Share

People in Senior Chief Mweemba area in Sinazongwe district wake up to a rude shock when the body of a woman they buried a month ago resurrected.
Headman Simankawa told a ZANIS reporter who rushed to the area that NJikile Muleya who died a month ago resurfaced.
The headman said the villagers saw Ms. Muleya in full view but they were afraid to touch her.
He said she used to come from the direction where she was buried at 05:00 to 07:30 and from 17:00 to 19:00, thereafter, she disappears.

Headman Simankawa said Ms Muleya who was from Simankawa village was seen for four days and the villagers assembled to have a glimpse of her though they could not communicate with her because she was not answering back.

“When you call her she will just look at you and turns back, people were afraid to touch her and when you come closer to her she starts walking away,” the Headman narrated.

She said Ms Muleya was seen while she was well dressed.

The headman said the incident has never occurred adding that the whole village was amazed.

He said Maamba police were called to get the picture of the woman but when they arrived she started walking away and disappeared in the bush near the village.

  1. Take heed that no man deceive you!!the signs of the devil are working and hey!that lady is dead and shall never resurrect till Christ comes again.reda scriptures and it’s writeen.the deveil is at work.don’t be afraid coz He is with you all way to the end of age!

  2. “Woman reportedly resurrects in Sinazongwe,” or “Woman purportedly resurrects in Sinazongwe.” These could have been better headings in the absence of medical or official proof LT! Last week we had “Late Mudenda” scoring for Zambia now we have the story of the resurrection. Also, let the editor proof read the news please “died” is the word I believe that was written as “dead!” Anyway, you are still better than The Post.

  3. The English is appalling! Another line is “The headman said the incident has never occurred adding that the whole village was amazed.” I guess this means ‘such an incident has never occurred before’. Where is Marta Paynter? MHSRIP

  4. A comment from Maamba Police could have added credibility to the story. As the story stands it is not collaborated by an independent source:how do you believe it and for that matter even proceed to publish it? You may be dealing with a homophobic character (if you know what I mean). Please add flesh to your story.

  5. Total rubbish! Even since Jesus’ REPORTED resurrection, he has not been seen in recent times. When you kick the bucket, you are gone and thats it!

  6. Please send relief food to this area as soon as possible before we hear more hallucination from these hungry villagers.

  7. Its the work of the devil, and in the end days we shall tricks from the wicked one.Be aware he can perform such tricks.

  8. We can easily say the villagers were hallucinating if it were just an individual person. Now the whole village and not only one person?OOOOPs who knows what the Lord wants to prove? This kinda thing once happened around 1982 in livingstone, when a Church leader’s wife died and the body was kept in the house for about2 to 3 days.On a sunday the man asked all the moarners to leave since it was time to go worship the owner of everything on earth. He and most of the people left to worship and praise God,upon return, the sister ressurrected.I can’t explain this but a more radicle person will be able to contradict. No one is as smart as the LORD.The devil also has his own way.BEHOLD….

  9. this is just so embarassing.

what if some international folks are looking at this blog, mwewo you’re a disgrace to the country because this spelling and grammar is unacceptable.

  10. # 6 Analyst, thanks for your observation. Indeed, you reminded me of Marta Paynter! She was good at these corrections. I really miss that lady. One highly educative correction published in the Times of Zambia went as follows: “Do not say ZNBC is along Alick Nkhata road!” It is on Alick Nkhata road! (May not have been ZNBC that was cited). 11. I dont even know whats going on,the reporters grammer is not making any sense. Please find better people than what we have.thios is the reason why will never develope.

  12. Remember sensational reporting is always the work of tabloid journalism such as The Post. They care less for facts, checking for error, confirming with the source or accused, weighing on repercussions and consequences, or damage to the person or persons under attack or the credibility of their name. Their objective is not truth but to sell, business and sensationalism. LT is above that.

  13. The devil has intensified his tricks. However, he is fighting an already lost battle for my Saviour Jesus Christ already shouted “It is finished”.

On the reporting, I think LT is on the right track. We don’t know whom they are using to make sure we have something to read about Zambia. It could grade 12 school leavers. At the end of it all, we who claim to know English can still make up for the errors and get the full sense or moral of the stories.

