“He said government does not know how to express gratitude for such a gesture”..
How about giving some picture evidence that LPM is alive and recovering!!!!!!
He’s alive but in a critical condition…They can’t reveal the pictures
Who says the cabinet is not stable. Are you trying to blow your own trumpet or something? That just shows why unstable or jittery you are … stability is silent!
” Cabinet is stable”, I think Mpombo is trying to tell us his job’s stable, but I have him to know that he shouldn’t be too sure about that until he sees the President back and well. Right it’s like saying he’s standing on firm ground when it’s actually quicksand. Get well soon Mr. President, if not for anything else, but for the sake of characters like Mpombo who will be left running around like headless chickens if the scales were to tip the wrong way.
can someone please update us on the current status of our president LPM as he is going for other operation
Nachilila …na everyone’s zeep on their lips is open for official staements now. Loleleni a bwele mwine mushi!
check this out new pary website; thecitizensdemocraticparty
“Kanyama Union Baptist Church Chairman, Ryan Chitoba” Is this Chitoba the same guy that the ACC were after some time back?
Ba ka boke, who asked you?why wont you tell the nation that cabinet is stable?
You are all trying to protect your jobs. Some of you are worse than me, you have no penny in your pockects because you have not been saving.
I can imagined what would have happened if “lpm” had passed on for real and parliament was dissolved.
imwe bambi ta mu kwete ne mpiya to start compaigning its a wake up call for you guys interested in politics.
The cabinet is ‘stable’ trying to figure a way out of this tricky situation.
Big ups to you # 8 for fishing out the corrupt element. It definitely is that same scalawag.
I do not think its a sign of stability where every minister wants to be heard, rather there should be one mouth piece.Osathi lelo niba Mulongoti, mailo niba Kabinga, yangu mayo!
Actually this statement makes us think that Cabinet is not stable since the illness of LPM. Why announce about the stability? who asked him? Was he responding to a Journalist’s question or what? Why him a nd not RB or our usuals never gets tired Mulongoti?
‘Stable’ is the new buzzword in Zambia
# 12, haven’t you already figured what is happening here? Each one of those ministers making the most noise are doing it as a way of political posturing to keep them in good graces with the first family. They know that the only way to keep their jobs to keep flapping their mouths and hope that someone might communicate their “concern” to Paris. It’s a mouth flapping contest.
hailed the reconciliation between president Mwanwasa and Patriotic Front Leader, Michael Sata????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? OMG
lelo lelo…..shakafusex uluse hope the boy has been saving. if he finished the money on slaughtering the chicks then hard mwai. Batata ba Mpombo what made you say this? something fish guys… ok when ba mwine returns home he will resign on medical grounds but ni big blow guys muli pa on your marks big time…ba mwana chite u will leave that Austrialian varsity.
Does anyone of you chaps understands the word “stable” or mule sata fye?
…these just so much nonsense happening in Zambia!!!
Ok, Levi is alive but the fact is that even if he recoveres, he will never be healthy enough to function as president. Now, what does the constitution say regarding how long a siting president can be absent from office due to incapcitating illness? What we should be focusing on is how to move forward with choosing another leader because in as much as we love Levi and would like to see him back in office, reality is that no one has ever suffered brain heamorrhage and managed to recover as a fully functional being…I know this is hard stuff but thats reality. We need to move forward as a country while we keep looking after him as a statesman for the rest of his days…God bless him.
the only defense Mpombo knows is against a shaving machine!!
You need a stable person to state that the situation is stable. Mpombo, between UNIP, MMD and flopping all over the floor for LPM, is surely not stable!
Umwana uwa chimwela limbi na lala. Ni kumaikumbate bushe ta mwaunfwa? Its a natural phenomenal. Let think deeply about the future and map the way forward while cherishing his memory.
The world never stops to turn.
He is on life support, there is no guarantee that he will breath for himself if they remove the machines. Why els would the carbinet be unstable???????
Myself #20 is talking sense has we can not run away from facts which are that LPM will never rule this country again and all we need to focus on is the way forward in choosing a credible replacement. But the biggest question is who is capable of replacing him and from which party?
whats up wit this new word ‘stable’ huh?ok that aside, howz ba levy doing?guys lets keep praying for him.Ba levy get well soon for zambia’s sake.mwebantu george chilumanda alikwisa?bushe naishiba ati ba levy balwele?
Hahahahahaha @ No. 22 “flopping all over the floor for LPM, is surely not stable!”
almost pissed in my pants – hehehehehehehe
Its very simple; all the country needs to do is follow the stipulations of the constitution which are that the VP takes over for 90 days within which we should have an election. my only worry is that Levi is warshiped in the MMD, thus it will be dificult for cabinet to accept that the man is no more evn though he is still alive. Just listen to Mpombo saying “Zambia needs Dr. Mwanawasa for him to continue with his good economic policies”, the man’s time is over, let the constitution guide us.
