Southern MMD members told to embark on vigorous campaign

Share

MMD Southern Province Chairman, Solomon Muzyamba has called on MMD members in Mazabuka district to embark on a vigorous recruitment membership drive to overturn the political landscape in the area.

Mr. Muzyamba challenged party officials to sacrifice their resources despite transport problems dogging the ruling party by embarking on a door to door campaign and to woo more members for the party.

He said the MMD under the leadership of President Mwanawasa has done alot as evidenced by the booming economy.

Mr Muzyamba urged party officials to explain the achievements of the rulling party especially in Southern Province where mines are being opened up.

He cited the openning up of Albidon mine and the Sugarcane expansion programme at Zambia Sugar Company in Mazabuka as some of the developments taking place in the district that can help sell the MMD.

Mr Muzyamba was speaking in Mazabuka when he recieved several opposition party members who resigned from the opposition to join the ruling party.

He said the resignation of senior UNIP and UPND officials meant people in the province were begining to appreciate the MMD.

Those that resigned include Enock Ntobolo, former UPND district trustee and UNIP’s district secretary.

  1. Are you sure the expansion of Zambia Sugar Plc is as a result of MMD? Please cadres stop fooling us like that. Too simplistic in reasoning and this is why our people tend to doubt people who have been behind the desk for so long.People expect better from the learned group than such as exhibited in the MMD South chairman. What a lawyer!

  2. I’m just trying to visualise how Sata would react if he losses another presidential election. I believe that if we were all totally honest with ourselves, then we would all admit that Sata is the main threat to zambian peace and clean democracy.

  3. You know what, its actually funny! The New Deal government has claimed alot of success to its name. But we all know that the original seed was sworn about 11 years ago and no Presdent has influence over prices on the London Metal Exchange. I hastly give credit to the New Deal era for fiscal discipline and prudence, agricultural scores (though not enough) and ofcourse the political/economic environment for steady economic growth. But in ernest, nothing new, nothing radical… Its business as usual… Maybe the mineral royalties move is a winner… It was a bit radical (Though we deserve it)… Lets see how it turns out… But Mwanawasa could turn out to Zambia best President thus far!

  4. #3 Kaunda is the best so far because we can easily see with our naked eyes the develpoments that he did. Even independence struggles by our neighbouring countries that took a lot of resources was visible. The MMD is better apprecited for bringing the chinese into our country that have no regard for the suffering of the majority in the country. I hate the chinese now that I can see how they are engaged in dirty businesses. They are greed ceatures. They can supply arms to Mugabe at this time when the monster is mistreating his own people.

Kaunda had his weaknesses as well and his views on China ain’t that different from Mwanawasa’s. But having said that, I think zambia would’ve been a much better place to live had Mwanawasa taken over from Kaunda and not Chiluba…Chiluba gang-raped our country with his friends.

  6. BaZulu you have a small brain to critically analyse Sata, Is it not Sata who told PF cadres not to go on streets protesting for the last elections? he encouraged PF cadres that political parties are not big than Zambia,That is to say political ambitions shouldnt be put first before the interest of our nation. Over your comment you are below par.

    be honest with yourself.
sata is just a power hungry thug and tribalist, he is the biggest threat to zambia’s peace.

  8. muzyamba is trying to earn a mame for himself and become popular. honestly i never heard of him before Ms.Moonga`s case or this sugar thing.he wants to be recognised by LPM.

  9. So old Daniel has started working huh!I concur with # 3 Palata.Levy sometimes jst fails to show leadership when zambia desperately needs it.
The whole SADC meeting was a Sham.

  10. So it is Mr Ntobolo and not most of the UPND group that resigned to join the MMD. Please, let us avoid alarming Zambian people for nothing. Clearly, it is only a few individuals who may have just been frustrated in the opposition and now want jobs or something in the MMD who have defected. yaba.

  11. Come on fellow country men & women.Do we nid 2 b reminded if Michael Chilufya Sata is an angel & a peace maker in Zambia’s Politics?Sata is just an Old tired man & a political thug who does nt mean well 2 our wonderful country.I’ve no kind words 4 dictators & tribalists like Sata coz my children wil neva live freely tmrw when am gone simply because they r Bemba,Chewa,Lozi Tonga,Tumbuka etc.Sata’s type of politics is belongs 2 the stone age era and is a recipe 4 anarchy.Zambia needs leaders who r a uniting factor and can stand above petty politics. At the moment, i’ve no doubt tht HH has those qualities tht cn take Zambia forward in unizone.
