My Son was not involved in the importation of GMO Maize, RB

Share

President Rupiah Banda has dismissed media reports suggesting that his son Henry, was involved in the recent importation of the banned Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) Maize from South Africa.

Mr. Banda said although his sons have a right to participate and bid for any business, Henry had nothing to do with the imported GMO maize.

And President Banda said government will determine whether the GMO maize should be milled at the border post or returned to South Africa.

He said Vice President George Kunda and other ministers will determine the fate of the imported GMO maize impounded at some border post.

President Banda challenged Zambians to re-open debate on possible consumption of GMO maize meal as the case is in some countries.

Mr. Banda however, cautioned the country to be weary of the devastating effects of GMOs on seed banks.

He was responding to journalists at the Lusaka International Airport shortly before departure to Tanzania for a two day official visit.

A daily tabloid’s Saturday edition carried a story linking the President’s son to the recently intercepted GMO maize.

Meanwhile, President Banda has warned that he will not tolerate indiscipline as he takes charge of the MMD.

Mr. Banda who was on Saturday elected Acting MMD president said discipline is cardinal in any organisation particularly political parties.

The President disclosed that he will this week begin strategising on how best to strengthen the ruling party ahead of the 2011 General elections.

He said asertions that the MMD is deeply divided are wishful thinking by political opponents.

Mr. Banda will be in Tanzania for talks with his counterpart Jakaya Kikwete before proceeding to Malawi for similar engagements with President Bingu Wa Mutharika.

The President is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Pande, Communications and Transport Minister Dora Siliya and other senior government officials.

  8. There is no smoke without fire!!!! Why shouldnt the importation of GMO have waited until after Zambians debated and decided otherwise before we could be subject to this suspicious imported product?

  9. Nyama Soya is corrupt this is what Sata and the Post were saying. Ba ngwele still voted for him. Misango shaku NAMBOARD

  10. ‘Mr. Banda however, cautioned the country to be weary of the devastating effects of GMOs on seed banks.’

wat does bwezani mean by this?

  11. Honestly why should the so called president speak for his son. Henure as eastner pronous henry, should speak for himself. Mr president I find you quilty, why reopen the GMO debate today ? So that Henure can start supplying GMO ? How many tones does he have ,ready to be forced on Zambians throat? LP closed this debate and to remind you, sir he evn went further sending scientists to America for further research. NO GMO ! [-x[-x

  12. How will the GMO maize be milled at the border ? How practical and possible, are we going to send hammer mills there ? Ba Zambia, we being cheated again….that GMO maize may be is already in the country.

  17. There is nothing wrong with consumption of GMO foods if the maize entry does not turn into seed maize whichh could mess our agriculture system.I challenge anybody here scientifically to explain what is wrong with GMO food when here in the west that is what we eat.The US is the major producer of GMO foods.Supermarket chains and restaurants are all ladden with GMO foods.Chcken is grown in 7 days,Corn we eat is GMO,eggs are developed in 3 days.

  18. Yaba amano ububi!!! why should ba President defend the Son!!

    My Weekend was great thanks.

Yesterday watched Bundesliga (Bayer Munich and Dortmund) 3:1

    Was a great game.

Iwe this Henry has money in the Bank! The Bank is not even in Zambia beleive me. Somewhere ku Bemuda Islands uko!! 😕

  20. This might only be the beginning of a series of scandals to come. It’s not surprising to me that things are going so bad so fast with RB as president. His leadership is not ticking, to say the least.

  21. To bad for RB. What is the law enforcements of Zed doing? Can you bring the people involved to book so that you can see how RB will break the law in trying to save his son. MMD cadres will very soon demonstrate in fever of that trash maize. Wait and see.

Zambian President has a target of visiting all the countries in the world before 2011! He is out of office every day.Even matters that can be discussed on phone is travelling out.

  22. The European Union through the Zambia Centre for inter-Party Dialogue ZCID gave the PF, UPND MMD and Miyanda K500million for the Presidential Campaigns in October 2008.

Mr. Sata put the money in his pocket and has not accounted for it up to now. Mumembe and his Post know this and have kept quiet.

The Secretary General of PF (very senior position) has resigned (after harassment) partly over this money. Mumembe and the post know this they have kept quiet.

I very much hope Henry Banda (he holds an MBA from the USA) will sue Mumembe because in Zambia all the POst has to do is start a rumour and all of us start insulting every one. Please know that the post is no longer impartial.

  29. 59. NKOLE WA MAPEMBWE,

Yes Henry Holds an MBA from here in Quantitative Finance. He has been running personal businesses for years since he retuned home many years ago.he cannot be compared to Castro Chiluba without Grade twelve certificate.Comparing Henry to Castro Chiluba is like comparing Dr.Waza kaunda to Castro.Apart from KK, RB is the only Zambian President with all children holding a minimum of Masters degree and all self employed entrepreneurs except the little ones with Tandiwe.Fred Mmembe on his way to calvary before 2011, is desperate to scandalise everything in RB.Produce evidence and a suit.

  30. My little man, your day is coming, I tell you And when it comes, just keep it running.Corruption has no children neither grand children.

  32. #59, I agree with you. The post has lost its credibility due to their overzealousness. Too many unwarranted insults and biased editorial comments based on malice and hidden agendas. That is not good for the nation. LT take up the challenge and report objectively with a clear analytical view on issues affecting the nation. You will soon have a wide readership base than the post.

  33. They say in politics, it is not true unless it has been denied. So if RB is quick to deny this story, it MUST be true that his son was involved. Investigate thoroughly.

  40. Why is RB travelling with Dora? I thought she is invoved in the Zamtel scandal which Henry was also involved? I thought he should have fired her by now but instead he is travelling with her. This Man is very uselss. Why did I support him?

  41. Mr Banda should learn to consult before talking on issues.
Why not send back the GMO maize? Which debate does he want put across on the consuption of GMO. Zambia is not any other country. It is a country on its own and it will not copy everything from other countries? Dr Mwanawasa was not stupit to reject GMOs without even putting accross debate for people to ague. WILL SOMEBODY TELL THAT DR MWANAWASA WAS STUPIT TO TAKE THAT DECISION?
The study on GMO is not complete.Scientists dont know the future effects of GMOs foods. You have the right to argue but am studying these things. YOU VOTED FOR MR MUWELE WELE WITH STUPIT ADVISERS.

I am not supporting anything wrong but I think you misplaced your facts. RB has very educated sons. They are all very independent. Not sure if Henry is involved. I guess we will know soon. Peace

  44. Pastor J- There’s only a prayer in the religion section 😕 Don’t let me start a thread there coz ine ndine kavundula when it comes to religious topics. Let me be polite now O:) O:) O:)

  45. that soft spoken tone where there’s is a rerious matter is very suspicious to the president. RB could have simply said he would investigate and inform the nation at a later time. Am confused that the president is indecisive even on serious matters involving a breach of conditions. the son is not involved, so who is involved? the president couldn’t make a decision whether the maize should be returned, burnt or consumed. He doen’t even know the effects of GMO. where are the advisors to RB? the president is INDECISIVE. people suspect that he is involved. RB clear yourself, tell the nation. GMO has very serious effects on human

  46. Rupiah, a former president is facing charges of plunder which means a precedent has been set. You will not be immune when crunch time comes. WAPYA MY FRIEND.

  47. “President Banda challenged Zambians to re-open debate on possible consumption of GMO maize meal as the case is in some countries.”
The debate is over and there is no need to continued with it. Someone said “let sleeping dogs lie” Mr President RB Banda. On your son Henry, let the various institutions deal with the case. If he is found wanting, let the law take its course.
Regarding your foreign trips always, please relax Mr President RB Banda. We understand vinabwela mochedwa vachizungu and you need to do ndacibonena nzi before your term as Zambian President ends, but please delegate some of those tours to Vice President G. Kunda.
Why are you visiting other Presidents when they don’t?

  48. # 10,

You are at risk of bruising your emotions.Try another front.Education of RB’s children is against you.The man has invested heavily in his children when he was a top Diplomat.Three of his sons attended US Ivy league schools. You talk of MIT were Kofi Anan went, and Yale. All of them hold Masters degrees and successful in business even after the father had long retired from Chiluba’s vindictive politics. He has beaten history as President with all children qualified to be technical experts. All RB’s children are schooled in high demand professional programs.they are super smart.

  49. i find it very interesting to pay attention to discuss GMO maize while production of free GMO maize is being deliberatly frustrated. is it because one will be the desired supplier, savior? what about NCZ revival?

  50. Imwe chi RB chalaonaula Zambia, Levy refused these GMO which were being given for free and yet this NYAMA SOYA says we should start considering consuming it, he can do that with his family. I feel sorry for my fellow Zambians still living in Zambia, worse still under NYAMA SOYA, God help mother Zambia.

  51. RB’s sons have been involved in maize marketing for over a decade? James through his father’s connections would even supply the malawian government tonnes of maize? do not forget that james is good friends with FRA big dog…Chance Kabhaye whatever his name is! RB will wipe us clean before he lives office! if you thought Kafupi was a plunderer…wait and see what will come out after 2011? the banda sons are hustlers, and now with their dad at the pilliar…who can stop them? nobody for now.