Mbombo could be one of the best possible candidates . Now days people who are able to change and adapt easily like Mpombo are winners. That ability to change and be abreast with new comers shows that he is receptive to new ideas and listen to the new generation. How many UNIPists have managed to survive like George? Few if not non . The reason is simple they can not change and adapt in time. They are blind to read the early warning signs. Therefore ba no. 22 do not easily dismiss George.
By now , probably he is 5 years ahead of you( 2012).
#26 You askin about George chilumanda oh sori so u dnt knw dat young man alifwa!!!!!!! CHI JOHN i think you have a point my brother..But think i have to ask wat bout LPM’s children do they go to school????
Ba mpompo is just in church these days is he working even i wonder
#29, you seriously can’t be serious!!! suggesting that Mpombo can be a suitable succesor to Levi shows how out of touch with Zambian politics you are.Mpombo is one of the worst politicians Zambian has ever seen, the guys moves with the wind, he never speaks reason, the next thing you will hear from him is a suggestion that Maureen should succeed Levi. Please ba Chuwi, don’t talk as if you don’t love your country, you are insulting the many who are a zillion times capable of leadng the country.
How come our Usual MMD commentators are quite ? Nishani kanshi…Thats unlike him..Mr Know it all. Usually he will be saying something even if noone is listening
So the Minister is assuring us that cabinet is stable ah? We would have been more assured had he kept quiet about it. Now we will begin to suspect some disunity in cabinet. He should have restricted his speech to thanking the church and giving us an update on the President’s condition.
Ok guyz we are being told Lpm family is by his bed side nanga abana ba lileka isikulu? Maybe they are now schooling in paris. I would advice them 2 get back 2 zed and continue with their studies. For the betterment of their future incase of anything.
What’s wrong with the Defence Minister saying everything is ok in cabinet and government?don’t you think these leaders read the crap on the internet too, they can read whatever the hell we are writing here and moreover we don’t have the full speech he gave so why only pick up the word ”stable”? It’s like a new word in your vocabulary on this website, you cannot even use your initiatives to google the word stable and know the meaning instead for one week you go mad when authorities say the President & govt is stable.Stable is the word used by doctors so it won’t be substituted for anything else so google to know the meaning,ya teenagers bwafya.
Let me seek clarification from you my learned collegues on this blog, for Mpombo and others to say “Zambia needs Dr. Mwanawasa for him to continue with his good economic policies” does it mean Levy has been moving around with his economic policies well tacked in his pockets such that even now he is lying with them in ICU or mortuary, whatever the case might be??? Or those policies are laid down on the table for everyone in administration to help in delivering??? The sentiments we are getting from MMD is that LPM is keeping those policies and no one will access them apart from him. Sad state of affairs. That is whywe cannot move on as a country, leaning on one person. No wonder the heart attac
#37 Mimi
It is a well known fact that Mpombo is a very close friend of Levy.Mpombo was a nobody till he was appointed by Levy and there are many in cabinet that were nobodys, they are part of the clique that will only say what he has said above or say Maureen should take over MMD Presidency and eventually stand as national President. These people have no hope but it doesn’t mean Mwanawasa has tucked policies in his pocket so no one can access them. The country will move on irrespective of what happens to our dear President because he has already given instructions and the party has a manifesto to follow however what Mpombo probably means is leadership from Levy is being missed,he is a great.
Looks like there is panic in the executive arm of govt. If not, tell us concrete plans on how to encounter what most zambians are envisaging in case of the worst case scenario? Why are we being given raw feedback. If indeed, cabinet is intact, why are we not getting decisive propossals on the way forward(constitutionally of course) to allow for the smooth transtion what ever the outcome. Is govt buying time to make plans to announce coincided decisions affecting millions by maniplulating their empathy to get less objection to their intended plans?
This is a dreadful time to play mind games. Zambia is for all of us and no one is more Zambian than others to get away with impunity.
The cabinet is stable, the country is stable and the presdo is in stable condition……..what more do we want to hear?
I hear you Zeddy but when you see how jittery everyone close to the corridors power is, one cannot help but to think that others are exactly in Mpombo’s shoes except they are not suffering from mouth diarhoea like him. LPM might be great and we appreciate his contribution but his time is up. All those who value life would not be going round wishing LPM back to his job coz it is too stressful for him. His true friends are those who wish him well so he come back home, step down and lead a less stressful life. Those who want him back in office are more concerned about their welfare and selfish desires and I can recognize some on this blog as well.
The kind stroke the president suffered as a result of bleeding in the brain has only two end results: 1 is death within a muximum of one month from the stroke date, 2 is recovery needing Intensive rehabilitation therapy, including physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. Under any of these circumstances, we have lost him. So, somebody…mostly the Arttoney General or the cief justice should be brave enough to ask parliament to vote on allowing the VP to take over pending elections. This is the only way forward and the earlier we do this the better.
