Zambia Head To Kitwe

Share

Barely 24 hours after making a six-hour transcontinental road and plane ride from Swaziland to Lusaka, Herve Renard and his men this morning left the capital by road for the Copperbelt to begin their 2010 World/Africa Cup Group 11 qualifier training camp in Kitwe.
Zambia arrived back home last evening at 20:00 by air from Johannesburg following an earlier four-hour bus ride from Mbabane and made a 24-hour night-stop in Lusaka before driving up to the Copperbelt at mid- morning on Tuesday.

All 18 players from the Swaziland game that ended 0-0 in Mbabane on Sunday are in the side for the Copperbelt training camp ahead of the return leg against the Swazi’s this Saturday at Konkola Stadium in Chililabombwe.

The team will include six additional call-ups including midfielder Isaac Chansa.

The midfielder from Helsingborg in Sweden returns to the team after serving a one-match suspension following his red-card served to him at the end of Zambia’s 1-0 away defeat to Togo played in Accra, Ghana on May 31.

Another five players have been called-up into the team with three of those returning after missing the Swaziland trip.

Power Dynamos defender Francis Kasonde is back after recovering from injury, while Green Buffaloes goalkeeper Mike Poto and Zesco United Rainford Kalaba returns after being dropped from the first leg game against Swaziland.

However, the biggest news is that Renard has handed call-ups to two Tunisian -based players.
Strikers Fwayo Tembo of Etoile du Sahel and Owen Mwendabai of Avenir de La Marsa have both been drafted into the team.

Mwendabai returns after a three year absence while Tembo gets to train with Zambia yet again after briefly joining them in a pre-Africa Cup tournament training camp in Tunisia in January where Zambia played two friendly games against their hosts.

Meanwhile, Zambia will train from Arthur Davies stadium in Kitwe for the duration of their training camp on the Copperbelt ahead of Saturday’s match against Swaziland at Konkola Stadium.

Kickoff for Saturdays match has been brought forward from 15:00 to 14:00 due to safety concerns.

This is after 12 fans died in a stampede at the same venue on June 2 last year at the end of Zambia’s 3-0 Africa Cup qualifier victory over Congo-Brazzaville.

  1. Let’s see whether this blog doesn’t end into another bloodbath for Collins Mbesuma. By the way, anybody in Zambia please tell me what Kalusha’s been up as FAZ president? Akali ku popota pa Supersport?

  2. Well, new faces, same old story. Experiments are not needed at this stage. Mwendabai and Fwayo are not having any game time in Tunisia but are being called up. Who is giving Renard thsse players? We need to fine tune on tactics not concentrating on bringing nonentities in the squad at this CRUCIAL STAGE. Should we not win this Saturday. Kalusha and your cohorts will face the music from the Zambian die-hards!

  3. We hope and pray that this time around, they will do a good job. Imagine not participating in both World Cup and Africa Cup when both are on our door steps, i.e. South Africa and Angola respectively. This was our golden opportunity even to travel by road to go and support our National Team. Anyway, hope is not yet lost. We love our country and Soccer is a uniting factor.
So Go Zambia, Go and win

  4. If we dont win ….kaya until after 2010 no bola guys. But I think tizawin the last two games at konkola and hope the other guys will not make it…..

  5. Mwe bantu, Zed ni Zed. We will hammer Swaziland by 4-0 and top the group, I am not sure about beating Togo.

  6. #1 tili naba absentee president ba FAZ, imagine Dr Khoza going to supersport to do a match analysis, how low can one sink, amaguys balekwata ko ama standards, the man is now a president and what is he doing at supersport in the mideast of Thomas Mlambo nama yo abanankwe. (IWE LT WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOU, HOW CAN YOU SAY I AM POSTING COMMENTS TOO QUICKLY, WATCH IT MY FRIEND)

  7. Shidada togo is nothing, they are typical west african, only good in their environment. With the help of their ‘broda’ referees what do you expect. Anyhow, Fwayo, I am not too sure he will add value, who has been taking following his progress, I am not sure about Owen either. I thought Fwayo last played competitive football in the U20 worldcup, and since then he has been on and off. Anyhow we shall see, sometimes hunger to prove a point becomes productive. (LT AGAIN)

  8. May be FAZ should pay him more or as much as supersport, then we might have a resident president who can analyze is team to improve it

  9. Mwiinga woyi, walasa. I was wondering whether he still does it. It’s really cheapening himself and FAZ…think of the irony – he comments on tactics in Europe or EPL yet the football standards in his country have gone tits up.

