Chilombo to stand in 2011

Share

Former Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister in the Chiluba regime Steven Chilombo says he will not stand in this years presidential elections due to logistical constraints.

Mr. Chilombo said he will stand in 2011 as a presidential candidate after launching his Trinity Christian party.

Mr. Chilombo has since advised Zambians as they go to the polls to  consider voting for a president who is God fearing in order to continue with the fight against corruption and poverty.

He urged all politicians to have a mandate that will improve the welfare of citizens through issue based politics and not politics of insults.

Mr. Chilombo said it is through politicians recognizing  the sovereignty of God, that they will be able to change their way of doing things  thereby  improving  the lives of the majority citizens .

Mr. Chilombo was speaking during a press briefing  in Lusaka today.

  1. JUST BE HONEST AND SAY YOU NEED TO MAKE A NAME TO STAND AS A WARD COUNCILOR… YOU ARE WELCOME… IN ANY PARTY.

ITS NORMAL TO MAKE NAMES IS SUCH A WAY…WE UNDERSTAND.

  2. Lets be serious, Not every Jim and Jack can win elections , If this Chilombo thinks he has suport let him start campaining for elections after 2011!! This time all we need are fewer and major parties (like America has only two) so that we dont split votes, but not deamers like chilombo. Dont waste our time.

  6. ADVISE TO CHILUMBO,DON’T USE THE NAME OF THE LORD ANY HOW SO AS TO WIN FAVOR FROM PEOPLE,AS FOR CORRUPTION IT STARTS WITH YOU, THINK WISELY NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND

  7. I cant talk about this man i dont know him.chi chi chi what chilombo ANTI-CORRUPTION Commission (ACC) commissioner Akashambatwa Mbikusita-Lewanika has offered to resign following criticism that he cannot objectively serve the commission as an active member of the MMD.

Mr Mbikusita-Lewanika said in a statement that he served the ACC to the best of his ability although some people wanted to mislead others that there was a conflict of interest between his civic duty as a commissioner and his membership of the MMD.

  20. Mr Chilombo was MP for Kantashi in Mufulira and was appointed deputy minister for Finance after a by-election for one term and was not adopted by the MMD for the second elections in 1996. He stood as an independent and got about 200 votes. He had shops in Mufulira which have since closed after he went into politics. He is now based in Lusaka’s Avondale where he has become born again after losing everything he had as a business. This is a proper story of “From riches to rugs”.

  21. Who is this Chilombo nobantu? Anyway its normal in Zambia anybody will just wake up and bubble anything, what nosense is this? taking pipo for a ride? Pliz no jokers alright.

  22. what i admire most about my country is the rich comedy resource…
