  1. Long live KK. We wish you all the long life. You are a living unifier of our beloved nation. Zambia is proud today because you sacrificed alot to make us one people. We now stand a better chance to be succesful learning from your mistkes and your strength.. U r a humble giant..Long live KK

  2. #1 is just not appreciative of people that God has granted longevity. How many people in Zambia will live up to KK’s age ripe old age? Given the spectre of HIV/AIDS and the rate at which people continue to die in Zambia many people cannot scarcely dream of growing to the age of thirty. #1 is probably one of them. Whatever the case may be, and like bloggers #2 to #5, we all need to Wish well our venerable KK at his birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KK, wish you many more years so we tap your wisdom.

  3. If #1 does not know the difference between his/her 102 year old father in Mumbwa who has not received publicity, PLEASE educate him that Super Ken is a FORMER HEAD OF STATE and his father is a FORMER POACHER TURNED WIZARD; HE will receive publicity when he CRUSHLANDS in Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound.

  4. Gdef, I see you are just a child seeking attention. Stupidity my friend does you no good. Apply your energy towards positive things assh0le.

  6. Happy Birth Day HE! You will always remain the highest achiever of development in Zambia. Your educational policies were really great. I am an example of what education can do to citizens..very empowering!

    Congratulations.

  7. Happy Birthday to you, Doctor Kenneth David Kaunda, in advance. I wish you many more return and take care of yourself – for 84 years is quiet young an age.

The world still needs your advice on matter affecting the livelihood of peopel across the whole world. Many thanks for your lead in fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Please keep it up and do it much better in future.

  8. #1 Please sometimes you can just read the blog. You are not mandated to write anything if you dont hae anything to write. Very few of us have grandfathers and mothers, so when our former head of state reaches that we have cause to celebrate his 84 years on earth, he is an example of how we should take care of our lives and live long like him.
Happy 84 years Bashikulu and LONG LIVE WAMUYAYA we miss you at plot 1.

  13. As you celebrate your 84th Birth Day, kindly note that there are many Zambians who owe their current well-being to your far-sighted educational policies. While your crafted a wonderful system to educate most of us, you also saw to it that you had capable people like Mr. John Mwanakatwe. I would like to thank you for your clear headed ways of doing things, always placing the needs of the vast majority of Zambia at the top of your actions.

Congratulations, I cannot explain enough how I feel and what I think about you. I wish I could meet personally with you to thank you. My kids have heard so much about you that they also yearn to see you. ZIKOMO!!

  14. Happy birthday old man!!We wish a healthy life.Thanx alot for your good policies and we are what we are today as Zambians.

  15. Dr. Kaunda, I am back. I really miss you at Plot 1. You would have ensured that Zambians benefit from the current high mineral prices, and there would have been 100 employment of all citizens with their great education you offered them. You are truly a LEADER and your life was an example on what Statesmanship means…placing the needs of the vast majority on top of all your actions.

On Zimbabwe, I feel sad that Mugabe had not acted sooner to let a younger man like Makoni take over from him when times were great. He is now surrounded by a vast majority of people born after Chimurenga who have no idea why there was guerilla war for Zimbabwe!! Land to them is lost in the midst of shopping!!

  16. The majority of Zimbabweans are not in tune with why there was all that fighting. They see their neighbours..Zambians and South Africans welcome investors regardless of their inhuman treatment of employees! They think exploitation of a black man by whites is fine as seen by the neo-liberal regime in Zambia. Soon all our kids being born will grow to think that being enslaved is fine because we have regimes now that endorse the very same things that Chachacha was against!
Finally, I really feel sad for Zambia since you left Plot 1. There is no systematic analysis and systems in place to ensure that our country becomes a better country tomorrow. All thinking hats are now worn by foreigners.

  17. funny that people have nasty things to say about KK…him and his crew achieved a hell of alot more than most!! i’m not too sure April 28 is a day to celebrate as its the day we lost the national team to a stray missile off the coast of Gabon !!

  18. Hearty congratulations Excellency KK. I wish you many more returns.May the good LORD bless you in your endeavours.

  19. Original Pundit,

I guess most of us have forgotten. You realize that this government has been really sleazy on the Gabon air crash. We have been denied the true facts and those in corridors of power clearly thrive upon our ignorance. Sad that LPM is no better than a village hoodlum by endorsing politics of secrecy, nepotism, tribalism and corruption. I really abhor him and his followers. They are so shallow and unable to see the larger picture.

KK deserves a million medals and care for all that he did for the vast majority of Zambians. I have noted that those that dispise him can be linked to the failed policies of Chiluba, tribalizm, nepotism, corruption and are essentially criminals.

  20. Happy birthday BaTata. #6 If you look after yourself and take your medication you can live long with HIV/AIDS.It is no longer a death sentence!!!!

  21. These people that dispise our Old Man can be directly linked to our current poverty, corruption cases, theft of public resources, and are agents of enslavement of our people.

KK was and is a noble citizen of Zambia. His contributions to our well-being are there for all to see. LPM is a beneficiary of KK’s vision, yet his policies are those of a turn-coat. He has betrayed all the hope and aspirations of the vast majority of our citizens who have always hoped to realize their full potential via a decent set of policies in education, agriculture, mining, employment, land, etc. Instead, LPM has shown himself to be a follower of Lucifer, the devil himself.

KK FOR PLOT 1 in 2011!!

  22. Happy 84th birhday. Many more retuns wishes. How I wish one of your resolutions for this 84th year is to convince tour agemate across the Zambezi river that its really nice to retire after all.

  23. #33,you and i concur on some issues but are poles apart on your assessment of the current regime!! the die for economic growth has been cast and sanity returned to our economy.the ball is in our court to make the best of the prevailing circumstances.armchair critics are likely to be left behind as we now look to the next occupant of Plot 1 for “economic takeoff”!!

  24. Firstly, i would love to say happy birthday super ken! you’re a source of inspiration indeed. As for #28, im not sure what kind of economics you’re familiar with, but i know that foreign investment is very much needed in country such as zed. I do agree that locals shouldnt be mis-treated, but what else can be done to create jobs and increase GDP in the state we are in? I think reasoning will be the judge.

  25. #33 i too have some difficulty deciphering the beef you have with LPM’s policies. Apart from your likening him to a village hoodlum could you please challenge the policies he has been crusading viz the economy? While you are at it please demonstrate what is so turn coat about the positive economic growth (average 5%),sharp decline in inflation and interest rates, exchange rate stabilization,$1bn in reserve, booming mining and exploration sectors, decent foreign direct investment inflows – all this and more documented. Levy is the first man to lament that the poor are not being lifted out of their quandary fast enough but there must be a cake on the table first before people can eat it