  10. Let Kalu be on Superspot for the sake of Zambia. People here in Namibia love Kalu. Besides Kalu gets a lot of money for being on Superspot, by the way his “wife” is in Jozi.

  11. Owen Mwendabai again, pliz can someone come to this coach’s rescue!! Why keep on experimenting at this crucial stage. He can as well call back Rotson Kilambe and Harry Milanzi. Kaya.

  12. I’m not in the habit of multiple comments but bululu Shidada…

Is Kalu actually doing any good for Zambian football by discussing offsides and tackles with chaps who can’t be bothered whether Zambia make it to SA in 2010?

  13. What do you want him to do, FAZ chairman is part time is what you guys said when I was supporting Hanif. The guy is part time, what he does in his spare time is his bussiness. Kalu was at OT Airport to welcome the boys, he even travelled to Swaziland to be with the boys. Kalu has organised games in Iran and Libya. Even Wenger is at Euro 2008, commenting on matches and many other coaches are there. People you are just pointless.

  14. I love Zambia national team and think this time around we are going to clobber swazi by 4 goals to nil.Zed go go go !!!

  15. It was an open ended question that didn’t warrant that last bit but I personally think it’s bollocks what FAZ is going through, bululu.

Good luck to the national team and keep your shirts on…the ball is round – can go anywhere!!!!!!

  16. i like football but our team really makes me be worried all the time. we need to start looking for more players

  17. In as far as qualifying to the World Cup or Winning the Africa Cup is concerned, Zambia’s problem is NEITHER the Coach nor players nor the FAZ president!! The problem is PSSCNP (the poverty stricken and Stinking Collective National Pyschology).

The collective psychology of the Zambian Player,Administrator and Zambian fan is such that WE have NOT openned ourselves to the possibility that WE CAN. That my friends is our REAL problem.

Our WILL to do comes from the knowledge that WE CAN. When people really come to the knowledge that THEY CAN, They do amazing things… even vying for the presidency of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and having a reasonable change of winning.

  18. this team will not make it, we are headed for self destruct this weekend the coach is just another gay man from paris only interested in looking at our boys in the shower and not preparing the team to do battle and win games u heard it here first Renard will get sacked this weekend if zambia draw or lose his performance has been pathetic fire him or do him the red hot poker henry VIII!

  19. I see no offence for Gr8 Kalu to be doing whatever he’s doing,it means the appreciate his contributions been a great player he was yesterday and that should make us Zedians proud not everytime hating on him,no stop hate y’all haters.

  20. Absent President may not be good bút 2 dress down Kalu 4 being on SS isnt either. RSA is only a stone throw away let him be at lìg games here in Zambia and nobody will care aboùt his Soccer chats. Anÿway like sòme wise man has pointed out great ex football players and coaches get involved in analysing matches all around the world. There are pundits for the BBC like Alan Shearer, Steve Mclaren, Gary Lineker, Terry Butcher, Ian Wright etc Nothing demeaning i reckon as some would want to make us believe!

  21. Mwendabai and Tembo wont add any value to the team. What we need are players like kennedy mudenda, who are able to unlock defences using pace and skill. I will go for a 3-0 victory for zamba.

  22. Oh! By the way, even England Coach Fabio Capello was working as a telly analyst/commentator after his sacking at Real Madrid before the England job. Examples on this one abound even greats like Pele, Eusebio, Charlton ve done it b4 and still do it.

  23. Yes, let us be proud of Kalu 4 being an analyst on supersport even Platini UEFA President used 2 analyse matches for French tv. Mwhile Mswazi will fall 5-0. Watch this space.

