth or Never Mumba what u are doing in Canada now just know that your time has come to stop making comments without sense. Thanks for ur service u need to go back in Zambia your Church is waiting for u.

  5. Sorry correction on No. 7 above

No one has caught PF napping. It would have been wrong to publish a list of MP’s to contest when parliament was still in session. What MMD did was wrong but as usual they thought they will catch the opposition un aware and have shortend the campaign period. PF is already it’s been thru with the convention hence was more than ready for the elections. It’s One Man Miyanda, Siulapwa and Magande’s party that are caught napping. PF & UPND are ready for the elections. RB must be sent parking. But to where? Gwada Zimbabwe, Malawi or where????

  6. @ #8 PACT PRESIDENT 2011

You can call me whatever you want, the fact remains PF is ill prepared for these elections and they’ll lose for the 4th time. RB and the MMD will be back in Govt after September 20th 2011.

  7. mr captalist kansh you know that hh cannot make it to plot one.kanshi naukula boy you are even able to make a good analys

    • Mr Capitalist has been consistent. We give the capitalist the respect! The wise can see the light. Education is important. I think we can all smell the coffee!!

  8. We all elections will be held this year! Why the hype? Do you need to announce you were ready? Continue confusing you blind followers with your semantics! Good for nothing plot thieves!

  9. May I ask one question.Where is Given Lubinda going to contest its strongly rumoured that he may not recontest Kabwata seat. Where is this mulato going to stand? Lubinda should account for development that he brought to Kabwata constituency before urguing voters to be ready and turn up in big numbers.

    • If u knew the meaning of the word mulatto ú would not use it that carelessly. By colonial standards u are a mulatto too. The world mulatto comes from the word mule, which is half donkey and half horse´. That was the name they called all u niggers on the slave plantation… Mulatto in its dimunitive form implies those coloureds u refer to, meaning little mules…

  10. Lubinda has already seen that his party is destined for heavy defeat that is why he refused to go and stand in western province. I still dought whether he will retain kabwata seat in Lusaka this time around, copperbelt yes PF will win but slim margin,,,MMD and PF are consuling each other in these elections. Believe me or not,, They will just leave HH laughing all the way to the state house.!

  11. Mpangula Mputyu,

I hope you have a substantive position within the PF ranks. Zambia needs opposition, although, I am concerned that the PF will fall apart after these elections. The people in it have no shared vision or ideology. They are all there for jobs some of them having been fired from GRZ for incompetence or defalcation.

Please do not fool yourself. PF is NOT, and I repeat, NOT going to form the next government. If only because it is difficult to unseat an incumbent government in Zambia.

And if you care to open your eyes you can easily see that MMD have done a number on Mr. Sata. Underestimate MMD and the Zambian people at your peril. Look at what Mr. Sata said today. At least he lightens the burden with his unintended comedy.

  12. Mpangula Mputyu

Another thing. Mr. Sata must start telling people what he is going to do on the economic front.

Perhaps you could begin right here on LT. What is it he is going to do? Not the 90 days drivel. PLEASE.

This year’s election is about the economy and although the MMD took the country to hell with SAP and all they have in the recent past under LPM (MHSRIP) and RB gained momentum. And this is selling to the Zambains.

Also even if FTJ had his faults you have to be most heartless not to attend his funeral. Sata and FTJ were buddies.

Most Zambians are seeing all this and are questioning the man’s wisdom.

    Bon weekend, monsieur.

  13. Its interesting more especially when you anticipate too much and lose, lets just wait for 20th september wina azalila

  14. Given Lubinda held political sway in Kabwata costituency because there were no credible opponents then. The voters in Kabwata had to settle for a frog because they were forced to swallow the only available diet. It was then a case of “MOYENDA MU-CHAWA ANADYA NKUMBA”. This time around Lubinda will face an intellectual in the name of Dr. Machungwa. Taking into account the manner in which PF mismanaged the illegal allocation of plots in Lusaka under the supersion of senior members of PF – Lubinda included – the Kabwata seat will certainly go to the morally credible candidate. Interesting political landscape.

    • Dr. Machungwa an intellectual!#&*+? Could you please point me to Machungwa’s publication list (peer reviewed) and what makes him a ‘morally credible candidate’? Where has he been standing the last few elections and why hasn’t he gone back? Imbecile!

  15. If we have pipo like lubinda, who is HH the next govt will be an example in southern africa , wina azalili road projects have come to a stand still

  16. Yes mmd has done the home work . People can see what rb has done . Inflation down , tarred roads ,new schools , new hospitals , create employment in mines ,ministries of health and education, bringing health facilities and services crosser to the people the list is endless . So mmd has no problem in selling its self to the electorates . Viva rb viva mmd

  17. Exacly what Sata was supposed to say! But of course, our general Kanene always says things in his own way. No wonder he only suits in the opposition.

  18. What do you make of someone sweeping their house, white washing the fence and new curtains in the house just because they are receiving an important guest? I think they call it window dressing, and thats what RB is doing! *****s like @26 Sajent and @23 DS Malama should get their heads out of their asses long enough to smell something other than the shit they feeding on! I am wholly supportive of development but it has to be responsible and responsive to the needs of the citizenry. Breaking ground on cement factory and Icipe mine which have no approved EIAs is illegal but then why would the president care if you don’t care as long as he has a billboard saying your government at work! I used to see *****s like you all over lusaka, sebana wikute ikatulikila kumalushi!

  19. People of zambia open yo eyes please, which jobs has RB created in the mines ? i work for the mines myself and the jobs have always been there what we dont want is a government that goes to sleep and only wakes up during elections all these hasty and unplanned developments have come about cos its election year but where was RB and the MMD all these years? This year we are voting for a working party that will form a working govt that will deliver genuine development not mobile hospitals chapwa.

  20. bo Lubinda is around? what happened to being spokesman for PF? dribbled or discarded? Sata takwato uluse ka???? finishing a young and promising ppolitician.

  21. Those who have had a cut of pie are worried about MMD going. Whether they win or lose are a bunch of arrogant money mongers. Am ashamed of those die hard MMD Supporters. No matter how many time they step in mud or sleep hungry but bcos of mosi, they can do anything to support. Any way thank u to ve shallow minds of MMD suppoters bcos it is the frame of reference to poor decisions in managing our country.
