  1. Honourable Banda! will you pliz tell the zambian people how much this contractor is paid and the duration of the contracts, further tell us how much money was allocated towards the work on the same road?

Civil servants are sick and tired of sacrificing, while you and others in Power swim in money! their money! just your trip to Kabuyu, you must have been given a huge allowance that can pay 100 civil servants! Lets ask your acountant how much you spent on your trip to Kabuyu?
We need transparent in all gvt activities, b’coz its our tax money! Our gvt is not doing us a favour to work on zimba-livingstone but its their obligation to do so. no credit for that, action is all we need!

  2. The re-construction of the Livingstone-zimba road is long over-due. I am happy to learn of this information. Please, GRZ, make sure that you do a sound job on that road this time around.

The last time I used the road in January this year, the journey was sickening. Apart from terrible potholes the time it took to move from Zimba to Livingstone was too much. And so please, work on it seriously.

  3. Honourable Banda, we welcome that the road is finally going to be done, am just surprised that the vice president has to announce this development, one wonders where the Minuster of Transport is doing.

And well said #1, these guys usaully think they are doning us a favour yet its their duty to di that, these guys are so big headed when in power, thet really luck the values of Corporate Governance.

  4. We have had several promises and pronouncements about this road. i do not believe you until I see work done.
Last time it was Lupopo mwato, not its this equal size Banda. The Livingstone Road kust lie the Chama Lundazi Road do not bother zoz in power.

  5. Livingstone -zimba Road leads to the Tourist capital. The Lundazi Chipata Road needs urgent attention

  6. I drove on this road end of last year, its pathetic, a short distance that took me an hour and half or so. I hope its done the section between Mazabuka and road joing Chirundi also has serious pot holes. I hope the Mp can lobby please we need good roads. I get annoyed coz i always pay my Road tax.

  7. Why doesn’t govt allow civil engineering students from UNZA repair national roads as part of university projects?

Let our students learn hands-on-repairs while studying for their degrees. Our students should be able to build roads, bridges and dams while at university and learning project management issues at the same time.

KEEP OUR STUDENTS BUSY AND INVOLVED!

  8. Its hight time we tried other means of tellng our government to act on roads dvlpments! Lets try to utilise th courts, maybe when we have a judgement that oders gvt to compensate people whose vehicle, trucks etc have developed machenical problems as a result of poor roads! we need a land mark case! where people think its impossible we go on and try!
You never know what the court may order! food for thoughts! what are the Legal experts think of this? and pliz I know you may insult me in responding but just think about it for once.
Any department that insure the safety and good roads network is taken to task.We pay alot of money just to clear a second hand car from Japan and other fee!

  9. #7 YOU ARE RIGHT. MAYBE THAT WILL EVEN REDUCE DEMONSTRATIONS AND UNNECESSARY CLASS BOYCOTTS HAD STUDENTS BEEN GIVEN THESE HANDS ON JOBS.