  24. Bati ba coach bale chinja sana ama players, next time it is Peter Kaumba to be recalled. I am sure someone is whispering to the coach cause how does he call players he has never seen play before. Ni ba Lwandamina aba le mweba

  25. Up and down useless:o thieves …debate “twalya again”…soccer unifier not politics! Go Chipolopolo Go HH not a thief!

  26. #23 5 GOALS???? nina akengisha? Don’t forget one thing..zed doesn’t have a reliable striker. Not until you find some one who knows exactly where the goal is position, not strikers who first have to put up ther head, search for the post, and at last hit the ball straight to the goal keeper, and hold there heads as if they even tried. I like chipolopolo, its just that the guys really disapoint me.

  27. Was the artificial Turf at fault for the draw?No I dont think so.
I just went to a community park here in Redmond and while testing out the synthetic artificial turf,I was like this should be no problem for Zambia because Swaziland will be on the same pitch as well.
I grew up in Chilenje south and our play ground is that bare Mr Roberts Ground.
Every player who has taken part in a Christmas tourney will confess that the next best thing to natural grass in the artificial synthetic turf.We need those in all communities.

  28. There’s been a footballing shock in Zambia where the host team is playing Swaziland. Our African Football Expert Mark Gleeson has more …

  29. I think its the right time to include fwayo and owen. Let ze coci call sinkala in the mid.that is where we were outplayed by the swazis.not fwayo and owen NO PLZ!

  30. I agree with all those who say this is not the time to start calling and trying out players. This should have been done when they played libya and Iran.
Something stinks here as Boniface Simutowe said this week, this new coach is being thrown players. Where has he seen the recalls Play?
As for Kalu, we do not need him to be at FAZ house 24/7. Even all past preseidents worked full time jobs. He just has to deliver with sound decisions and Judgement on the running of soocer. I hope Zambia qualifies i see a lot of turmiol coming if they come short!!

  31. I want to agree with most of the guys that Owen or Fwayo won’t add value now.If F.Sunsu Jrn did not get a chance to play will these guys play. The team has more strikers (8)Kolala,Mayuka,Jacob,F.Sunzu,Chris,Fwayo,Chamanga & Owen.Where are the all going to play? The Faz technical commitee is just confusing the coach with these players.Like Stanley #32 says the Swazis are strong in the midfield.Thats where we needed to reinforce.I hope Rainford pitches and of course the return of Isaac Chansa is good news.I hope Chamanga is benched this weekend and Jacob starts. At times the chap just runs about like a headless chicken. He had a bad game on Sunday.

  32. As long as you have Lwandamina on the technical bench, Zambia will go no where.I have seen good players get finished by this man’s hetrad he doesn’t choose players based on quality but only those who can lick his boot. The new coach should be careful about this man because he is planning his down fall by advising him wrongly as can be seen by the inclusion of Owen and Fwayo at the last minute. This issue of, because we came from Mufulira together is not helping at all. FAZ should stop this corruption and appoint a more deserving deputy coach.

  33. Gentlemen with due respect, please let us avoid insulting innocent political parties. What has PF, UPND or even MMD done regarding the national team heading to Kitwe to prepare for saturday? This is not a political forum but a soccer discussion.

To the issue at hand, I predict a 4-0 bashing of Swaziland by the Chipolopolo. These small teams just gets excited at home to upset big teams.

  34. Give the guys a chance , i think playing at home will be an added advantage and i dont believe that swaziland can beat zambia at home , by the way the boys know whats at stake , all their careers depend on shining at africa cupand world cup that is if we qualify and lets rally behind them and give them the maximum support we can render.

  35. #22 but they are not association Presidents, tell me one association President who is still doing soccer analysis. You see forum members, please do not mistake criticising Kalu is play hating, please do not confuse the two. Kalusha was once Coach and Vice President of FAZ, because it was Kalusha I would imagine you guys saw nothing wrong, yet you found something wrong with Shamutete being ZCCM chairmam and CEO! No one needs him 24/7 at FAZ house, but has he even spent 1/24 at FAZ house lately? And by the way how is much analysis a benefit for Zambia?