  52. #102 Chapi..I agree with u.ur information is correct & spot on.Anyone who read RB’s profile in the post a couple of years back knows that the man invested in the education of his children & they are all independently engaged in various sectors of business. But i notice u have taken strong exception 2 anything negative reprted about sum1 ignorant about RB’s son.So y r u so defensive?R u one of thoz of RB’s relatives in Washington i know about?Just curious…

  53. Ok, imwe. education achievements of the Bandas aside- ine ntinyako fye ilyashi lyama hips na amabele, please, for the sake of unnecessary GMO mammary glands, noooooooooo :(( :(( :((

  54. If RB’s Sons are best educated in Zambia (Which I doubt) did their father also discipline them?

Do they know what it means to be corrupt?

So RB invested in his son and this is what he gets?

    8->

Today you are not a Virgin ka? Awe chawama

  56. Mr 100 please let me tell you something very simple. you can have phd from havard uni, but its up to you to defend your degree that you are worth it. when you have high distinction degree and you come and import GMO for you people, are u telling us that some one understands even the basic world wide debate about GMO? debat at WTO, EU? the father is the president, can you tell me that some one understands even the basic ethical conducts surounding the family of the president? this is a misrepresentation of fact adressed to people mislead for intention to induce.

  57. Nine Chale, shani tata, muli che? Henry Banda is a disgrace to his father and to the nation. Why do these chaps become big headed when their parents are elected to presidency. Look at Panji Kaunda, Castrol Chiluba, Chilufya Sata…and now Henry.

  58. # 48. Chapi
With all that GMO you have eaten, you seem to be blindly supporting RBs sons. Because they hold ‘fyonyo..fyonyo’ degrees does not make them eligible to jump the que.
Stop licking arss and know that zambia has thousands of more educated guys who do not get the chance

  59. RB’s kids be careful, remember what happened to Castro Chiluba. let not your father’s 15 minutes of fame get into your heads.

  60. #132 Anonymous..They way i see it is no action will be taken against Dora Siliya..it’s all normal under the RB government..A lack of principled leaders 2 make a stand wen sumthin is wrong..Now with all these ZAMTEL/GMO/CHILDREN ISSUES cropping up let’s brace ourselves 4 an eventful teure in office by RB..I wonder what will come of it all!!

  61. #115 Chewe, abantu babili teti babe namano yaba chimo chine. That is why they are called individuals. So what has Chapi or whoever you call the wired professor done? And what have I done except holding a divergent view over PF and its cult leader MC Sata?

In a democracy, people are free to disagree and that is what drives socities forward. Hero worshipping cult leaders like Sata is actually very retrogressive. Have you forgotten how hero worshipping KK killed UNIP?

  62. This is very interesting thug life can make u brave. Henry, Dora na RB are not scared of the currentcourt cases involving former VIP citizens. It’s true dollar ilinachibanda. Infact let task force start with LPM whilst they warm up for major cases) Team n’ children.Pliz don’t involve Tandi …..

  63. PF/Sata Michael Chilufya, according to the POST Newspaper, said:

“If you take [Lusaka Province permanent secretary] Stephen Bwalya, how do you expect people from University of Zambia to get advice from Bwalya who was just a ng’wa ng’wazi [call boy]?” Sata asked. “He was my boy, I know him. Bwalya can’t even remember his signature twice. But that’s continuity for Rupiah. Continuity is for Rupiah to go and bring Bwalya, to go and bring [Luapula Province permanent secretary] Jazzman Chikwakwa. If he thinks Jazzman Chikwakwa will strengthen MMD in Luapula Province then he’s lying.”

How then does Undereducate Sata expect a UNZA graduate like me to support him and his PF, full of undereducates?

  64. # 142, did the cult leader Michael Chilufya Sata utter these words?
“If you take [Lusaka Province permanent secretary] Stephen Bwalya, how do you expect people from University of Zambia to get advice from Bwalya who was just a ng’wa ng’wazi [call boy]?” Sata asked. “He was my boy, I know him. Bwalya can’t even remember his signature twice”.

If he did, then we should keep them for he has eaten his own vomit. Surely, how does he expect me to support a senior ng’wa ng’wazi gonena for the position of the president of Zambia? Pure pipe dreams , but anyway it is his right to aspire for any position in a democracy except he will NEVER get my vote.

  65. I and I ancestors did nyam natural botanic maize & dem did live a long & healthy life.
Now de bigga heads waan fi bring in de genetically modified sunbstance fe mash up de whole nation! Rasta seh NO!

  66. #142. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe continued.

If Sata can write what he wrote “If you take … Stephen Bwalya, how do you expect people from University of Zambia to get advice from Bwalya who was just a ng’wa ng’wazi [call boy]?” Sata asked”, then a University of Zambia Graduate like me Mugungulu Hamwaambwa Mwaanga will not waste time supporting the Standard 4 or equivalently Grade 6 school drop out “ng’wa ng’wazi” London train station former sweeper bashikulu Michael Chilufya Sata.

Masters Degree holder President RB Banda and with his educated sons is worth receiving support from me in this instance than Undereducate Sata and his irresponsible Children following news events in Lusaka. Kwamana.

  67. 149 continued.

#147. The Intelligentia greetings. Here is the link to the POST NEWSPAPER where bashikulu Sata Michael Chilufya was quoted as having uttered those words:

    maravi.blogspot.c o m/ 2009/ 01/ corruption- fight- isnt- in-rupiahs -blood. h t m l

Enjoy yourself and keep well. Im continuing doing sensible stuff which will help take Zambia to higher heights for the moment until some useless character writes some nonsense again.

  68. Mistake Number 1 or 1,000,000 by RB. You dont defend your son in Public as if you are defending a minister. Suppose investigations prove to the contrary are you going to deny that you are a liar. Wait until everything is clear before you open your mounth in defense of children. :d:d:d:d:d:d

  69. #150 Maestro – Thanks for the information. Twalumba.

As for RB and his defence of his son, I think this was a very big mistake. It is called premature shielding of independent investigations or what the lawyers may call ‘trying to pervert the course of justice’. It is premature in the first place as no one has charged his son or even accused him in writing. Kachepa yayamba ba RB, have you forgotten how KK used to dance with Zambian Kachepa.

  70. #153. your flag The Intelligentia, you are very welcome. Also, I have already written as similar comment to yours in #100. your flag Maestro Hhehhehhehhe above.

Some other time fellow country people.

  71. THESE BOYZ ARE REALLY HUSTLERS, SOME DEALS CLD BE OKEY BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE COUNTRY PLIZ….HOW MANY ARE THEY BY THE WAY…AND WHICH ONE IS THIS HENRY, I THOUGHT HE ONLY HAD JAMES, ANDREW, THE ONE WITH THE BOYZ TEAM… NOW THERES MORE :((:((:((:((:((

  72. As we fight hunger, there is a need for leaders of all political parties to lead by example. RB and HH are known productive farmers. KK may be too old to engage in farming but he is doing some very good work with KKCAF. Now, how about Sata, Miyanda and Chiluba, who can tell me whether these people are productive in any way? Do they have farms, do they run any charities, or they just eat and shout? Chiluba has all the time in the world but I have never even heard of him planting a tree and neither has Sata or Miyanda. Do these people think food drops from heaven? They will talk about GMO and yet the cannot even grow a tomato.

  73. My concern relates to RB’s interest in the debate about GMO foods. This alone remains suspicious and interesting because some studies in the West are presenting the argument that, actually there is nothing wrong with GMOs…doh!! It is purely for this reason that RB wants the debate to work out the pros/cons. At the same time, his son is responsible for himself and the media needs to go after him to find out the truth. For Daddy to come to his rescue so prematurely, I can walk about and say, ‘I smell a rat’…!! :-w

  74. Looking at the many answers banda gives to the press,i can’t help but say he’s arrogant & naive,he thinks everyone is dull & that he is very smart. After Chiluba, this is the next former President who will be in trouble when he leaves office.
He’s saying his sons have the right to do business,ie bidding to supply to the govt etc but that is morally wrong, infact most modern nations don’t allow that obvious undue advantage over other supplies will be there. It is also folly for him to say debate should be there to see whether the ban on GMO’s shud be lifted,b4 it was banned, there must have been findings to cause the ban so he should shut his gob & concentrate on the crises affecting the nation.

  75. RB`s Children might be Educated if that is true but the fact is that they all have never worked in a Corporate organization. They have been haslers. All they do are deals and being middlemen? Maize deals, fertilizer deals etc. They all never even had cars. These chaps are involved. This is their life style. the life of deals.

  76. Am glad no one is supporting this zambian Judas Escarliot (Rhupia Bwezani Mabvuto) who want to take us to the early graves with his desgrantled sons, who are twice older than their mother. **==

  77. Too many scandals in our political parties especially MMD and PF, reader pause and reflect on the past two weeks happenings in Zambia…maize scandal, Zamtel deal, Mumbi (of PF)revelations. I know Maureen and Chewe will defend PF soon. Reader look in the faces of these defenders, can’t you weep if you see them?

  78. I also wish to commend our border service agents for their hard work,we may all think they don’t do any work but just from hassle importers but now we clearly see that it’s actually through checks that they stop such illegal imports & many others, even with the shortage of maize, the officers were alert & stopped the crap from entering our country.Let our people have proper maize not crap that’s gonna bring funny diseases we’ve never heard of in Zambia, scientists in developed countries play around with everything & want to test on poor nations,it’s high time we saved our dignity even when suffering.

