Elijah Tana and three other late Zambia national team call-ups will leave the country on Thursday to join the Africa Cup-bound squad.
Faz revealed today that Tana plus the other two named late call-ups will join the team in Paris on Friday en route to Morocco.
The other two players on the same flight out to Paris are Zambia Under-23 defender Davies Nkausu of South Africa second division team Pretoria University including Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Mike Poto.
Zambia plays their final friendly international against Morocco in Fez on Saturday on January 12 before flying off to Ghana.
Tonight, Zambia takes on Tunisia in their final of two friendly matches against their hosts in Rades.
Zambia won the first match 2-1 on Sunday at the same venue.
Zambia will leave for Ghana on January 13 making Patrick Phiri’s team one of the first teams expected to arrive in the 2008 Africa Cup host nation ahead of the tournaments kickoff on the 20th.

Whatever that means
Until the three players leave the country, I can not trust the current FAZ leadership. How many times have they cheated Zambia?
Seems Zambia lost the rematch to Tunisia 0-1. No details available yet…
Zed was beaten 1-0.A goal scored in the 72 min of the game by the same chap who pulled one back for tunisia in the 2-1 defeat. Is sichone also going or it over for him?
#5 Jeff, according to today’s POST, PP has dropped Sichone due uncertainity concerning his fitness. I think it is the right move by PP ‘coz he can not afford to gamble on a player whose fitness has no been assessed.
Guys the are currently 22 players in Tunisia and Faz says they are sending 3 more players that will bring the number to 25.According to Caf only 23players are supposed to make the final list to the tournament. So who are the two players to be dropped??
On the 0-1 loss last night for me is still a good result against Tunisia. This games i believe are shaping the boys for the real thing.I wonder who played last night?
A good result indeed for Zambia. Overall result 2-2. Not bad at all considering that we were playing in their home soil.
Zambia’s performance in most Tournaments has little or nothing to do with Preparedness or Lack of it. Pyschology oftentimes makes the whole difference.
I just watched some hightlights from the first match we won against Tunisia. The Zambian attack looks pretty good, however the defence is quite bad. Zambia were lucky not to concede several goals. I haven’t seen the highlights from the 2nd match but hopefully the 1-0 scoreline indicates that they have learnt. To see unmarked Tunisian players waiting to pounce on around the goal is very poor defending. There were a few occasions where the defenders were just standing around ball watching!
I think we also need a good Defensive Midfielder to protect the defense someone who can break up some attacks and a good ball winner. From the reports here we really need Tana to be part of the back line though i hope he’s still as good as he used to be.Mario did you watch the highlights on some Tv/Media webstream or what. The chaps from Tunisia on You tube jst have a clip on the Tunisian goal and J.Musonda’s red card
well guys, we have to commend Faz and everyone involved, for once we have reasonable preparation going into afcon despite the organization being so hectic. remember we have nothing to lose and everything to gain, no one thinks that we can beat Cam. african foot has moved on allot and we have been in a grey area for a long time, this change in effort can mark Zeds return to the mix. we must somehow bring back our confidence, our self assurance, our self belief, our deep pride as people…
…i want the team to do well, but like SA, this is a stepping stone/building block for the WC qualifiers, the team must start to pride itself on strong defense, we must carry everything we learn from ghana to insure we win qualification. it might not be today, but i think if we sustain our effort, our day will come again.
No need for excuses from the team. FAZ and the government have done their best. a
