IFA sets-up Committee to look into Chaswe’s death

Share

The Israel Football Association has set up a five-member panel to investigate the death of Zambia striker Chaswe Nsofwa.

IFA chairman Avi Luzon said in a statement today to the Faz that his association would do everything in its powers to get down to the cause of Nsofwa’s death.

Nsofwa died on Wednesday after collapsing in training for his Israel division 2 club Hapoel Beersheba.

Luzon said the committee would be headed by IFA CEO Ori Shilo and will also include Israel national team Dr. Mark Rosnovski.

Meanwhile all Uefa Cup and Cup games to be played in Israel next week will observe a minute of silence as a mark of respect for the late Chaswe.

Chaswe’s body is expected to arrive in the country by midweek.

  1. I have a suggestion to LPM and FAZ that they grant Nsofwa Chaswe a state funeral. He served Zambia and died as an honorable player. What do each of guys on this Blog think? Please your valued support is welcome.

  2. Nice emotional idea, but with all duel respect to the dead, I think State funeral is not necessary. A minute of silence before the kick of game in SA would do and also some cash injection to help the family left he left would do much more than a state funeral.

  3. A hero is a hero especially in sports you are always a hero if you attain certain standards. Depending how the mourning can be organised I would support that Chaswe get this honour he has said this nation on a high level. He has won Cosafa and he has been a member of junior nation team. We should start recognising our sports personalities for their achievements.

  4. The best way to honour Chaswe is his former club’s way in Isreal, all the proceeds from this cup and league games should go to his family.

  5. Chaswe deserves some respect and a honorable funeral that’s the best our government and FAZ can do because they don’t do much to support sports in Zambia. All the people who have had the chance to travel abroad can bare with me how much sports mean to white people. may his soul rest in peace and a wish for the best for his loved ones. we gonna miss u