  79. I totally agree with you Gigga, these kwangelas like testing on our health, no wonder our ladies are having children with 4 legs. **==**==**==

  80. Please advise the President that once a son or daughter reaches the age of 18, they are accountable for their actions as they do not need to consult the father or mother before making their professional or business or even social decisions. Therefore, RB talking about the son’e involvement is an irresponsible statement from a President. Only Kafupi used to shield his children but see what is happening to them without state power. RB, advise your sons to do business with other governments and not your government because that is corruption in itself. Forcing your appointees to give you business is corruption. I think this is clear. Henry or whoever should go out and get business in Nigeria.

  81. Four legs good two legs bad. Everything that walks on two legs is corrupt that is why churches abound to make people a bit good.

  82. Please education alone without its application means nothing. I have always advised people that an educated incompetent person is more dangerous than an illiterate one. However, if education is translated to mean what it is, to functionally applicable in transforming one’s attitudes and behaviour, then a genuinely educated person is more useful than a person like our illiterate Sata who wants to pretend to know what he doesn’t. Whether educated or not please do not apply for a job you cannot do as this is theft by trick. I recall someone writing about this after LPM died. Sata and co. just know what they can do and stay at that level instead of aspiring for things they can never do. The job

  83. MAY GOD SAVE ZAMBIA CHILUBA WAS RIGHT TO SAY WE ARE DOCILE NO WONDER RB CAN NOW CONVENIENTLY ASK US TO OPEN THE GMO DEBATE FOR THE SAKE OF SAVING HIS SON WHO BROKERED THIS MAIZE DEAL.

  84. One could be educated in the sense of having tertiary qualifications but still be morally bankrupt..So the issue shud not be about that chap being educated or not?We do net get anything from him anyway. But is he ehically & morally upright?Y shud he b getting undue advantage let him hussle elsewhere lest we have issues of corruption & other interest issues.Y shud the president b the 1 to say publicly that the son is not involved..This govt..tukomfwa ko..Awe sure!!

  85. tell rb(recycled banda) that rereading a boook does not change facts it only give u insite in how to manipulate the data.anyandule mukali kubweza ziko pansi tikubwezani naimwe

  86. Rupiah Banda, I thought you could learn from what is happening to FTJ. You will be the next former president to go to court. It is unfortunate that when you went to Mfuwe with your children, you were discussing how to steal money from our economy.
    No GMO maize in Zambia

Parliament, can you impeach this Banda criminal.

    Mwansekesha sana

I saw your reply on the other thread. I am happy you are now jovial following your declarations above. Does your name start with N and surmame with M, and did you go to sec sch starting with C? It seems I know you…

  88. Can someone please answer my question at #157. We need to be fair with each other and advise our elders like chiluba and Sata who think we are docile because we are not. We can also kick if the situation demands it ka. Has Chiluba forgotten how we stopped the third term nonsense? Didn’t he see how vigilant students ousted KK? The only thing we can never is behave like bakaboke at least I respect zambians for that. You toil and smile and are even prepared to go hungry and feed a stranger and Chiluba thinks that is dicility. How useless or mentally retarded can one be not to appreciate a genuine people!!

  89. Before i left my diplomatic post, I told Kafupi that you are making it difficult for yourself by surrounding yourself with ‘yes’ chaps and he shouted at me and said ‘old man you have gone too far’. Now who is better? Me or him? When I call him, he says bamundala, you have let me down, how have i let him down when I helped him with all my heart? Muchibemba batile ifyakulya ubushiku filamonekela ku malushi. No hatred for the young man Kafupi, he simply lost the leadership game, that is what we say in our diplomatic language.

  90. In the first place ,this Henry Banda is an adult. Why the whole entire president talk on his behalf in the ‘name’ of the ‘father?’?
This GMO maize has never been tested on animals why give it to humans in underdeveloped countries? probably they think its the best place to find dummies?
VP GK, dont waste time in deliberating this issue. Just send those truckloads back where ever they came from. No one knows the serious after effects of this GMO maize and why take the risks on your own people??

Grow your own maize…What has happened to the lima programme?**==:o

  91. The chickens are really coming home to roost. I smell corruption all over these guys. This man is always out of the country. Is he the president or is he an envoy to other countries?

  92. #157,
Even if these people mentioned in here had farms to grow chiwawa/kalembula/impwa , do you think the situation in Zedi could shift to a better hunger free status?
What I have discovered is that Zedian population has suddenly grown a dependency on fertiliser for all their farming. What happened to the type of farming our ancestors used before? the population too is growing and hence people are scrambling for better fertile land.Others, its just sheer laziness as people have fled to the cities, just to loam the streets.

  93. Fwe ba sambilila tatumona aba nensu kwati te bantu iyo. Bane, abansu abasha sambilila eba mona kwati, tulebabika panshi. Tefyo chaba iyo. Feel free baiche and discuss things openly. No inferiority complex and never fail to say sorry when you are proved wrong by your colleagues. None of us knows it all.

  94. NOT YOUR SON. BUT WHO? YOUR SONS ALSO HAVE STARTED JUST LIKE KK’s SONS ABUSED THEIR FATHER’S POSITION. WHAT NEXT SHOOTING OTHER MENS’ GIRL FRIENDS?

  95. #175,
Am glad too that you saw my reply on the other thread.
Unfortunately my name does not start with N. but starts with C. As Cutey is.. I never went to a school starting with C..
Sorry… probably I never went to school at all.. how about that???..LOL
Just happy to see that we are blogg friends again as probably I mis- interpreted your last sentence in that thread(cotton)..

These fires have really upset me this year. So many deaths….Poor Premier Brumby..

  96. These leaders of our have dementia or some power phobia that makes them think they have it all. It wasn’t long when Chiluba behaved like he owned Zambia. His sons and daughters did anything that pleased them. Where are they now?! Same thing with Levy and his cronies, what is left of them now? You see we fail to enforce laws and procedure that forbid these crooks to get away with it.
Who is Banda and his illiterate empire to lecture Zambia about GMO. The European Union has researched and have condemned this GMO, food that is not even fit for animal consumption. Why shouldn’t he be focusing on technology and ways of agricultural sustainability and food sufficiency? We don’t seem to learn and

  97. RB sure are u really keeping LMP Legacy? GMO is wat levy refused to come to Zambia. Levy was also against the idea of forming USA ( Africa) which u are supporting.Anyway u have failed us.

  98. If really the govt is open about giving tenders to supply commodities that the majority of the nation will be consuming. How come the govt never investigated the type of maize coming into Zambia? They sold proper maize to Zimbabwe and now they want to bring GMO.Ruphia is very much aware of this corruption. I wonder why few short sighted contributors on this blogg blame the Post for doing its job by reporting news wealth reporting to make the govt have balance & checks. RB should also reduce his perpetual trips to concentrate on solving the problems many zambians are facing. The money and cronies are misusing for trips can be used for meanful projects in health, education, and transportation.

  99. RB maybe educated but he is a clueless and corrupt leader of the current modern politics of prostitution that is taking Zambia beyond stone age.Can RB eat GMO Food and his family or he just want to make money with his family. How can Vice president become a law enforce agent to investigate GMO at the board when Banda’s son is part of the problem? 2: How can Kunda tell the nation the truth about who transported GMO when his boss’s finger are oiled with this scandle?
Where is the police, ACC, Agriculture sector, DC, and other bodies
familiar with food issues? To tell the nation the truth? RB Scandles in UNIP govt and in MMD, grow up and clean your acts Mbuya

  100. some of you are just shunning gmo food..do you even know what it is? this is what the western world feeds on……..and why not hunger striken country like zambia. don’t jusat follow afala ama politicians for nothing. ala fipuba !

  101. #192 Anonymous, no wonder when you talk about USA you mean BIG.(Fatties). Your language is that of I dont care. You are Zambian and its by chance that you are in USA where food is abundance but that doesnt mean Zambians could be subjected to GMO because of govt lack of visions and contigent plans in Agric. RB was selling fertilizer K50 pin from K250 just to buy votes from Villgers. This time no plans for agric input till november.Zambia is blessed with abundance of natural resources and shouldnt be hunger striken if good policies are in place and carried out effectively.

  102. We expected this from your president Banda. Scams started during his campaigns. The only decent son your Banda may have is Nenani Banda, the guy who runs Chaparamba Soccer academy, but how many times has he been involved in stories of selling young players?

  103. And where is the mother(s) of these sons of RB? Because that girl Tandiwe may only have a 12 year old first born.. at most.

  104. Abena Zambia, what is the retirement age? Look at America! One of the reasons Barak Obama won the elections, was because of his age as compared to the other one. But for you, someone over 70 HONESTLY! and now look! Please don’t mourn, yes! hes got a lot of people to please behind him a younger wife, sons, daughters, in laws, grandchildren e.t.c. We are watching.

  105. Don’t exaggerate Lupiya Banda’s children aren’t super smart. James Banda is a struggling a businessman it’s just business ya
( PAKAMWA ) he can’t even support his family.

Andrew Banda lived in Mandevu compound with his mother not so long ago he lived in Petauke & was unemployed for years. Years ago was arrested for failing to pay K5million UPND bailed him out.

Henry Banda couldn’t deal with hard working culture in the U.S. so he moved to South Africa years ago.