  14. discussing abt spellings and grama leaving the subject matter is actually nosense, what is import is you have understood the point, english is an adopted language which you want to rule over your local home languages. Look at countries like Norway they have made Norwegian their official language which is good, imagine if you are Tonga and you were taught in Tonga at school! you can understand and get right even the toughest quez. Some children are considered dull coz they cant use english the adopted language this is really life colonialism.

  15. WHAT I HAVE BEEN WONDERRING ALSO ABOUT LT. IS THAT, DOES IT MEAN THAT EVEN THE CATIGORIES OF WHERE TO FIND A TOPIC HAS BEEN WRITEN BY THE UNCOMPITENT LIKE ILITERATES? I ASK THIS BECAUSE SINCE I FOUND LUSAKA TIMES, THERE HAS BEEN A MISTAKE WHICH I THOUGHT MIGHT BE CORRECTED SOON. BUT I STILL FIND,IS IT ME WHO DOESN´T KNOW HOW TO READ OR IT IS THE NATURE OF LT THAT THEY CAN NOT EVEN WRITE “HEADLINES” BUT INSTEAD THEY HAVE WRITEN AS” HEALINES”. CAN LT. TELL ME WHICH IS CORRECT BETWEEN HEALINES, AND HEADLINES?

  16. Its fake. If you probe this story further, you’ll realise its sham!!! We need independent verification from medical doctors who certified the woman dead!!!!

  17. Why does there seem to be an abundance of ridiculous stories and happenings emanating from sinazongwe? This is where starving citizens were reported to be eating glass and female teachers at a school were waking up tired because somebody was sexing them up as they slept. And i believe the woman who abandoned her children was from here and of course the teacher and priest who drowned as well as floods.Cases of pregnant schoolgirls, etc… can someone please shed light on these peculiarities in the area?

  18. Prior to tip off of the NCAA basketball championship they ran an interesting segment on sinazongwe that showed a positive picture inspite of all the usual problems. hoops for hope.

  19. Hey! stop debating the editors grammar , English isnt our native language. If you dont have anything to contribute on this thread, go do something else or better still start your own flawless blog. Tamwakwata nensoni atleast whoever the own of LT has come up with this lively, frequently updated blog which most of you armchair critics would only dream about. Yes there’s room for improvement, but the time being you’re doing a good job LT for which these PHDs pay nothing, keep it.

  20. And about the story, if you don’t like it, go and hung because there others who are open minded and less skeptic and would like to get to the bottom of the story.

  21. Thats what happens if election results are not announced, people start day dreaming I think what the saw was not a woman who died it’s infact mugabbage predo of Zimbabwe.

  22. #17 and 24 sound points, how much do you pay for this daily updated news, go and comment trash on the post news paper.
Hallucinations and dellusions sldn’t be consired real ok.

  23. In Jamaica dem call it Duppy! That`s why you should all stop messing with me, becah when me dead, me duppy come back an’ haunt ya! Mwa ha ha ha ha ha…

  24. Nice contribution #26 !!! you’ve made my day! it’s wonderful to hear zedian’s contribution, its live and interesting! Wa ni sekesa maningi mwandi!!!

Let an English man correct his english! but we are zedian we have our own native language and we respect that!if someone mispell or error in gramma lets not laugh at them but control and appreciate! The story is cool it keeps us moving!
Lt continue with your work!you are really exercising freedom of expression .

  25. # 17 and 24 Some of us together with other wise people have picked up a point or two and added to our knowledge but your observations are points are ridiculous.

  26. #4 you are right to the point and I agree with you, absolutely. People, that woman is dead and she can never wake up from the dead.

Who even paid for the journalist trip to the scene? Is that how Zambia still wastes resources on nonsense?

  27. Another thing, LT please be reminded that you are on the world wide web. Its not only Zambians who read whatever you publish, but people in other parts of the world, too. Please, choose what to publish. This story can only be from people full of superstition beliefs-which is nonsense.

More, would you bother to check grammar and spellings. I am begining to think that you are taking your bloggers for granted. Write about serious issues and not rubbish. What can this story help with the country’s development?

  28. Africans.. especially Zambians.. What is gramma, and why you think ENGLISH is such a holy language?? Its only of the useless languages on earth. The problem is that most of what to be brain washed by that dull British language. Yes we can write and speak it, but what the f***k is wrong with misplacing its boring words? Human should just go for understanding that you purity! The woman resurrected, maybe she was sent by GOD to come and introduce a better language than this.. You should all learn Bemba.

