Weekend Scorecard: Kabole Dodges Mazembe Prospects

Power Dynamos coach Fordson Kabole has said he knows very little about the form and state of their 2012 Caf Champions League opponents TP Mazembe.

The DR Congo giants will visit Kitwe on March 24 to face Power at Arthur Davies Stadium in a Champions League first round, first leg game.

“I haven’t watched TP Mazembe play this season but we played against TP two season ago here in a friendly so we drew so that’s all I know about TP Mazembe,” Kabole said.

Mazembe are regular visitors to the Copperbelt where they hold perennial pre-season training camps in Kitwe.

The game will even be all so more interesting because of the eight Zambian players at Mazembe with five alone being integral players in Zambia’s 2012 Africa Cup triumph in Gabon on February 12.

Meanwhile in other news, Faz says they will on Tuesday announce the final list of successful candidates for the elective 2012 Faz annual general meeting to be held at Moba Hotel in Kitwe on March 31.

Faz communications officer Erick Mwanza told ZNBC Sports news that 53 candidates had filed in their nomination papers for the nine FAZ executive committee positions.

  1. Kabole here comes Kalaba. U are in trouble. Im Zambian but this time supporting TP Mazambe. They have eight Zambians in their ranks, top quality players that make more than 1/2 the Chipolopolo Team. Then there is Tresor Mputu and kalyiaituka. Power90 u are in real deep deep trouble.

  2. In football everything is possible. Ba Kabole dont be intimidated with those names football is played on the pitch not with names. its 11 against 11 and most of these zambian players playing in TP are well known so just prepare with an open mind and let the dont kubeba spirit cathc with power, we need you guys to proceed to the next round, this is our year not as tp mazembe but as Zambians esp in terms of football. go for it big man.

  3. power please do another donchi kutina move. chipolopolo did it, esther phiri did it so you can also DID it too

  4. So the Kabole/Chambeshi coaching feud haz been straightened, and like I had correctly intimated, 1Fordson iz the man at the helm. Will be difficult for local fanz to cheer when the two teamz meet; will want Power to win of course, while at the same time wish the Zambianz with TPM to succeed, I don’t know.

  5. Names and status do not play the game people do….A good exampla will be Zambia vs Ivory Coast. We are Power Dynamos, playing good soccer and winning is what we do. I bleed Red, White and Yellow!