Nenani Banda I forget his name also lives in South Africa I don’t think he is very educated but he is involved in some sports.
All Banda’s children depend on their father financially because there are not successful.

  106. Guys when you read his sentences very carefully you will realise that Rb is for GMO. That is also why he say people should reconsider the debate on GMO this also is likely to mean his son is involved except he has used some friends not his name.Thats why he seems confident. Thats why he also says it should be milled in border areas. The fate is to be known. If he didnt want it like LPM did, the only thing is to say as other ministers earlier mentioned it should return.

It just a matter of time GMO will be accepted in Zambia before the end of this year.

President Banda challenged Zambians to re-open debate on possible consumption of GMO maize meal as the case is in some countries.

  107. #142

    Sorry I couldn`t resist a pop.

There is what is called saying/doing the right thing at a wrong time. Your obssession with the “undereducate” (a word not found in the Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary) makes you behave like one. 😉 What has this topic got to do with Sata?

Give success to an i d i o t to make them worse. Hope you read this in english please.

I have relatives back home who are not educated but really much wiser than people I have seen with various degrees on here.

  108. Passports dead line has been extended to 31 May 2009. Blimey gives me time to go and pay the passport officer when I go home on holiday in March.

You heard it first from me.

    :d

  109. #45 MAUREEN,even if your father became just a district governor and not commissioner today,he’ll scoop your disoriented uncle from the village and give a job in the council.so shut up!

  110. What does RB mean when he says the GMOs should be milled at the border post? Are they going to be processed into mealie meal at border posts and brought in Zambia or what? Twakana fwebena Zed!!! 😮

  111. Banda seem to be on quick mission to get rich. He is smelling of scandals with less than 6 months in Office. Ba Banda, You will face corruption charges come 2011. I can assure you that, Zambian hate corruption and We eont let you get away with it. You are UNPOPULAR president, just to finish LPM’s term!!!

  112. :)>- good morning!

There’s no smoke without fimo fimo. Why should anyone pick on Henry, of all people? Mwayambako!![-x

We are watching, ka? FTJ denied Regina. Where are they today?? Bliss, courts, More courts, etc..

  113. Please investgate this chap further. Post where are you? We need the truth, we are already fed up with lies and non perfomance of the leadership.

  114. Ba Moze mwashibukeni. Ilyashi lyama passports lyawama but why didn`t they say December 31?

Yes you are right. Look at my entry on #127

  115. #211 3RqU

Shani mani!! I have seen your post. Quite right. From nowhere ati niwebo? there is a kama connectiopn somewhere. Maybe he provided the transport, or the drivers, the sacks, the fuel, or the brown envelopes for the officials on the Zambian side. At least chimozi apa. 😕

  116. #215 Ba Moze

I have a a feeling utuma brown envelope limbi. 😕

Ba Moze is that the way you drive? may be ni ba mada benu. Just listening to traffic news on phoenix and someone phoned saying a woman “flying” has just jumped the red lights.

Another one for our government Ba Moze. Ask the government to put cameras on those traffic lights. If one jumps them, they get done by the camera simple.:d

  117. Ladies and gentlemen any Zambian is free to take part in government tenders as long as they meet the tender conditions, specifications or scope of works awarding a tender to any
person or firm away from the guide lines is tantamount to corruption, grand theft and should be dealt with according to the law with or without MBA’S

  118. RB,s children are everywhere now.Talk of supplying maize, the mines and all. They are educated and i think, they are cool guys. However, let them follow proper tender procedures and all in getting their deals. The undue advantage is obviously on their side. Its a catch 22 scenario for RB coz his children have always been in business, besides RB and them are thick mates. The best is to hook them up in a very surtle way.

  119. #59 you are an id.iot.you seem to be suffering from diarrhoea of the hand.If you analyse the story critically you will realise that nyama soya is trying by all means to legalise GMOs in Zambia so that the crap supplied by his son could be consumed by Zambians.Remember RB and the family wants to rip from nszambia before his tenure ends.Am a research scientist and the thesis for my PHD was on GMOs so i know the disadvantages of GMOs.Coming to the issue of Zamtel. Why did Dora ignore the advice from the attorney general over the method being taken in privatising Zamtel. To make matters worse Dora engaged a company ownwed by Rupiah’s son to value Zamtel at the cost of $2 million. This is corruption

  120. It is by far clear, the intended mission behind this cheap and desperate propaganda by the Post to tarnish RB’s image. It has not just begun! The other person targetted is ofcourse Dora Siliya.

The reasons are more than obvious and it would really take a gullible person to see otherwise. The vice is also welcome news to the enemies of the state who upto now have hardly got the stamina to swallow their pride and admit defeat.

  121. Good morning bonse!!
3RqU and Ba Monze mulishani bane?
    Awe nachilala bwino!!

LT has not posted anything yet!! Good news!!

Iwe 3RqU ati someone jumped over the red traffic lights? :d

  122. Research Scientist

Your language is pathetic to say the least, as educated as you claim to be, why cant you use reason and logic without insults?

  123. #229

Jam@co awe eyefilya. Atleast they have extended the dead line. Wish they said upto December. I am going ku Zed for two weeks in March. I wont have time to be going round so all I will do is bribe the passport officer with $50 ninshi ine ni zeeeee |-)|-)

  124. Anonymous

I dont know where you are coming from, but what Dora has done without following tender proceedure is corruption!! simple. What are you talking about? people want to pretend all is well when they can see corruption right in front of them, Why?
Leave the POst alone,…for goodness sake. 😕

  125. Who doest not know that the POST’s desperate attempt has everything to do with the dilema they find themselves in with the loss of their prefered candidate SATA and the downfall of their defunct ZAMBIAN AIRWAYS.

Who are their percieved masterminds behind their predicament? Ofcourse RB and Dora Siliya. Their biasness has been proved on several occasions even on this blog. For one to jump to conclusions based on their allegations is simply illogical and careless.

  126. Ba Moze

The proper procedure to determine wrong doing and fair play as far as our set up is concerned is through the courts. Let the agrieved parties sue! The truth will eventually come out.

  127. This GMO foods stuff we eat everyday country. According to the GRZ it is banned. Check in the shop it is there this shows that the people in Authority doe not know what actualy is Banned.

  128. #236. Anony

The problem is even learned people like you have accepted that what you are talking about is normal.

Courts in Africa? I am not being awkward Anony how old are you?

Been there, seen it all :d

  129. How could the president call for the opening of debate on GMO. Its a case closed. LPM had enough wisdom to serve this country on that issue. Dont force akulumpuno. You could be old :-b |-) and finnished with nothing lo lose, but the country is too young to be destroyed.

  130. How could the president call for the opening of debate on GMO. Its a case closed. LPM had enough wisdom to serve this country on that issue. Dont force akulumpuno. You could be old :-b |-) and finnished with nothing lo lose, but the country **== is too young to be destroyed.

  131. 3RqU

So what are you saying? If someone is agrieved and believes that a wrong has been committed, he should just whine and complain because the courts will not deliver justice?

The press if unbiased can be a very useful tool as was the very POST years back. The POST has lost its soul and objectivity. That is simply my point.

  132. Reading in ‘between’ the lines, RB has confirmed that he was aware of GMO maize coming into the country..hence the answers like;

‘GMO maize can be milled at the boarder gates!!
‘We should open debate on GMO foood’
‘my son can participate in any business transcation…yes’

For starters, GRZ is on record saying we have enough maize in the reseves.

RB be frank on issues. This is what we call corruption.

  133. #245 Anonymous

I want to believe you are expressing an opinion when you refer to the POST losing its soul and fimo fimo. Not every one agrees with you on that score though. That paper has brought to the surface things you would never ever imagine possible. Remember that the POST is not about an individual. It is proffesionally run by competent staff who, however, are human just like you (i want to believe) and i. RB has started on a wrong note. Period. And if not checked, he will run us aground (if he has not done so already)!

  134. #245 Anony

The fact that you have agreed Dora and RB were the architects of the down fall of the Post makes it even interesting. Out of frustration they will go out of their way to write whatever little news they get hold of.

I do not support The Post, but do you realise that the national papers don`t even bother? How many times have we read stuff in The Sun and seen action being taken?

Wait until it happens that you need the courts to sort something out for you. Thats when you will appreciate the mechanism in our sorry country. In developed countries, the worst enemy any government has are the press.

  135. Something fishy is going on, Why is SHREK (RB) defending Dora Siliya on the ZAMTEL deal, his son on maize deal, SHREK (RB)should not forget that his only saving Zambia for three years only, he may think he is untouchable today but he never know what tomorrow holds for him. I end here.

  136. #246 Pan Africanist

Correct!! Let the man be sincere. RB throws the rope to the veep and “other ministers” to hang themselves??? Strange! He knows something here. LPM said no to GMOs and that was official govt position. What has changed now? Talk about continuing the legacy!!! my foot!!

  137. #247 Ba Moze

You and I think exactly the same. Just posted #248 only to see that you are talking about the same thing.

    Ba Moze :)>-

  138. How Woulda life be without the post. Big Up Membe and Team, Without you a lot of issues would have gone by without us knowing anything

  139. #240, Ba Moze was bringing out another case in which Dora decided to award a company a $2million contract regarding the valuation & sale of Zamtel without following tender proceduresa and against the Attorney General’s advice. And guess who was involved in the negotiations of this contract….RB’s SON. A different one from the GMO Maize saga issue. Like the Post warned “time will tell how corrupt RB is” and barely 4 months we ve began seeing it. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE POST FOR EXPOSING THIS ROT THATS GOING ON!!!!!!