  29. There is too much poverty in zed. What do yu expect from the villeges , hallucinations as usual.LT its freedom of expression MWANA,carry on.

  30. Guys the fact is she has resurrected whether her grammar is bad or not. LT, can you commission this woman to blog with us?

  31. #31 you c missing spellings and gramma is normal look at what you wrote trash, this simply means it’s not your mother tongue we jst use as a vehicle of communication since we have more than 70 languages spoken in zed. Watchout

  32. Those who are interested in finding spelling mistakes and language errors make me suck. They are not intelligent. What is important is to analyse this amazing story. But according to the bible only Christ has the power of resurrecting. He himself came back from the dead before going to heaven and is waiting for the last day to resurrect hi faithful followers. Now if people tell you that they saw a dead and buried person appear, don’t completely exclude the possibility. But you should know that when Lucifer was chased from heaven he came to haunt the hearth with other angels who were unfaithful to God. Those are called demons and all what is evil in the world is caused by them, includi

  33. #30 Nyati you are the crazy one. In RSA black people believe in sangomas and this story can be considered as possible. Get reat man!

  34. if english is not oour native language that is fine and acceptable.

if writers are unable to write english then that’s not a problem, let them write whichever language they know best, but it better be correct.

it’s no excuse to say that the mistakes are allowed because english is not our native language, let them write in any language they like then, even chinese, but it better be correct.

rememeber when you were small and couldn’t use the knife and fork so your mum told you to use your hands? this is the same principal.

to “puipil”, you make me laugh, you’re funny 🙂

  35. Tongas tongas, my truant subjects, what is happening to you? Last month, it was Munkombwe’s cow giving birth to a half Tonga half ng’ombe! Today Njikile Muleya rising from the dead. I wonder what next, don’t be suprised to hear it’s “Mazoka arises from Leopard’s Hill” or “VJ captured by runyoka”.

  36. all you people advocating bad english are twisted.

our country DESERVES to be represented DECENTLY all the time, inculding on the internet. why should we be represented as incompetent and unable? is that what we are? i don’t think so. we can hold zambia up to a higher standard than trashy spelling.

let us write in our own languages then, at least we will do it justice.

then we can have blogs for easteners, bembas etc.

  37. There is no such things as dead people becoming alive again. It is appointed for every man to die once and after that judgement. These are just stories people creat if they don’t have anything to do. More over, remember, witchcraft is real and it can be just one form it can take(image of the dead person)and hence ignorant people believe it is the late who has risen.
Stand up and preach the word of God instead of insulting!!!!!!!!

    regards

  38. kiki#43 how many blogs do you think we are going to have then? 72 and more it’s crazy, Blacks will never be independent coz everything we depend on the western countries imagine even the language, we use this english thing as a vehicle of communication esp in southern africa and swahili in central and part of north africa. I totally agree with the proff at UNZA who is advocating the widely use of local language in public and govt offices, people are anable to express themselves properly coz of fear of being laughed at by pipo like you who think english is something, man be independent as us from 1964

  39. as for you gift#44 you seem to dobble tongued, you talk abt god and on the other hand you talk abt witchcraft being real, i thought christians does not believe in witchcraft?
Those guys jst makes stories after taking chibuku and kachasu they feel euphoric and think the world is for them all.
Witchcraft doesnt exist it’s jst hallucinations ,dellusions and euphoria which makes pipo make stories.

watchout i will fire you, by levi mwanawasa.

  40. Its interesting to hear from you guys continue the fact that you all contributing is that you are afraid of resurrecting when you die. Whether you talk, cry, the fact is that the woman has come back to life. Whether you believe it or not it has happened and it has been written for you Skeptical people to know. Please give us more interesting stories you make our days keep it up LusakaTimes.

  41. levi nyo you are a donkey

you have not understood what i wrote.

on the one hand you say ‘you people think english is something’ on the other hand you say ’72 blogs is crazy’

is decent correct language (english or zambian) too much to ask for? all im saying is that the language we publish online must be as accurate as possible, english or nyanja or bemba or whatever, let it be correct. is there something wrong with that?

i don’t laugh at people who can’t speak english well, my granny doesn’t speak english at all. why the hell would i laugh? instead we talk nyanja together and all is well.