i agree with myself, but those guys on the ground are scared, what they are thinking of are their jobs, but they are forgetting that the constitution protects them, do it right mwebantu and there is nothing wrong, even levy would be proud of you all for doing exactly that, besides these old politicians need to get with the program. ba VP naba Chief justice byopa..ati balanzala kuli maureen!!! nangu nga buka levy ninshi basoap!! we all zambians, we talk but ndise bamanta…if it was not for the braveness of abena chiluba(not showing luv here), we would still be with abena KK(much respect to them man), UNZA lead peaceful demonstrations to get things going
Ifintu tafili Bwino pa Zed bane….ubuchushi bwachilamo
I am watching ZNBC news and the first 10 minutes is about LPM and a quick recovery etc, I think twalanda pafula. In the meantime, people from Katuba constituency are complaining that they aee hungry, this is Shaka’s constituency
All of you are really dull
Cabinet is not stable. Their ctr column is falling. Mpombo knows that the next cabinet will do what they did to their predessors. There’s big divison as to who will be next Prez. So, either they hang on to Mwanawasa, or they peel off. No more tribal meetings at Mwachisompola or Levy’s farm.
Zed people open your eyes please and start planing for tomorrow LPM is not going to be president again, reason being its common sense even if common sense is not all that commom to some people,LPM this is his second time to have a stroke so who in the world can let a man like that have peoples(nation)future in his hands.we are not stupid has mpombo and his cabinet think in the name of protecting their jobs,so time is NOW.
It will take divine understanding to take Mpombo serious, i find it so stupid to imagine Mpombo in his evenings of his life with our ancestor Rupia Banda crying foolishly in that church. To me it is not Zaza who spread the first rumour, it was those two guys. Traditionally you don’t cry when someone is in hospital, they triggered the rumour. They keep telling us is stable,bra-bra-bra. If he is ever improving then let him be taken away from that ICU. It will best for the country if he is taken to a common ward. As a novists in the medical field the single mention of a Coma, ICU, Breathing operation scares me.
Ili lyashi lyakosa. I can only wish Ba LPM quick recovery. Lets start planning for the country’s future while we still have time.
Mpombo please tekanya. And do you think you are to be commenting on the cabinet of ministers? You should be updating us on the security situation is with Smith, or sorry I mean Mugabe. Its not fun, that warlord can take advantage of the near orphaned Zambians.
And let me tell you We-Mpombo, if you think cabinet will look at you just because you are LPM’s nephew, you are dreaming. We now contemplating on taking Chief Justice, or Amusa to lead us until a referendum to run an election. I am not praying that Levy dies like you Mpombo and others, but the best we can do for Levy is to let him stay home and relax. He has had too much to do with his healthy situation. On more time, Mpombo just continue grazing and stop talking on behalf of smart ministers.
Is this Duiker the new government spokesman or he is just worried that his job is hanging by a thread? Well, it is time to say bye Mr. Mpombo. Unfortunately, I don’t even know your qualifications apart from being a Lamba who switched parties after losing to MMD in 1991.
#14. Analyst, you’re so right!!
‘Stable’ is the new buzzword in Zambia, much like Ariel Sharon of Israel is in “stable” condition. Mmmmmmm, I wonder!!
Someone please tell me why it is the responsibility of the Minister of Defense to talk about the stability of the cabinet? Does the Minister of Defense speak on Cabinet matters? This is one fu@@**ked-up government for real!! The ass doesn’t know what the dick is doing!!
Zeddy, Mpombo is “stable”, MMD is “stable”, Govt is “stable”, Mwanawasa is “stable”, the economy is “stable”, corruption is “stable”, Maureen is “stable”, the cabinet is “stable”. I mean, what crap is this, and you want to tell us that we don’t know what the word means. We know, but does Rupiah Banda and his scalawag cabinet know, coz they seem to be calling things that are terribly wrong, “stable”.
#55 show us your maturity that language is unaccepted to the pipo of zed.you maybe in the USA but you still zambian.Grow up!!!!
Zaza is also “stable”
#41 Mimi.you have a very good point,i like that.
People!! can i get somthing right,Is mpombo surely the nephew to the president and if so how many of his blood line are in this gov..?to be honest i dont’t mind if one is related to LPM has long as the man gut brains or educated enough to be a political figure but in the case of Mpombo am so sorry it was a wrong choice ba LPM, And pliz don’t tell me the defence minister is also related to ba Mwine coz this all thing will be stinking to me.NO wounder the truth is not coming out of Paris and am sure no one will ever know until the farmily to LPM find a master plan for another dynesty hopfully Mureen.DODGY DODGY APA MUDALA KA!!
mr minister,
the country is not stable corruption is over the roof, there is a brain drain of talent tutors at UNZA. The president is not in a stable condition.
But you say inside cabinet things are stable. what would that be well lets see, your job, perhaps its that nice car you drive around, or that mansion you sleep in, salary package, your children’s tuition fees, or buzzing.
surely it is stable for mr minister. but Zambians shall be the judge of that stableness.
teta shut up you dont know what you are saying i therefore appeal to MMD to expell teta from the party
#62 use your brains to think and not the mouth. Why should TETA be expelled? For telling the truth? Face facts LPM is not coming to be president. But with our corrupt country I wont be supprised if they declare him fit to rule so as to continue with their posts at the expense of the majority of zambians
LPM is stable cabinet is stable the economy is stable!!!!!!