  140. # 225 WHY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE FAILLING TO FOLLOW TENDER PROCEDURES OVER THE ZAMTEL ISSUE .IF THE MEAN WELL LET THEM DO THE RIGHT THING AS PER ADVICE FROM AG.TRY TO LOOK BEYOND YOUR NOSE.

  141. Mr Bwezani please do not dare us. why should we open discussions on possible consumption of GMOs! tht is a clossed chapter. Is this why u are causing this attificial shortage of mealie so us to force us into accepting GMO?
don’t be funny banda we are watching u and u shall surely be made to account for yo corrupt activities
THANKS BA POST KEEP IT UP

  142. I really find it strange that people should be supporting the wrong RB and his cohorts are perpetuating. Barely four months in office and you begin to utter words like, “my son was not …” ? It means that there is a problem! Where was his son all this time? Next it will be, “my wife is not …”! 😕

    #255 PY

Exactly!!! Thats what i have been trying to tell Anonymouse. Koma….yaba!

  143. Ba Moze it`s very unproffesional for the entire President to come and start defending his son. It stinks. The fact that he is an African president makes it even worse.

    Pali fimo apa kwati. 😕

Ba Post please dig even more. This is what we want. Why is it that Daily Mail na Times ni|-) lyonse?

  144. Its very strenge that issues of such a nature are showing their face in our country just a few months of the present government in power. In the first place how could GMOs find their way into our country without been inspected before dispatch? we have a policy on GMO’s and as a serious nation we should stick to such policies. We dont need the President to come and say Kaleza on TV to prove to us that his sons are not involved in this scandal. The issue is that its his son involved in the process and not whether he was aware or not. Please Mr President you and yo collegues in government get serious you are dealing with people’s lives.

  145. 247. Ba Moze

Of course it is an opinion. I have strong reservations about the professionalism. If you like, that is my opinion as well. I have plenty of reasons for this opinion.

    248 3RqU

I have by no means agreed about your assertion. I stated ‘… THEIR PERCIEVED masterminds.’ Opinions as to whether Grz should have bailed out ZA or not are still doing the rounds. This present government in their opinion made their best judgement well within their mandate. The POST were counting on the former Finance Minister or SATA to sway things their way.

  146. The advice given to the government by the technical experts on GMO when this subject first surfaced in Zambia was very right. Even here in England with all the scientific know how it is not every where that GMOs are allowed. In some places they have been confined to the laboratories. Government should ensure that the consignment is escoted out of the country by security personnel..next time the phytosanitary Inspectors at the borders should not even allow any consignment pass the border line.

  147. #256, tender procedures are there to ensure transparency and also ensure that the best people providing competeive prices are awarded the contract. Apart from that, it is the LAW of the land. What you are suggesting would result in lawlessnes, where people do whatever the want to do and in defence say “I meant well”. Laws of the land should be adhered to weather you are a Minister or a pauper. Mumba, make sure that you also familiarize yourself with the Development Agreements of the privatized comapnies and you will realise that history is repeating itself. Shortcuts never pay!

  148. In fact those Generals and Bulaya were recently incacerated partly because the decided not to follow the layed down procurement procedures.

  149. What education has RB’s children got? Abena Nenani? all the time its ‘dad this, dad that’at their age. And RB seem to be not shy with this kind of deals. This man will loot this country, wait and see. There is a reason why this man never opens his eyes even in public. He thinks through the eyes and it a sign of danger. VIVA POST, VIVA!!!!!!!!!Let no dog bark at you!!!!!!

  150. People watch Danny Kalale and VJ. Dont let them steal our birth right so that come 2011 RB will be accompanying FTJ at GRZ guest house some where near Chimbokaila

  151. PY

You make your opinion sound like a fact. The fact that some classified document found its way to tabloid newspaper is itself something to be wary of. The facts on the ground may not be as they may appear, that is my opinion. I am well aware of that information but that is just one side of the story, wait before jumping to conclusions.

  152. #264 PY

In fact those Generals and Bulaya are now playing Nsolo and Draughts in Chimbokaila! I hear Singogo is seeded first ku nsolo!! :))=)):-j

  153. And to answer your question mumba, to begin with no expression of interest was advertized, there was no involvement of the National Tender board by way of scrutinizing the would be applicants and thirdly there was no letter of approval from the tender (and thats not all)…..and guess what? ZDA was sidelined….if you can’t smell a rat, then acquaint yourself with the basic national tender procedures and if you still cant smell a rat, better go for a medical check up.

  154. #262 UBUFUMU. Even in small privately companies like the mines contracts are not just handed out like that. There is a procedure which gives chance to all bidders to be considered. Now what about GRZ who are supposed to guard our laws? Problem cadres dont seem to see whats wrong with this lawlessness.Thank you UBUFUMU for your constructive contribution

  155. #236,245 chi Anonymous
I believe you are an imbecile.Man,you are supporting nyama soya blindly.Makaka, where ever you are as a slave staying in a studio apartment dont think you are smart idi.ot.This isuue about GMO is a very sensitive issue and it borders on human lives.Nyama soya is a very corrupt president and nowander Zambians’ are suffering within his 100 days of him in office. You i.diot come to Zambia and see how people are suffering.Let Nyama soya open the GMO debate and i will be there to present my papers against GMOs coz am also an authority in that field.

  156. You mean we do not have companies that can evaluate Zamtel in Zambia. A lot of Zambians trained in economics and accounts have companies right under the governments nose. And we say we want foreign currency to stabilize the economy when we are just sending away 2 mitre usa D. Koma bupompwe bwayamba bwangu..

  157. #260 MUKOSA I totally agree with you how can he try to justify his sons innocence by saying kaleza njazi on TV ,I was surprised.

  158. # 260 Ba MUKOSA i totally agree with you how can RB come on tv to justify his sons innocence by saying KALEZA, NJAZI on TV i could not believe what i saw and heard.

  159. The POST has a very dirty scheme which is motivated by the bruising and bashing they got when their preferred candidates who were to be their saviours got a beating and lost. Thier preffered candidates both had given a clear promise to support their now defunct Zambian Airways. Their reason for supporting these candidates, Mangande and SATA, was motivated by the promise to protect Zambian Airways. How objective in the light of this can the Post be? The rug has been pulled off their feet and you say what?

  160. Anony

You are a man of double standards. You believe The Post were relying on Sata to bail them out but you do not want to believe what we have heard courtesy of the Post. How do you know they were relying on Sata to bail them out?

I hope you are not one of the jealousy people who rejoiced because Mmembe and the Nchito brothers suffered with their ZA. I know Africans to be very jealousy people and until we rise above this, you and I will be talking about this even 100 years from now.

Sorry but this is petty from the president.

  161. Research Scientist

Show forth your inadquate capacity to reason and I will simply ignore your filth. I have capacity to overlook your insults.
    :d

  162. #278 Anonymouse

[-x Now you are off-side mudala. What are your facts? You are merely making assumptions now. That is a low blow, even for your standards!! Be objective, please.

  163. #278, I do not always suport the Post but I also know that they have always bashed all 3 presidents who have been in power, including Mwanawasa despite them supporting him in 2006. They brougt out the bulaya case when LPM and Kunda wanted to sweep it under the carpet. Whether the Post are dirty or not, I would rather have them because we as Zambians are able to know some of the terrible happenings in Govt offices.

  164. 3RqU

You accuse me of double standards and jealousy? I cant understand. The fact that I choose to give my opinion on the motivations of the POST is ground enough for you to accuse me of that? That language is difficult to interpret my friend.

  165. #282. Anony:o

I hate people who jump to capacity, intelligience this, I have degrees this, I am more learned that.

Sorry but it`s very African. I am not surprised though. Can`t we just argue without bringing in s i l l y stuff? :((:((

  166. 289 3RqU

I think you aught to direct that to your learned colleague, the learned scientist, I guess you are. But how many such can be tamed?

  167. MINISTER of Communications and Transport Dora Siliya has with immediate effect dissolved Zamtel, National Airports Corporation and Zambia Railways Limited boards.

The minister announced this in a press statement released in Lusaka yesterday.

“By the powers vested in my office through Zamtel, National Airports Limited and Zambia Railways Limited Acts, I wish to inform the nation that boards of the above mentioned companies have been dissolved with immediate effect,” she said.

Ms Siliya said this action had been taken in national interest and also to re-align and improve operations and performance of the companies

  168. Anony why are you missing the point kanshi?

Have a look at posts. You will never find anywhere I talk about being learned. If anything I said I hate this to your friend`s post.

Lets get back to what were where talkig about.

#294. Ba Moze I still stand by my post. I hate people bringing how learned they are in posts on here.

I have seen MBs where people just argue without bringing such s i l l y things. Not necessary I do not think.

  169. RB seems to be confused with the wine of power. How do you give two contradicting statements by saying it go back to RSA or be milled at the boarder for who? just say burn that staff even if your child is involved or not!

