Chipolopolo Players Keeping Fit With Zanaco

Zanaco coach Keagan Mumba says the Zambia national team players who have come through to keep fit with them have brought a positive attitude to his team.

A number of foreign-based Zambia players have been keeping fit while off-season at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

Isaac Chansa, Christopher Katongo and Stopilla Sunzu have all been spending time off with Zanaco training.

“Christopher Katongo and Stopilla have been training with us to keep fit,” Mumba said.

“It is good for us because it is inspiring our players.”

Midfielders William Njobvu and Chisamba Lungu have also spent time training with Zanaco.

  1. Chris Katongo is better off staying there for good with ZANACO as he will playing for the less competitive Chinese 2nd division……any other FA would have pulled him as side and urged him to play in a more competitive league if he wants to hang on to the captain’s armband….if it means him taking a pay-cut so be it or just retire voluntarily from international football.
There is too many favourites in that team, no competition leads to complacency.

    • I don’t think Zanaco will pay him as well as the Chinese and besides the quality of life is better in China so he enjoy his money there!

  2. Let them all join Zanaco permanently. Thats where they belong as they are all finished especially Chris.

  3. Stophilla, Isnt he supposed to be at TP Mazembe. Katumbi said they even paid him his salary.

What is he doing at Zanaco?

Good question.. TM has started their season and all players are reported to have returned to their teams after Afco.. Last we and in BBC sport I read that Sunzu has resolved his problems in January transfer.. Him TRAINING at Zanaco WHY?????????

  5. Sunzu is done, he failed to negotiate for a transfer to READING , through Katumbi because he went with his GF and Dad for negotiation, What the hell on earth does one go with Dad and A GF to talk about employment???? I hope he can use this chance at ZANACO to study English, because at READING they want people who have READ before , thus how the name came about

  6. stop chriticising these players! zambians, yes they forget easily that these were the Afcon winners last year and you bought all the beer in town. now the story has changed, is it because we were eliminated in the first round? zambians indeed!!!!