  36. I do not anything wrong with Kalu analysing soccer on supersport.People why are you so petty? In Zambia, generally, people who are couragous and ambitious are not usually welcomed. All we is to bring people down to our low levels. Look at what we have managed to do to Mbesuma. As much as I agree that Mbesuma has the responsibility to chart his destiny, I strongly believe the zambian public has helped significantly in bringing him down. But Kalu is resilient and you have failed to bring him down. We need to market Zambia through Zambians. Zambia does not have heroes. Just look at the programe line up on the ZNBC WEBSITE and you will the photos of Hlubi Mbolya (Nandipa)reason: we are not proud of

  37. What time do you go to work. You are blogging too much. I am not saying you cant blog and man wherever you are working they are paying you for doing nothing. Or maybe you own a kantemba internet cafe.

  38. our own.

Michel Platin, the President of the richest continental soccer body (Uefa)does analysis of French Television and no has ever raised eyebrows and by the Kalu does those comments in his personal capacity and not as faz president.
Leave the Guy alone. That is why the whole nation is domant because couragous people are scorned in Zambia in preference for the cowardly people who can not stnad up and be counted.
Enough is enough. We are tired of your pettiness. If the presence of Kalu on s/sport is unpleasant to you then watch other things. FAZ Presidency is not a fulltime job guys twapapata. Lets look at bigger things like hopw we can woo the coporate world into our football.

  39. I have come to realise that most of you guys here are naive soccer fans and very few of you are analytical soccer followers. You utter things based on your emotions and have little regard for the hard cold fact that your coach Renard is inexperienced and possesses very little tactical acumen. This is the reason why he is calling unknown players in the middle of the qualifiers. On the other hand Swazi coach, Mashaba coached Bafana Bafana with pride and had a succesfull stinct with the South Africans not too long ago. He took the SA Under 23’s to the Sydney olimpics where they bowed out with pride.

  40. Mashaba has already created the rapport with the Swazis and commands a lot of repect in that small moutain nation. The Swazi language Isiswati is very similar to the Siuth African Zulu language therefore there are no language or communication barriers and so is the football culture between the two nations. Mashaba is going to outwit or outsmart Renard and send home 8000 or so Zambians who are going to get squeezed in the small copperbelt stadium with their tails tucked in between their legs. I forsee Zambians throwing messiles and bottles into the pitch out of frustration and the next thing to happen Renard will be fired.

  41. Do not be fooled by the rankings the Swazis have been in the wilderness for a long time because of poor form and lack of self belief and I think in Mashaba they have found a man who can take them to the place where they are supposed to be. If football ranking had a reckoning or bearing Englad would have qualified for Euro 2008 and Greece would have never been named the European champions. Watch this space. I predict Swaziland 2 Zambia 1.

  42. Please leave Kalu alone, he was my first boyfriend but he opted to marry that fat Dutch woman, whom he has divorced.

  43. Iwe ka Kasuba (#46, 47 & 49) ka ch@ka$la ichindike kolwe. What are you talking about. If you are Mswati’s asslicker, then you are on the wrong forum. You are just a frustrated ***** who needs help.

LONG LIVE CHIPOLOPOLO, LONG LIVE ZAMBIA.

  44. #46, #47 & #49 Kasuba you are the most intelligent man on this blog, Don’t mind the insults you are being petted with. It’s just that in Zambaia we are so narrow minded that we resort to insults everytime the other person has a view different to ours.

  45. #52 Yea that’s true. I don think there is anything wrong with Kasuba giving us another perspective regarding this weekend’s game. Afer all football is a cruel game. The other day I was watching France ruthlessly getting smashed by Holland 4-1, but the French were not too bad may be they were just unlucky. Feel welcome brother Kasuba

  46. #52 & 53 Kasuba is a man with an international outlook to situations. I admire his analytical skills. Go Zambia go ba Kasuba

  47. I hate bad language but I would like to say ba Kasuba has some dignity cos regardless of the insults from menatally retarded and brainwashed fans he doesn’t insult anyone. ” For what the heart is full of the mouth speaks”. A frustrated soul spits out evel, insults and hatred but I think ba kasuba just wanna offer a different voice to how we view the situation we are in

  48. I agree with # 52 and # 53. Zambia will never develop in anything as long as we live and rely on past glory. Fact be told, we lost it when we appoiinted Renard, period. The time was too short and the man simply lacks a tactical approach to the game no wonder he doesnt even know which players to fall on. What mandate was he given when he signed the contract? If we lose against Swaziland which is most likely, then we are out of both the CAN/ World Cup 2010, meaning the physical trainer aka coach will have nothing to stay for. Its true we beat Italy and quatemala but that was then. The weeping boys of yesteryear are now punishing us for our own selfishness and greedness.