  170. Anony I posted #301 not knowing you posted #300. Ignore it. :d:d

But seriuosly I meant it in english and I do not think it was a big deal.:d

  171. HENRY WITH GMO,JAMES WITH ZAMTEL PRIVATISATION AND NENANI WITH YOUR PRESIDENTIAL PASSPORTS.WATV WRONG RB,COME 2011 THE LAW WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU.

  172. #306

    Jam@co shut up! :d:d

Everything goes on here. This is why it`s not nice to talk about how smart you are.:d:d

We do accept even the mighty Maestro uses the word “undereducate”.:d

  173. #313 Anonymouse =))=))=))

I just love the way you use these words. “insidious”, Efinshi nomba? Anyway, am also unperturbed!!

  174. Ba LT shani ilyashi limbi :d

God she has not been here for some time so time to use

    :o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o):o)

  175. Now where shall we begin from, the opinion of the POST is baseless as far as I am concerned because of the ‘motive’. A biased person is the last person to consult in matters of dispute. And I state, without hesitation , that I will not fall for the opinion of the POST for that reason. Let that infromation come from an independent third party and I will begin to listen.

  176. Akulu mphuno is going too far now. Why involve his children in issues which can be dealt by Min. of Agriculture and other Ministers. Nyama soya utekanye maningi, we don’t want to be fed on trash unknowingly. The problem Nyama soya has UNIP mentality.

  177. At least Henry is alleged to be involved in the Maize saga…there was better reason to leave his well-paying job in SA…James (the first born) is rumoured to be the one behind the Oil saga..remember Dad (Bwezani) is busy going to Nigeria, Libya and now Angola..all three major oil producing countries to seek other sources of oil other than Kuwaiti’s IPG …The ‘talks’ are private..Sata has been saying that he should tell the nation what he went to do..Wake up Zedians!!! I guess its ‘lets make sheets before dad books out in 2011”

  178. Anony other than The Post which other paper is going to write against the president and a minister with boobs? 😕

I am not a very big fun of the post but ba Anony fimo fyena mwandini hmhmmhh! Shuwa kaleza:d:d

    Shuwa kaleza kaningambe shuwa!:d

  179. HENRY WITH GMO,JAMES WITH ZAMTEL PRIVATISATION AND NENANI WITH YOUR PRESIDENTIAL PASSPORTS( sorry portraits).WATs WRONG RB,COME 2011 THE LAW WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU

  180. Please put missing points and check out: newsneconomic com… Check our country’s rating but those not commited are the ones bringing us
    down!!!

  181. The many reasons behind the blind inclination to the opinions of the POST can be understood in the light of the Political mileage to be gained by losers masquerading as independent thinkers. This poliical gimmick by the post has fertile ground with PF eager to create impressions of disapproval of the mandated government.

  182. #331

    Sister good morning.

Baby C is away so ifwe ni :o):o):o)

All you have to do is go Anony when she comes back. Remember not to talk about how smart you have been when she comes back though. We do not like smart people on here.:d:d

    :o):o):o):o):o)

  183. 319. 3RqU

    we also love you :d

Do you also want to taste some beef ?

    There is enough for everyone!!

Ba Anonymouse has already paid!! Plus free english lessons for all.

Ba Anony fimo fimo is the only here who is unperturbed! :d

  184. Stop defending your sons RB,we all know they have left SA to come and pull fast strings in zed. I know them personally and know thier propaganda…..Niwulule???

  185. I meant the site: newsnenomics com… But put those points and the Ws… They block if they appear here!!! Our nations is blessed and everybody knows that… Scandals, unseriousness, corruption bring down… I wonder what our grandchildren will find in Zambia…

If only we can have visionaries. Forgetting about petty issues. All resources if and when taken advantage of Zambia could have been a power house in Southern Africa. Can’t blame anyone but selfishness

  186. 3RqU

Apart from the POST you say, are all our minds clogged, for starters people like #280 PY could do the needful and report here on this blog if he cares! or is he fantasizing?

  187. How can a Republican President be swearing in public like that.
Ba MOze,Sister, 3RqU,Miss Daisy, Jam@co and the rest goodmorning

  188. If only everyone in Zambia think like you guys… This Bloggers Republic has what it takes in any positive direction!!!

Enjoying some of your comments… Blog on guys..

  189. Mwana Mala Yambi

Fair assumption, the question is, will such an opinion stand in the courts of law, will the opinions of the POST be relied apon in court? They may well be telling the truth but fairness requires that those that often tell lies will be listened to with a pinch of salt. They never will make credible witnesses.

  190. 327: You are spot on..
We seem to be heading to the ‘Moi’ era in Kenya where his sons were involved in almost every facet of the country’s business leading to a host of widely publicized scandals..

  191. First of all in what context was RBB speaking?…..

If he was responding to say a direct question from a journalist(which i doubt) about his son’s involvment, then oh well nothing wrong in that,

but if this was just a wild shot in the air unprovoked then he must be feeling the pinch,

it can only mean he’s too emotional to be a leader.

There are many ways of wading off such allegations, why not have someone else deny them for you (his son)

  192. The Lusakan Gigolo

What are you trying to say? What conclusions can be drawn from that? Just interested. Sembe enze agwa olo agwa?

  193. 356 Anony nothing wrong!:d

    Lets move on now.

#355 The Lusakan Gigolo steady on! Pali icingeleshi pano lelo. You can enroll if you want. Jam@co is the one running the programme.

    You are pastor J 😕

No thanks.. please take some infected meat with you. Like Anonymousy!!

    353. 3RqU

Are sure 245 is Lady Chizy?

  195. It is not about the POST… sometimes I dont support them!!!

What I know and what is important is if it’s true it’s true!!

No need to argue but to think about the effects of GMO and if it can

be true then someone does not care about the common man except

transactions in their books of accounts… My oh my!!!

  196. What’s up with Zambians?
The President is in his 70s. He has sons who are in their own right citizens of Zambia who have evry right to participate in the commonwealth of the nation. If and only if, there has been misconduct and unfairness this should be exposed. But if someone won a tender fairly it does not matter whether he is the President’s dog or whatever, it should be. Yes, questions should be asked and everything investigated and if there is any corruption we have the agencies mandated to deal with these. People sholud not be tried in the press and I am sure the ‘learned gentleman’ knows this. If this continues LAZ should answer.

  197. By the way, RB is heading for Malawi after Tanzania.
Im just wondering what he is doing in these countries that he is visiting when Siliya is busy selling Zambia.

  198. @ # 358. Anonymous….

You obviously haven’t been here of late, someone claiming to be a man of the cloth rolled a community site over the weekend,

  199. Hey ba Moze

How are the tonga’s??? Fill me in kaili… ifisungu nangu ichisungu? mulelanda bwino ka! am bemba! i think the best term to use is.. ichingeleshi!! :o):o):o)

  200. This is what should happen in investigative journalism. You uncover a ‘scam.’ You interview the parties to explain their roles in the face of the evidence you have. You pass it on to relevant agencies to investigate. If they do nothing, then you publish. Otherwise, premature publication may prejudice the case. Witnesses may be interfered with and some may even ‘flee’ the country. If the plunderers’ case had been handled wisely, we would have had justice by now. Justice delayed is justice denied.

  201. #363 Miss Daisy
am well my dear. Hubby aint talking to me coz aunty flo is in the house. so things arent happening. you know how it is with these things.

  202. Rb should have first addressed the way forward with the shortage of bunga in Zed than defending his son before going outside Zed.Will kill him if come closer to me,i RB’s son well.
RBs coming moves are to keep traveling alot and make alot of business for his family :((

  203. Vote Rigger

Your point has been duly noted. Dont you find it ironic, however that people ,all of a sudden, want to come back to Zambia simply because their ntwanikane is the President? That should send alarm signals in any normal minded person. Why now? Nobody ever heard them pushing tender documents before! but now, here they are. Not that they dont have a right, as you say, but there is no smoke without fire! Kaleza, muzamvelako!!!

  204. LOL, hi Baby C…

VOTE RIGGER, call a spade a spade! what fair tenders?? You really think Henry and them follow the right routes and win ma bids fairly??

  205. Baby C sorry I was just messing about. What happened to you yesterday?

#372 Anony. I know you meant what I am on about. But look, I do not know what Ba Moze started with you yesterday. And, if that`s the case you will find life on here very difficult.

I have had different opinions from those of Jam@co, Ba Moze, Baby C, Free Market, the mighty Maestro (though difficult to accept his own failings sometimes), Engine Bbulock, and a few others. Do not take it to the next day or the next topic. It`s not healthy.

I have to say I am not always going to agree with you. Now I know why you came out like that then.

    😕

  206. #389 Anonymouse?????

Thats the problem. You cant tell who you are dealing with. as a result, you end up accosting the right and sensible person, and letting the dumb one go scot free!!! 😮

  207. MFUMU YA MA MFUMU

It is an old old story about this chap who kept cheating the villagers that a lion was about. He did this for several times and the villagers became irritated. The lion eventually and actually turned up and he cried LION! again only this time his cry to fall on deaf ears!