  42. Kiki, right on. English is our official language and the most widely used business language of the world. There is absolutely no excuse for journalists, who even study E110 at UNZA, to make such silly mistakes and excuse themselves because it is not our first language. We accept too much mediocrity in this country and we set such low standards for ourselves.

  43. You amaze me,those who have lived in UK will attest to the fact that, themselves Britons dont really mind if a foreigner’s English isn’t upto the scratch as long as ones able to communicate and read. So what! if the all world reads whats written on this blog, am sure a reasonable person would discern that this isnt a British blog, read on or piss off. No one has ever laughed at me ‘ ati wabombola’ but in my own country called Zambia it would be suicidal to bombala.

  44. well most of us are in zambia at the moment. i am.

mala msana wanzili you’re an as*hole and you make no sense

there is something so wrong about wanting the best representatives for our country?

probably you’re in the UK right now, speaking your broken english. hahaha! shame. i wish i was there to hear it.

mule sebanya, tell them you’re from zimbabwe or some place, don’t say zambia

  45. ……As if that isn’t enough, even employers in Zambia are now asking for ‘Excellent English’ speakers, loads of rubbish. Over the years i have learnt to mind important thing most and less for less important issues such as china ware(breakable) English. You critics get some life, you’re not English and will never be no matter how much you try.

  46. #51 KINKI, i dont blame you neither am i suprised to get that from you. I have been in your position before, i was the worst critic especially on Tv presenters and preachers, thats how low i had sunk. I had missed a lot of salient points from preachers at church simply because i was busy spoting mistakes in their English, typical person from the third world. So buddy, i wont waste time exchanging words with you. Good luck in your quest to rid Zambia of non ‘good English’ communicators

  47. KINKI, one more thing. What about starting your own blog may be then we may learn one or two thing about the Queen’s language from you. Thats a challege i have thrown to you, prove yourself.

  48. # 54 wanzili… You’re point about looking for errors is valid. I was like that too, having grown up in the UK and US.
Let’s not try to fault-find too much.

However for a site as popular as this it is unacceptable that trained journalists can write such crap.

Interestingly generations past speak such good english, my late father who came from a humble fishing background in Samfya spoke and wrote impeccable english albeit with a pronounced Zambian accent. Falling education standards are to blame I think. Anyway we can console ourselves that our english is the second best in Southern Africa, after the Zimbos. South Africans cant speak english to save their life.

  49. All your debates on English language are totally misplaced here. We all know that this language was forcefully and opressively imposed on us. I don’t like it myself, but I have no choice because I have to communicate with people.
Back to the topic at hand; such stories are not unusual in our Afrivan society, so no need to raise eyebrows. Some things are stranger than fiction. God can allow natural laws to be displaced just to show us a sign.

  50. Corrrection: “African society” of course and not “Afrivan” as I wrongly spelled. There we go with errors again…

  51. this is total nonsense only a politician can read such nonsense and foolish bloggers can waste time comenting.LOL

  52. Imwe, what those people saw was nothing but a demon impersonting the dead woman. How can she/it disappear uppon noticing a camera? Or what did LT really mean by ‘disapeared in the bush…’? The police should also have tried to take a picture even from a distance.

  53. #52 How in the name of your mother’s @$$*0 &% choose to insult everyone going thru this thread and others you write on? Surely it is not much to ask that you desist using your screen name p@nyo p@ko! Do you here me p@nyo p@ko?

  54. With all due respect to scholars like Prof M. Kashoke who have long advocated resort to indigeneous vernacular in schools and other national institutions and those who continue to toe that argument on this thread, i propose that you experiment with a blog in say,Bemba or Lozi, and let us all who have been corrupted by the imperialist British colonialists know the outcome of your endevour. If it is a positive one for you then we can all say “Abashe English!” “Abashe Chizungu!” “Kashoke and the indigeneous languages advocates in 2011!”

  55. I had a friend that hailed from Zambia (who has since passed),myself and my 10 year old son read the times everyday in search of a culture that African Americans no nothing about. So “dead” or “died” we enjoy knowing whats going on!
