Government commended for evacuating Sata

Share

A political activist has commended government’s quick action to evacuate P.F Leader Michael Sata for specialised treatment.

Mr. Ferdinard Kapompole said the government’s move, especially President Mwanawasa, clearly demonstrated maturity in the country’s political landscape by separating politics from health care.

He pointed out that the gesture was a concrete indication that the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation was real.

Mr Kapompole told ZANIS in Kitwe today that all patriotic Zambians should pray for Mr Sata to recover quickly so that he would continue to lead his party.

Mr Kapompole advised that it would be immoral for anyone to politicise Mr Sata’s illness, especially the government’s quick response.

He also supported those in favour of the 50 per cent plus one vote as it would benefit for those political parties who would contest the election for the position of presidency.

On Saturday, Mr Sata was evacuated to South Africa for specialised treatment after recommendations from doctors at Care for Business Medical Centre in Lusaka where he was diagnosed with a heart attack.

  1. Please, let Sata die in peace, he does not need your prayers because he is already guaranteed of a place in the Kingdom of his father, SataN.

  2. We wish to mapologise to you all for the mix up that caused the old mans’ problem.Given gave the old man too many young girls at that Namakau place of his in Chilenje. In addition he made him a strong concoction of Viagra much against party advice.Guy also came with lots of Cigars as if to smoke the old man out of this world. But the old nut also did not seem to have finished with the girls and hence his saying…nshilefwa ililine!Politics, smokes and women=bad combination.Get well soon.Bachili balepemebla pa Namakau!

  3. I do not see how we can be congratulating the government when the inside story is that they only released his passport three days after he requested to get it back to go for his medical check up. The passport was only released when his condition became critical.

    Christian nation? – my arse…………

  4. Politics by hooligans will always display moments of sainthood and utter swings in actions. The fact is that 44 years after independence, we still do not have a healthcare system to speak about. Our doctors and nurses are only treated as chickenfeed. Our UTH does not have water running 24/7, and yet some lost souls see sense to congratulate LPM the incumbent for his lithargic actions when Sata had a stroke. What about our relatives who are not Michaele Satas? Who is there to fly them to Milpak Hospital? It is clear that Zambia is lost. There are too many citizens who praise the incumbent for his incapabilities and the whole nation is still holding its breath hoping for improvements in life!

  5. True, don´t see no reason why people should be brugging about all this when the majority(common man)die in UTH and sent out for medical check ups.The amonunt used to send these people(VIP….very inresponsible people)could actually make a little difference if it was used to inprove the UTH of Zambia. The gov´t should be realistic unless iam too stoned!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. We can not manage to send common man to south africa or europe but we have to send people who we fill can MAKE a good hospital which in time will benefit the common man.Remember the old saying “Rome was not built in a day” Sata represents millions of people in Zambia and those are tax payers who would not regret there money spent on him although they would want it accounted for.Zambians take this from me ‘SATA BEING IN OPPOSITION HAS HELPED AND MADE GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBLE AND CAREFUL FOR EVERY ACTION THEY TAKE’ he’s worth living beyond now.

  7. All concerned citizens we congratulate u for your effort by evacuating our old sata to South Africa. Big congrats goes to the head of state. Always learn to separate real issues from just mare issues.