Speaking of “old enough”, Veep is pictured in todays post having his shoe laces tied by ADC! You wuold think Veep was old enough to do it on his own. I wonder what else the ADC has to do for the Veep??? Hmmmmmm. 😕

  214. #385. Ba Moze
    #387. Miss Daisy
I understand your concerns. What happens in Zambia is what I would call ‘self bribery.’ There are people who will do favours to someone because of who that someone is connected with even when there is no one coercing them at all. That is why we had an impositor staying at a lodge in the name of ‘Banda.’ I would have asked the Lodge owners why they let him stay simply because he said he was who he said he was. Zambians tend to find it difficult to say, ‘so what if you are…’ The smae goes with editorial ‘self censorship.’ I continue below…

  215. @ # 410. Moze,

What a disgust that is, imagine seeing my father kneeling down for someone else’s dad, oh boy oh boy

  216. ba RB is this really continuity or what? this is destroying and indeed at the expense of poor Zambians.
Ine personally i saw all this coming, especially when RB took the whole lot of his two grown up sons, wives and a million and one grand children to mfuwe on gvt exp.
    bafuna chabe tiyi zandamule.

  217. ‘tafili ukotuleya tukasanga nafipwa’ Abo baamba nabana babo, twalachita shani mwebantu, this is it, it is about time we strategised a way forward, about these morons run down my beloved zed.

  218. Press Clip:

President Banda has expressed concern over the amount of indiscipline in the Government. Asked how he hoped to deal with it, President Banda replied, “I dont know. However, i would like to thank the people of Zambia for voting for me during the last elections.”

    Twachula!!! 🙁

  219. ‘tafili ukotuleya tukasanga nafipwa’ Abo baamba nabana babo, twalachita shani mwebantu, this is it, it is about time we strategised a way forward, about these morons running down my beloved zed.

  220. Guys I can smel a rate, ba RB honestly is not taking us anywahere! It is a high time we start warming up a player. kwacha to a dollar is now at K5,250 barely 4 months in office and the man doesn’t even talk about how he is going to reverse the trend! to a successif one need to have even own knowledge.

  221. Sounds like ANC and African Politics. someone must eat before contracts awarded. Shame on RB. Why can’t his son speak for himself. Surely he’s older than 18 to tender for large contracts……..:o

” I use advoize 084 190 0030 to call Lusaka for the price of a local call from South Africa”

  222. Anyone with an idea on “HOW THE ZIMBA-LIVINGSTONE EVALUATION IS GOING ON ” down there in Kafue Gorge? Year in year out evaluating the same road ikapwapo and sitting allowances for 30days,tax payers money anyway we are gud as tax payers. Let them feast after all. <:-p<:-p<:-p

  223. Suppose a journalist from the Post discovered some dirt about the boss. Do you think they would go on to publish? Of course not! And why? Self censorship. Systems in Zambia need to be overhauled. We must start with independence of institutions. The State should not own any news media. Editorial bias should be: right wing or left wing or centre, but there should be a balance of editorial opinions. Right now, no one believes the Times because it is State owned even though it probably has the best journalistic etiquette… probably!
Yelsin closed down Pravda (USSR) in 1991. Why have we continued with this UNIPist propaganda media?

  224. The disgraced POST newspaper and their disgruntled cohorts in PF, an unholy alliance will try by all means to create wrong impressions.

The weak amongst us will fall for their scheme but unperturbed by this, the strong will forge ahead laughing at their enemies impossible mission.

  225. #426 Anonymouse

You are right. What do his children say about their dads job to their friends?
Ati “Daddy nchito yabo niyo polisha nsapato zaba VEEP”?? 😮

  226. Next, must be the independence of the civil and diplomatic service. By this I mean that these institutions must not be run on party lines. Of course one would like to appoint people who understand policies of the govt of the day. So far, the Zambia Revenue Authority is the only institution in Zambia that has a semblance of independence. I wonder whether the UK govt may have something to do with this. The Bank of Zambia is supposed to be independent but we hardly hear from the Governor what the monetary policy is. Permanent secretaries should be promoted to this through the ranks. You do not get a plumber to become inspector general of police.

  227. #429. Ba Moze

Seriously speaking there is nothing wrong with that. It`s only in Zambia that tulasusha incito shabantu.

I put my bins out this morning before coming to work. Someone has to empty them. May be that`s why they are developed. :d

  228. The PF loyalist MP’s are still feeling the pain of their loss to MMD. Their accrued debt as a result of the election campaigns will not ease off soon.

  229. 3RqU

unless you tell me its in his job description then i have no qualms about it. sometimes nituchawa, ka? Anikonde muzungu!! Ungankaleko IG mailo!! 😕

  230. Now you have a medical doctor perm sec of some other dept. How can he understand the technical documents that the minister is to sign? I support our President, but I will point out what is wrong in our country and I hope he will listen. ‘The wounds of a friend are better than the kisses of an enemy.’ I traced a note of irritation from him on the question of Siliya, but he must remember that he said the Post would make him work even harder. So go on RB, shame your critics. It is stormy winds that help an eagle to rise even higher. Rise Your Excellency, rise above the storms and soar to sublime heights of competent leadership!

  231. 3RqU munjeleleko ngani nebo, its just that some of us nipa Zed chabe. we only hear about how lucrative some of these jobs are in the developed nations. as a result, you to try to strive to be better, kabili kuno, its not possible. otherwise kunti walala insala. iyi stage nipatali here.

  232. and sure Ba Moze, its true, Muzungu ani konde. you remember ba Mpombo – showelelaling all over ba late. awe sure mwandi, he used to embarrass the menfolk. especially that time of the Mpombonic plague “fuel shortage”, chali shupa.

  233. 3RqU

I am shocked to say the least, come on, you can do better. Soon you will deny that you exist. Have heard have you come across ‘undisturbed’, ‘unperturbed’, ‘unmoved’ etc. You dare spew your ignorance in writing and even insist on it! shame shame!!!!!!

  234. #441. Sorry was not talking to you but my friend Ba Moze.

Coming back to your post. Look it`s not about a job being lucrative. We need people to do all sorts of things. Remember there has to be a bin man to collect gabbage otherwise what happens? I have no time to start digging umuganda sorry.

This is where I do not agree with the way Maestro despises the “undereducate”. Every human being is useful in one way or the other. We all can not be bafimofimo. Who is going to take by bins if we are the same?

Not sure where you are but if you are in the States you will agree with me.

  235. #444

There is no need to shout young man. There is no such a word for God`s sake.

Look you will hear about my daughter saying “I was squished” with an english accent of course. That does not mean this is acceptable.

I have lived in England for a very long time. There are words which have eventually been accepted in the Cambridge Advanced Dictionary. That word is not one of them. Stop being thick for nothing young man.

  236. Anony with a US flag. I was talking to Anony with a bllue flag( can`t even figure out where that one is from). Typo in my post above. Should have been #432 not #431.

  237. #445, no am in Lusaka, never been to the States actually. nalabwela, am going for lunch, some hot hot nshima with insides/vegies ku NASDAC.
but before i do, from my point, i think its about being better and having a lucrative job, i would not want to be one of those that will be employed to pick bins, sweep the streets or whatever. i too strongly believe in your point too that every human bein is useful in a way or the other. in Zambia, i would like to do better than picking bins, collecting gabbage because iyaku marabo kunu tai pasa. 240. Genetically modified food controversies
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Jump to: navigation, search
The genetically modified food controversy is a dispute over the advantages and disadvantages of genetically modified (GM) food crops.

A number of documented health hazards have come to light since GM food was introduced in the U.S. (1994). Supporters of GM food argue that close to 150 governmental officials and/or industry-financed studies, and at least 47 peer reviewed articles in scientific journals have been published that support the argument that GM food is safe to eat.[1][2][3][4]

Other scientists,[5] pressure groups and Consumer rights groups, such as the Organic Consumer

  241. such as the Organic Consumers Association,[6] and Greenpeace[7] claim the long term health risks which GM could pose, or the environmental risks associated with GM, have not yet been adequately investigated. They also claim that truly independent research in these areas is systematically blocked by the GM corporations which own the GM seeds and reference materials.

  242. 3RqU

You amaze me! The problem is that you mechanically approach things and insist on that. Just because you cant see it in the dictionary doesn’t it is not there. By the same logic of yours, I wonder the bulkiness of the dictionaries we will be having. It would utterly be useless to put un to all words that are capable of fitting it. Just imagine unseeing, unmoved, undisturbed, unresolved, unreasoning as you as so on as so forth, have some faith, it is helpful. It will free you from that box kind of thinking. Iam utterly amazed, big man.

  243. 3RqU

You have this amazing abillity to make some of us look more intelligent than we are! For goodness sake give up, you are spewing more unwholesome thinking, unwind, unblock, undo the damage by simply accepting that you are wrong.

  244. 3RqU

unkind, unable, unbreakable, unresolved, unsafe, unimportant, unlikely, unfavourable, ….. infinito

And this big man is insisting that he wants to see them all in the dictionary, my foot. By goat!

  245. #445. 3RqU, what do you exactly mean on “This is where I do not agree with the way Maestro despises the “undereducate”. Every human being is useful in one way or the other. We all can not be bafimofimo. Who is going to take by bins if we are the same?”

Do you mean the “Undereducate”, note the capital letter U, a pronoun for bashikulu Micheal Chilufya Sata or who?

I believe that I have made it clear that I refer to Mr MC Sata as the Undereducate because:
    1. It is true that he is a Standard 4 school drop out.
    2. he named president HH of the UPND as “under5”
    3. he now calls his friends who made him what he is as “ng’wang’wazi” when he is one of them too following my earlier comment.