  49. I quote from Kasuba #47…’and send home 8000 or so Zambians who are going to get squeezed in the small copperbelt stadium with their tails tucked in between their legs.’ #53,54 and 55 do you subscribe to such insults?? If you do MISULA shenu together with ka kasuba.

  50. #57 machekelele musono wa hae ba kasuba is ma man and don insult him you moron…..what a disgrace to africans

  51. Shilefwaya lubuli ~ Umwana ashenda atontonkanya nyina ukucila. Thanks a lot all the sensible people who are speaking on my behalf.

  52. Ndekunyela for insulting somebody u don even know just bcos they have a different view to what you are saying. That’s a shame.

  53. That STUPID ***** is insulting innocent Zambians that will crowd Konkola Stadium to witness Chipolopolo shoot Swaziland 4-0 for no reason. And senseless chaps are supporting him. y sink so low. this is not a fan forum for IMBECILES! ZWA!

  54. Ba KK, no one is supporting. Its him who is changing names and writing on his behalf. Its the same person just changing names and posting them to support his foolish comments.

  55. Mashaba joined the Swazi team after they fired their Belgian coach about three weeks ago. In that time he has not called up any new players because he doesnt know all the players the Swazis have got. He relied on what he found and on the local technical bench he was given by the Swazi FA. It was too late to buid a team, just phyched up the players. He’s played three matches, one away to SA(friendly)which he lost and two home, one win and 1 draw. Swazis dont usually lose at home regardless of who the coach is, but they dont win away either. Lets only criticise the coach if we lose our home games. Most teams last weekend lost or drew away apart from nigeria.Insults will not help us.

  56. #47 iwe kasuba. we beat swaziland. small teams always play well at home. away all the small teams which won will be beaten. Mashaba gives zambia alot of respect. we beat those boys.

  57. # 42 Michel Platini worked as a Pundit full time at ITV and now he is UEFA boss- FULL TIME. Ever heard of Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley, Geovani Galli, Ruud Gullit,David Pleat and Jimmy Greaves? All ex-greats now Pundits. ESPN has Shaka Hislop and Clarence Seedorf-PART TIME- and Emmanuel Petit ex-Sentanta Sports who u know. What we are saying is nothing wrong for Kalu to do what he likes in his FREE TIME. PERIOD. In Europe they do not have Presidents like in the Zambian sense. They have C.E.Os who are full-time and as such cannot do punditry. For instance in Scotland there is Godon Smith an Ex-Great and Pundit. Kalu is Iconic. Accept. Criticise him for other things not punditry on SS.

  58. Insults will not take this forum anywhere. The preserve that we enjoy of using real/fake names should not be abused. The forum is meant for people to share ideas, argue proffessionaly and reasonably, differ on principle yet in the vain of fostering development and ties btn contributors. So, my appeal to all myself inclusive is that as we air our views, opinions or expertise we should embrace and accomodate each other.

However, i dont agree with Kalu analyisng matches on SS when he can do it on our local league on ZNBC, MUVI or MOBI

  59. Kasuba (#47) interesting analysis, although I must disagree with you. I do not think Swaziland will beat Zambia. As pointed out by #65, Mashaba just joined the team recently. The draw in Swaziland should not have totally unexpected as pointed out, we have not won there in a number of years. Swaziland have to prove they can win on the road. Now, like you, I doubt the technical acumen of our coach, he is yet to make a believer out of me. His call ups are worrisome. For instance, Mudenda was left out because he was sick for the away tie. He scored for his team over the weekend and yet he is still missing from the team!

  60. #69 granted, the only thing I have observed and correct me if I am wrong, I think he has paid attention more to SS than he has to FAZ, I might be wrong, maybe there is something I do not understand. For the record I know all these names you are mentioning, maybe it is the issue of full-time and part-time which I need to fully appreciate and isn’t it time we made that a full-time job because I thought now soccer in most places is a profession?

