ZESCO 2- FOREST 1.

Wedson Nyirenda’s Zesco United beat visiting local rivals Forest Rangers 2-1 this afternoon at the Trade Fair Ground in the two sides’ Ndola derby to stay unbeaten for an eighth successive league game.

Zesco are also without a loss at home in six straight league games at home base this year.

However, the leaders had to come from behind after Under 23 midfielder Oliver Mukuka put Forest ahead in the 20th minute only for Yonah Mwango to restore parity four minutes later.

The leagues top scorer Rainford Kalaba scored his 10th goal of the season with the winner via a trademark free kick in the 64th minute to see Zesco maintain their status at the summit of the Faz premier League table.

YOUNG ARROWS 1- ZANACO 2.

Zanaco’s recover continues and today were again inspired by veteran Captain Mumamba Numba who scored his 9th goal of the season with an 80th minute winner.

This is after his team mate Jack Chileshe put Zanaco ahead in the 9th minute before Sam Gondwe equalized in the 32nd minute.

LUSAKA DYNAMOS 2- POWER DYNAMOS 1.

3rd placed Lusaka Dynamos made sure Power Dynamos left Lusaka without a win after a 2-1 home triumph over the troubled Kitwe side who have now not won in four consecutive matches.

A brace from Captain Josphet Nkhoma in the 19th and 71st minutes in-between Elson Mukandawire’s 46th minute consolation goal gave Dynamos the win over sorry Power.

KONKOLA BLADES 4- CITY OF LUSAKA 1.

Dean Mwiinde’s Konkola Blades recorded the biggest win of week 13 with a resonating 4-1 victory over City of Lusaka.

The brother’s Nsunzu inspired Blades to this emphatic win with goals each for striker Felix and his highly rated teenage midfielder brother Stophira who scored in the 6th and 65th minutes respectively.

Thomas Nyirenda was on target in the 26th minute while his team mate Robert Tembo too got in on the act seven minutes from time.

Evans Mukosi scored City’s lone goal of the game on the hour mark.

Kelvin Simbeye’s 79th minute winner ensured Assembly got their win to give Chibuye a very toothy smile at the end of the 90 minutes.

ROAN UNITED 2- ZAMTEL 1.

Zamtel are in big trouble.

They lost 2-1 away to fellow division 1 north promoted side Roan United this afternoon to stay riveted at the bottom of the table.

  1. Good to see Roan United now winning home games after a rough start to the season. Keep it up guys. Ati “Roan iwina ichungulo..”

  2. I think the table should be revisited, especially the points for Zanaco and Lusaka Dynamos. Reading the two clubs’ points does not make sense. If the number of wins and draws for the two is correct then zanaco is supposed to have 26 points and Lusaka Dynamos 23 points. Am happy in that the shape of the league is changing.I just hope Zesco will conmtinue with the momentum and pace and should never lose their steam.Lusaka Dynamos too, congratulations to the Management, coach and palyers keep it up. Hanif your club has the capacity to be among the top three, but for your selling of players every year. Take it easy .

  3. Bena Buchi Boy, you can’t gloat over that win, boyi. You whacked a team at the bottom of their performance. Claim one of the big scalp, then yes you can gloat. Too early now

  4. Zesco should continue winning and in the end win the league. It has been long since the copperbelt side won the league.Come on ZESCO electrify them!!

  5. Abena Soccer Fan No 7. Please read my comments properly over Roan. I am note sure what appears to have offended you but fact is Roan won and they deserve praise just like I’m waiting to see the results for Kitwe United as much as Born Rich is keen to see the result of the Nkana FC game.

    Zoona boss, Roan yali wina…

  6. Nkana 1 Medical Stars 0. We opened up a 14 points lead and still unbeaten. See Times of Zambia. Congratulations Mighty. Only that you beat your townmates Blackpool who I am sure you would wish to get back into premier league too.

  7. Ba Nkandu, since when did Ndola become “Itimu lya calo?” I thought Nkana was the “Team lya ziko?” Anyway, we understand after the demolition of Dag, things have been very hard for the City of Ndola. Ok as Ba Nkana we are generous. You can be team “lya ziko” for the time being!

  8. On a different note. Has anyone been following the issues at the National Sports Council. (read Times of Zambia)

I bring it up simply because it reflects the casual approach to administration in Zambia. NSC is headed by a lawyer with a doctorate degeree yet we overlook the most basic of issues and my assumption is that nobody had the guts to be open with Mr. Mpheneka. Our own Teddy Mulonga came out blaming the NSC act yet this guy Mpheneka even fails to produce a report to council and we want to blame the NSC act.