  246. 3RqU

unpalatable, unwise, unfeeling, unproductive, unnecessary, unprofessional literally infinite and so dictionary cant obviously contain all these words, it will be very repeatitive and unintelligent.

  247. #463. your flag Maestro Hhehhehhehhe continued.

Following Mr MC Sata himself’s comment that how do you expect UNZA people to support a ng’wang’wazi, it is clear that I can not support him for Zambian President.

  248. Has someone got proof to show that RB’s son’s are involved in the GMO and Zamtel saga? I don’t want to rely on the post reportage. Sometimes they can be malicious. Remember their insistence that there was a worker at State house called banda something allegedly related to RB. There was also a hard hitting opinion on assertions by GART boss on the maize situation. That story was never verified. In yesterday’s opinion they just linked Henry without proving it. Can some one with factual data please give it to me? A lot of US are just commenting out of ignorance.

  249. 3RqU

When a person is unintelligent, he will not benefit even if a professor teaches him. UK has done little to unhook you from your box!

This is the quality of these imposters masquerading as intelligent beings!

  250. Maestro if it`s Sata alone then yes that`s fine.:d

Anony young man, if a word is not in the Cambridge Advanced Learner`s Dictionary then it`s not there.

I shouldn`t be correcting you. You are amazing really.

Shall we just say that word is there then so that it makes you happy? :d

  251. 3RqU

    You say-
‘..if a word is not in the Cambridge Advanced Learner`s Dictionary then it`s not there.’

Self evident statement, I feel for you. let your daughter smack you on your head for this unbecoming thinking.

  252. Anony. The word perturbed is there yes but there is no such a thing as unperturbed.

You will never agree so you win. If anything it`s not an issue any way.

Just one word young man, learn to accept where you are wrong. I am sorry I brought in the issue of the number of years I have been away from Zambia. I shouldn`t have done it.

    You win. Unperturbed! :d

  253. :-w Why is it that anonymous is able to submit post while other people find it almost impossible to post anything? I wonder why the president’s sons are so quiet? Why don’t they speak for themselves? I’d certainly love to hear what they have to say. Their silence is quite disconcerting.

  254. #473

You remind me of the time I was watching America`s next top model. One of the girls said proportionable. Made the judges laugh. :d

  255. Guys come on, but in defence to Anony..fimo fimo( words are still being added to dictionaries which a learned elderly person can not agree with). For instance, the word “Bling” five years ago, it wasnt a real word, it was street slang or jargon but its now in The Chambers oxford dictionary that was published last year…

Sooo…please, you both correct and you are BOTH INTELLIGENT other wise you wouldnt be where you are now..

    PEACE..???

  256. Hey , i was disappointed to see the President swearing to God in defence of his Son, oho no kalezaa simwanawanga, kalezaa kaningambee, hey brace for a Presidential By-election.Whos the New Presidential Legal Advisor, please tell ur boss swearing ,akafwaa nakalumba. Can someone tell me , whos the New Legal Advisor at State House, is it Aka?

  257. Go to any shoprite/spar store in Zambia, and you will find GMO products. Any imported cereal, baby food, margerine from RSA contains GMO grain! It is a fact that 90% of grain in RSA is GMO, and they have no problems with it.

  258. Miss Daisy

I will not agree with you but appreciate what you are saying. I am pretty sure that 3RqU did not even believe the word perturbed existed at all! Otherwise he would not be arguing endlessly on such an obvious thing. There are so many words that dont appear in the dictionary but are perfectly correct and used in everyday formal expressions. The word ‘Bling’ is completely outside the realm of words Iam talking about and will not fit in this case.

  259. #474. 3RqU
    #473. Anonymous
‘Unperturbed’ is a recognised word in English usage. They joy of the English language hey! Ever growing picking up new words as it goes along and as long as people use them, they become English. English is promiscuous. William Shakespeare would not have a clue what ‘to google’ is, but so are many today who do not know what the ‘days of yore’ are! Right guys, keeping loving each other! What is a language between 2 Zedians. Oh! sorry, Zedians is not in the Advanced chakuti chakuti dictionary!!

  260. 474. 3RqU

With your same logic, you will find the word ‘disturbed’ in the dictionary but are you going to find the word undisturbed or unmoved?

  261. #481 Anony

Anony look at people`s posts before you post. I talked about all that even before Miss Daisy posted that post. Have a look again please.

I bet you have now googled and found that I was right.

    You win. :d

  262. #470. 3RqU great stuff you have learnt something.

In fact the pronoun “Undereducate” for the noun Michael Chilufya Sata in a compound word “Under-educate” coming from two words Under and educate.

I hope this clarifies your confusion about it not being found in a dictionary.

If you have any more queries on this one, please write to me on [email protected]. Later, for I have something useful to do now.

  263. Mwaice Anony Undisturbed is there in the Cambridge Advanced Learner`s Dictionary.

I hate calling people names but you are being a wum there. :d

    Sorry couldn`t resist it:d:d:d:d

  264. 3RqU

unthoughtful, unkind, unwise, unthankful, unreliable, unimportant, unmerciful, unlikely, uneventful, unbecoming, unzealous, unnecessary

Pick the ones not in the dictionary. I know you have gotten the point, Iam pulling your leg for the fun of it.

  265. I think I have had enough. Look at posts 483 and 481 and the response I gave to those posts. You are being childish now.

Bye young man. You are a typical African.

  266. VOTE RIGGER, YEP ZEDIANS AINT A REAL WORD AND YOU DONT WANT ANONYMOUS/3RqU TO SEE THAT!!!..LOL

Every language is diluted at spoken vocabulary level.
So you both right… but anonymous, most words are indeed correct, but you can not use them in a strictly formal document. :d/…..Not allowed….I work for a B2B Magazine and we are not allowed to use such but for correspondence and liaising, its perfect!!

  267. #477..There is nothing wrong with the word ‘proportionable’..maybe the juges found it amusing but its usage is archaic.

  268. Iyee ba RB! How can you come up with such a proposal? GMO in zed!
No please, just think twice,do not rush into saving yo boys from what they know they are into. Yellow maize is the least you can think of, it’s a long dead issue pa zed. Pilizi ba Bwezani! Bring progressive ideas, that’s what u’re there for.
GMO will finish yo already finished Ministers,VP,VM……..nabashala!

  269. MAPALO

    You said-

‘…finish yo already finished Ministers ..’

are you not mindeful of the many sick people that may be reading your comments? FYI you take things for granted, even your own relatives are sick and you deride them with such comments.

  270. MAPALO

You exihibit a very self centred character and choose to mock the sick. Those ministers you are refering to may be sick or not, that is not my point. The fact that you dare make fun on account of their presumed sickness is utterly unfeeling and shocking.

  271. BANE KWENA MULALEMBA. ARE YOU AGENTS OF THE DEVIL OR SATANA.

  272. GMO’s out, no need to debate like the old man keeps telling us. It looks like he is bent on doing all the wrong things, GMO’s, United States of Africa, supporting his sons when they are wronge. If Bush was still president he would have agreed that the Yankees base their military bases here. Its like he is challenging levy by agreeing to all the things he disapproved.

Please God save us from this madness!

Synonyms for ‘Unperturbed’ include – calm, in peace, at ease, tranquil, composed, cool, untroubled.

    Both words exist. Thank you

  277. Abaleya

Thanks, the man did some kind of admission of wrong, I was just surprised about his stance insisting especially so in writing in view of everyone.

How can you argue with one who is certain that he does not exist?

  278. NyamaSoya is stu*pid. Full stop. How can you tell us to re-open the debate on consumption of GMO maize? There is a lot of Non GMO stuff, maize on the market, even the Grain Association Of Zambia (Commercial farmers ) have it right here in zambia. They confirmed it. NyamaSoya is trying to defend his son for bringing trush into Zambia. It should never be milled anywhere near our borders because secretely they will push it.The Post dig deep.Lets riot if NyamaSoya continues this path.

  279. Its been like less than half a year and already the scandal begins. What have we gone and done mother zambia. why are we always plagued with incompetent selfish leaders who have no sense of dignity and pride in the country being able to prosper. all they ever think of is their own enrichment. we have such a sad state of affairs where politics are concerned. god help us as a nation

  280. RB wants to make fast money with his family..We hear about his sons being in the maize scandal,Zamtel and trying to open up an airline company after the Zambian airways went down. This is a lesson to all those who voted for thandi’s husband.Country men lets learn from all these mistakes and vote wisely in 2011.

  281. Usual empty blogging full of ignorance when an oligachy is shaping up right on your watch.

    SMALL WORLD: Ambassador’s daughter
    Mwape is studying biochemistry

    Posted Feb 10, 2009 @ 12:12 AM

PITTSBURG — Chiluchile Mwape is unlike most other international students. When she goes to visit her family, she visits an entirely other country than where she is from. Her father is the Zambian ambassador to China. Do China and Zambia have many political ties?“I didn’t know they did, either until my dad got appointed,” Chiluchile said. “And then when I go to visit them, I go to China now and then I come straight here, which makes me even more homesick.”

  282. 511. Patriotic Zambian,
Levy was not a god maybe to you now that he is in the grave.Zanaco went for a song of US $25million so was the whole lot of KCM mine.Without him public funds would not have been diverted to fund ZA his scam front company using his nephew Malupenga.Without him our missions wouldn’t have sung this low with low grade family members.