  61. By the #69, I cannot remember the last time Kalu was on our local TV doing the same punditry he does for SS, how ironic, and to add salt to injury he has keft this to Matimba and Patrick Nyangulu, you might not know how low quality this analyses are because maybe you are not based in Zambia.

  62. #43, Kalusha made his name playing for ZAMBIA, Nandipha made her name in SOUTH AFRICA. Let our dear Kalusha who I have great respect for, do something for ZAMBIA before jumping on to anything that will not benefit us, I was asking to whose benefit is out president doing all the analysis and no one answered me, gentlemen we have work to do in terms of football, and if FAZ is not willing to get their hands dirty then who will? God?

  63. Pundtry on commercial channels like SS, Sky, BBC etc are not free. Analysts are paid to do that- Alan Shearer refused a Blackburn Coaching post because he is employed and paid to make football commentry for BBC. Kalu likewise is paid by SS. He is not doing it for free, but he is doing a job. Former president eg Mtine, Phiri, etc have had fulltime jobs and FAZ presidency was parttime. Its not FAZ which put food on their tables. Kalu needs to support himself and his family by working be it for Super Sport or whatever. The FAZ secretariate is not run by the President but by the Secretary General. With internet Kalu can work from SA and be uptodate with FAZ affairs than by phone from Ndola.

  64. cont..
Lets not just critisize for the sake of it. Has any body complained at FAZ that he is not working? Before Kalu’s time did we ever hear of our team playing friendlies in far away places like Iran, Libya etc? Since he came our team has camped abraod several times, only that we do not have talent in Zambia any more -lets face it. When was the last time a league team from Zed went beyond second round in Africa club competitions? Is it FAZ to blame or the lack of talent in our teams? The Powers, Devils, Worriors of yesteryears had players of great skill & determination which we dont have today- the’re no idols like Chola, Ucar & Kalu for young players to emulate these days.

  65. WHO CARES WAT U ALL SAY?? Wait for Saturday thats when we can say sumthing sensible Eish.Africa all we do is talk Critise talk critise Y’all should shut up and see what happens then Blast who ever messed up…Go Zed Go!!

  66. Fellow bloggers, did you know there was a Kalusha Foundation Trust an NGO? I found this info on Dutch and German news websites. I googled it and there are over 10 pages on it and Kalu. The man is working quietly. I’m impressed with what he is doing. If you want to know more just google kalusha bwalya.

  67. lmwee leave kalwisha alone, He is a person just like you,Umunenu he is busy making money.Bakoswe imwe do yu think being a FAZ president is job? Go to any western countries people are working 3 to 4 jobs iwee busy criticising kalu. Do yu think if tht prevailage was given to yu can yu abandone it with the situation pa ZED? Mukalapyafye nakasuba ku zambia uko While kalu is getting RICH evry day iwee busy criticising koswee iwee wake up, DONT BE IGNORANCE, NAKWEEBA.

  68. Kalusha is so far doing a good job.If you dont like him go and contest the elections. If you criticise the coach its understandable because he is just appointed but as for Kalu he won so put up or shut up.
I agree that we dont have the players that can match the likes of kalu, chola, makinka etc etc.I however think we are amking good progress in recovering from the Gabon disaster as slowly our players are breaking into more competitive leagues of late. What we need now is a marketing structure for our young players. How many qualified soccer agents do we have in Zambia? Please lets not just criticise we can also do something from the arm chair.Lets take the FIFA exams and represent our own player

  69. This blog is now bolling. Plz let us stop talking about kalusha and kasuba. Let us concetrate on analysing sunday game. Insults are no gud if u are a christian,we shud remember that there will be a de of judgement. So let us respect God and pray 4 a win.

  70. #43. Mbesuma could not make the team at Pompey, Maritimo Portugal let him go and lastly the Turkish club released him. This is three teams in three years. How can you attribute his failures to the Zambian public? Your not making sense to be honest!

