Today’s Message: Focus on What You Have

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage.”
(Ecclesiastes 5:18, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

The scripture talks about how God has given us the power to enjoy what is allotted to us. That simply means another person doesn’t have the power to enjoy your life. You may have more success, more money, more friends and a better job, but if you put another person in your life, they are not going to enjoy it like you. We are each uniquely designed to run our own race.

When we truly understand and embrace this, we won’t be tempted to compare or wish we had what someone else has. You won’t think, “If only I had their talent…” No, if God wanted you to have that talent, He would have given it to you. Instead, take what you have and develop it. Make the most of it. Don’t think, “If only I had her looks…” No, God gave you your looks. That’s not an accident. The life you have has been perfectly matched for you.

Now, you’ve got to do your part and get excited about your life. Be excited about who you are — your looks, your talent, your ability, your personality. When you’re passionate about who you are, it brings honor to God. That’s when God will breathe in your direction and the seeds of greatness in you will take root and begin to flourish!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, I thank You for giving me the gifts, talents and abilities to enjoy life and accomplish Your will. Today I choose to put my trust and hope in You knowing that You have equipped me for the destiny You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

      75% of prisoners are Christian.

    • You have not told us what offences they had committed.May be they had spoken against the evils of the Govt.Do you know that a righteous person is likely to be targeted than an evil person. This is the work of the enemy Satan. Some may claim to be Christians yet they are not.

  1. We pray for our country and the upcoming election that leadership may not fall in the wrong hands that are driven by violence and greed

    • One of the most foolish beliefs i keep hearing is when something good happens people thank god and when something bad happens they say god is testing them! People have this mindset. If they see something too complicated and dont understand it they assume its god’s work. This happens more in the case of natural phenomenon or calamity because they cant control it. If they cant control something it doesnt mean it is controlled by god. Its just that we r not that powerful yet.
A prayer is for those who want to keep false hopes. Hope on but dont blame your god for not doing something about it. He will stay neutral. Its people that will serve you.

    • Man Has Asked His Church To Return His Tithes Or Face Court Action – Religion
Churches promise their members financial prosperity if they tithe. They also promise that no devourer shall affect their finances. In the case of this man the financial prosperity promise did not materialise, his finances got devoured and the church even refused to do it’s primary responsibility of bringing succour to down trodden members. I believe he has a very good case, he should go ahead and sue. Hopefully he would win the case and other tithe scammers would learn from it.

    • The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.Psalm 125:3

    • If people accept that there is no giant omnipotent being who will step in at the last minute and fix things then it puts the accountability on people, rather than some imaginary god.

It’s up to you and me, not ‘Yeshua and the god, that is never there to change this world for the better. Because we exist, they don’t.

  2. Amen. Indeed we are are differently made and we see things differently. Let’s appreciate one another’s views in this time of political elections and beyond

    . God bless you all.

    • Do you expect children to keep believing in Santa Claus, even after they leave home & have their own kids? This is just pointing out that in the real world, where we base things on facts & evidence, there is no imaginary friend in the sky. Believing in one doesn’t make it so, and you’d be better off if you gave up your illusions and joined the reality-based community. But if you wish to keep on being delusional and confused, that’s up to you.

    • Religion has been the cause of more war, death, abuse, segregation, violence and terror than anything else in the entire course of human history. For the sake of ‘My invisible friend is better than yours’, this planet has fought tirelessly for thousands of years. The sooner religion becomes the fatality, the better.

  3. Thank you heavenly father for all what you have for us.We pray for the nation of ZAMBIA as we approach the elections next month. We pray for peace to prevail in Jesus name,Amen

    • Mark Twain penned a remarkable description of what heaven must be like in his “Letters from the Earth”. It will make you smile. He talks about how people can barely stand being in church for one hour a week, but gleefully look forward to an eternity of the same kind of crap.

  4. Good topic. Yes, in this gigantic universe that he created, God has given me the power to enjoy what is allotted to me. The depth of meaning in this topic abounds.
