The Musokotwane Royal Establishment has called on Zambians to take up Yoga as a life-skill sport because of its ability to improve health and increase people’s lifespans.
Royal Establishment spokes person Mungaila Muzandu saying this in Livingstone, on Tuesday.
Prince Muzandu said it was imperative for Zambians to adopt yoga as a sport because of its potential to enhance and sustain good health.
He said yoga helps an individual to lead a disciplined lifestyle and eventual advancement.
Prince Muzandu said this in a statement released to ZANIS in Livingstone today.
He called on government and the civil society to incorporate yoga in their activities related to HIV/AIDS to enable it
play a mitigatory role in fighting the scourge.
Prince Mazandu said yoga was a sport like any other and should be part of the physical education in schools.
He said this was because it also promotes healthy diet habits that need to be encouraged at an early early stage in
one’s life.
Yoga, in general, is a spiritual practice or discipline that helps the individual unify his/her body, mind, and heart.

But I will tell you that every morning, 10 minutes of breathing exercises to ensure the full function of my lungs for a stressful day at the office is a real good starter for me. For our bodies to function properly we need to take care of them and this can be done by ensureing that we maintain coordination of the mind,body and soul. Lack of coordination in these areas results in various ailments such as chronic mental illness, obesity and heart disease. Research has shown that people of colour are more prone to heart disease and brain cancer. This is attributed to alot of factors that include clotting of blood vessels as a result poor circulation. One does not need a doctor to tell him/her to keep healthy.

What I meant to say in the last setence of my first submission was; can somebody who says Yoga and Christianity actually hav a point of convergence prove it from scripture.Yoga is spiritual but what spirit are we dealing with here.All we know is its spiritual.Isnt that a warning already…in some definition above somebody said “attaining union with the divine” what divinity?
Jesus has given us all things pertaining to life and to godliness.He has given us all spiritual blessings in Christ.

# 14, I’m not into yoga but I also haven’t been sick in a very very long time. All I do is eat and drink healthy stuff and exercise. I don’t have to go into trancedental meditation or whatever they call it. Beware of these things that are related to eastern religions. Most of them have spiritual attachmnts. So if you are a christian, I would advise to stop before you reach advanced levels.
As a Christian, you should get your self discipline from the Holy Spirit (read about the fruite of the Spirit in Galatians). The fact that some ‘good Cristians’ are practicing yoga doesn’t make it harmless. Some hardcore satanist are also ‘Christians’ on the side.
Lombe, I see you are the one who doen’t know what Christianity is. The Cross was Roman. Why Jesus hang on the cross was because the priests enlisted the Roman Govt to kill Jesus coz they couldn’t do so under jewish law. The punisment of the cross was given to the vilest of ofenders. If you’ve read well, you will recall that initially it was the murderer Barabas who should have died but people called for Jesus to be crucified.
This kind of death is very significant coz Jesus came to take the place of siniful man so that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. This means that even the vilest offender if he repents can receive pardon.

I have read about Constatine. He was a secular Roman Ruler who declared that he had converted to Christianity. Then, to gain more popularity, he odered that the pagans and ther traditions be allowed into the Christian faith. That led to the change of belief system. However, not all agreed to the dilution of the faith so they maintained their stand. These ended up facing persecution. Among these was a group known as the waldensis. The Waldensis fled to the mountains to avoid the persecution. This group and other groups maintaned the teachings and the original Bible Content – The Bible we use today.

Constatine wanted to take advantage of Christianity (many try to do that even today) but that doesn’t make it (Christianity)a bad thing. The only safeguard against deception is the Bible. If you are not going to take time to read it carefully, you will be deceived even to the point of being controlled by bogus prophets.
The devil takes advantage of one’s lack of knowledge to weave traps around him or her. That is why we are advisng against Yoga. It is one of the traps. You are given partial info so you think it is harmless. By the time you become aware of its spiritual side, its too late and you are hooked. Be watchful, the times are evil.
By the way, incase you need some dates,Constatine , a Roman General, proclaimed himself a Christian and later made an edict to combine Paganism with Chritianity in the early dawn of the fourth century. Constatine established the Sunday Law on 7th March 321 AD. The Law stated in part “Let all judges and town people and occuption of all trades rest on the venerable day of the Sun (Dies Solis)…” This is how Christians began to worship on Sunday. Like I stated earlier, not everyone agreed to this and many other changes. To this day, there remains a group of believers who have not accepted the changes that constatine made or caused to be made.

Don’t mislead people here but pesenting opinion as fact. And its not only drinking blood thtmakes somhing satanic – its demonic (spirits that have nohing to do with God) involvement. You are mistaken. Christianity may have been brought by colonialists but it did not orginate from them. Their culture too had to be changed by Christianity. They are now moving away from it and look at the confusion that is beginning to reign in their communitis. Because they have raised human desires above God’s principles, there children have gone wild, teenagers are stabbing oneanother to death and the list goes on. We Africans are even becommig more civilised than them.
Don’t hide in your ‘African Identity’ the Lord is calling you to be saved. When you read Bible prophecy you will be convnced beyond doubt that the Bible is God’s word. No other religion is so accurate.
As far as we all know non of the bibles history is accurate guys.