  71. Am glad Mwiinga, we are chatting, sensibly now. I agree with you that Kalu MAY be spending more time in RSA. What we need are C.E.Os for the FAZ Premier League and the Association istself on FULL TIME basis. Thats how football is run in the modern era. But do we have the resources and WILL?
As for punditry at SS there is money. am sure its not for charity. ZNBC are a sham, a disgrace. you wonder where they get their lousy analysts.Am sure u now appreciate why you need pundits that have played the game big time. You Mwiinga and other fellas on this blog, given a chance can do a much better job analysing football matches on ZNBC.

  72. #85 but iwe, ha ha ha, anyway I am glad we are chatting indeed, I am a peace loving individual you know. I thought so, that there is money in punditry but does it accrue to the association or to the individual? For ZNBC I have major issues with them starting with their DG who is so aloof and does not even know what is going on half the time, the chap is getting money for nothing. I think like someone said we need to structure these things a little bit, the whole supply chain management, I heard that National Sports Council is on a talent identification programmes for 2011 in all sports disciplne, I am of the view that FAZ could ride on this. Naleka kukamba pali Kalu bangakumenye pa blog.

  73. Zambians are concerned about small things, no logic in debates, why are people going on about Kalu. Go to BBC Sport and see how logical people are chatting, no insults, no name calling, only sense.

  74. #84 Mbuzi

It is not my faulty if you can not understand simple English and when you say I am not making sense what exactly do you mean? Only the sensible can see sense in what I have written.

It is true in Zambia generally the successful are public enemies number 1.

    #84

    What is sense?

  75. #86 Mwiinga

The money that Kalu is earning at supersport goes to his personal account because he does the analysis in his oersonal capacity as Kalu and not FAZ President. More so he doers the analysis in his free time and moreover the FAZ PRESIDENCY is not a fulltime job so he is not stealing time from his official duties.

Let the man enjoy the fruits of his early days labour. He is already paying back to the community by being FAZ president other he would have sought permanaent employment with supersport or BBC.

    Keep it up Kalu

  76. There are very few, ex players as smart as Kalu. Kalu and Ponga are smart that is why they are on Supersport. I thought Zambians are supposed to be happy to see their own on a leading channel. Besides, Kalu lives in Jozi. What should he do in Z? I don’t think even David Beckham can express himself as well as Kalu.

  77. #88 I agree, in our country when u are at the top they want to bring you down. That is why it is important that players conduct themselves in a pro manner. Mbesuma was found in a tavern when the national team was in camp. This is one of the many examples of his own undoing and not the public. Any way Mbesuma is not news anymore. I rest my case.

I should not have said you are not making sense. I should have asked you to elaborate more.. I will start taking English classes asap after that I think I can be able to debate with You.

Zambia 2 Swazi 0 perdiction!!!. by Mbuzi

  78. Kemps #90, see my last comment on #86, for Kalu I will not say anymore, just one question, if he leaves in Jozi like Shidada said, don’t you think one of his many responsbilities might suffer at the expense of another? And like I asked before since football is now a profession, don’t you think having a CEO at FAZ would help other than a part-time president?

  79. Commenting on #88, Mbesuma is a disappointment. I say so because he’s probably got more skills than some players plying their trade in top european leagues, the problem has been his attitude. We believed in him so much, thats why we feel let down. The zambian public did not cause that attitude problem, it’s his.

  80. Height!! I always tell

Portugal had looked so impressive in qualifying for the knockout stages but Luiz Felipe Scolari’s reign ended in disappointing fashion.

Scolari, who takes over as Chelsea boss next month, had suggested their lack of height might be exposed by a physically superior German side.

But it was a failure to defend set-pieces that proved their downfall

  81. 92 and 93

You are showing maturity in your debates. Keeo it up gents. We are together in this problem (poor Zambian football seeking improvement)

  82. Much as this is a public forum for healthy debate it is strange to see how much posters are abusing the hospitality extended to them. I strongly feel the moderator must do something about some posting that are ‘offside’. I post on BBC sports once a while and you will never see abusive language inspite of how you differ with other viewers. Even on kickoff.com it’s so user friendly except for guys like Professor. Ther must be a way of barring posting which are abusive. Maybe we must revisit ground rules.
