UNZA re-opens

Share

The University of Zambia, (UNZA) which has been on recess for weeks will now re-open on September 29.

This follows a decision reached by the UNZA senate which recently met to resolve the matter.

UNZA Registrar Alvert Ng’andu said in a statement that the senate concluded that the environment at the University is conducive for learning.

He said all students should begin reporting to the institution Wednesday in readiness for resumption of normal academic activities on Monday.

The university was closed following student unrest to protest against striking lecturers and unionised staff.

  1. #Great stuff! Let Ba-monko and momas vote the UPND’s HH into Plot 1! Thanks GRZ and we will wait for 29th September to see that you have allowed our educated friends to make a decider decision for Mother Zambia.

  2. HH waboola (HH has come) for change. HH has come for a real ray of hope that all Zambians have been waiting for.
    Viva UNZA educate HH.
Shame on under-educated Hon MC Sata.
Ba-Monko and Momas, this is our time and this is our moment as the educate young people and youths of the future Zambia – now starting with the MAN HH as Zambian President.

  3. ANYANDULA THINK THEY CAN BE VOTED FOR TOO LATE WE AINT BABIES THIS IS JUST YOUR JOB YOU MUST DO NOT FOR THE SAKE OF ELECTIONS.

    PABWATO PPPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  4. #9, you seem to be detached from Zambia and UNZA in general. Dr A.N Ng’andu is a Tonga man. What the well-educated TONGA BULL, Chengelo Alumni, is writing is that the registra of the UNZA is simply a Tonga man.
That is what TONGA BULL means for you people who need more education.
Otherwise, I advise you to do a bit more research before showing your ignorance on here – LT. Please, I beg you, research and research until you research no more.

  5. Failing for the 3rd time at UNZA amounts to UNZA-EXCLUDE and this will certainly be POLITICS-EXCLUDE for Hon Sata.
Viva HH for Zambian President come November 4, 2008.

  6. Already, Hon. Sata is on Zambian-President-EXCLUDE, for he has failed to win the Presidency of our great Nation on 2 occasions.

  7. More chiefs support RB

  8. let them behave this time coz we are tired of the closures wasting taxpayers money education aint free any where in the world this time it should be shut for ayear if they choose to become politicians there are so many parties willing to embrace them .we are tired of listening to students rhetoric of allowances .let ur parents give u enough money so that you dont bother us about it.Too much spoon feeding get a life u losers

  9. it is a pity there are just no options this time around old sick men , sugar daddies and under five ba zambia tuli muchibe god be with us coz the future is bleak

  10. Resining SA President T. Mbeki has left us, Africans, a legacy to follow. When you are tired and especially uneducated, leave it to those who can do a great job than you.

  11. #12 Thanks I do remember now. But I still see no point necessary in seeing things in tribal terms, and especially by the so called well educated. Isn’t that a misnomer or should we rightly call them educated-villagers?

  12. #12 thank you for explaining to these people, they label me tribal but they dont even know the educated men in zambia, the unsung heroes who work behind closed doors to better zambia.
#9 Mr Nkabwela(Diaspora) The man has even been Chairman on the board for Zesco. Its not only HH who is a Tonga Bull, we have several educated God fearing upright Moral citizens of zambia that do not seek personal glory nor do they induldge in corrupt practices. Tonga Bulls Stand Up!

  13. That’s what an election can do to a nation, unza reopens, fuel prices are reduced, an ultimatum is issued to ZESCO, and off course hogwash bills like emoluments for constitutional officers are sent back to manda hill………. Shame! We need a president to die, and to spend hundreds of billions on a bye election to do the right things!

  14. …….#27, great thinking and all the best as your join the educated group to led Zambia, make a good Constitution and leave at 55 years the normal retirement age for a Civil servant…………….

  15. #6 YOA’RE THE MAN, NICE SONG FOR DEAR MR SATA GOOD LUCK TO HIM.
YOU WONNA LISTEN TO SONG ? IT’S ON YOU TUBE ,JUST TYPE IN ( PF SATA A TEKE) ENJOY THE HIT.

  16. What are the under-educated Hon. Sata and PF cadres doing on this UNZA – highest learning instituion in Zambia – thread with the “PF (Poor Finisher) SATA A TEKE”, I am seeing on here?

    Reasonable Zambian

  18. UNZA is now opening, what about our fellow Zambian Citizens in Russia who are studying under GRZ BC and the Russian government arrangement?
Fellow bloggers, lets open a fund for those students in Russia. In fact, there are more Zambia Citizens in China studying under the GRZ BC -CHinese government scheme. Does anyine know what is happening to our brothers ans sisters in China? My understanding is that it is diffculty to get information out of China due to the Chinese government restrictions.

  19. ...viva HH. He is not retired or retarded..,'.! Remember the shootings at unza last time by those cops. Sata is a former cop, RB, ahh... Both are of the same education, morals, background, health, tho sata seems much mo sick than the other old fela. ...viva HH. He is not retired or retarded..,'.! 20. After being directed by Banda, what is with these fellas, are they okey, ama politricks nomba they are no longer tricks it is dejavu

  21. A sensible citizen must vote for a sensible leader who has a sensible team devoid of court injunctions and dual membership. Fuel price reduced, Unza to be reopened, farmers quickly paid their money…. Thats what you get when you have sick and old brains like RB, SATAna etc. We don’t want another state funeral

  22. Hon Sata is a 3rd generation UNIP member and a 2nd generation MMD member who must now rest! Veep RB is exactly the same as Hon Sata in my description above, except that RB(B) looks much better facially to due good habit. Both RBB and Sata have tried old-fashioned methods to take Zambia to new better heights but have failed. Someone said, “what goes round, come round.” Both RB and Sata are re-cycled politicians who have nothing more to try except get more from GRZ. Shame. Let them take a leaf from Mbeki – who has resigned from SA Presidency at 66 years.
The only MAN left as NEW TO ZAMBIAN POLITICS is HH. HH is offering new solutions to our Zambian Problems since 1964 independence day.

  23. I hope what is happening is not setting precedence that the “good” things we are seeing now should only happen when there is a bye election, otherwise let us vote another sickler into office so that things can get even better when there is another bye election.
Should it honestly take an election for things we are seeing happening now to be implemented by these politicians? Please let us vote wisely. We can receive all the gifts but let us place our vote on where it matters.

  24. Look at sata’s profile; police man, railway man, unionist then politician. Mwebantu please is this all that we have. Imwe ba Unza ats y ze university is closd from time 2 time, bcoz of supporting mugs like sata into government.

  25. Please guyz come on and aviod these in future and find better ways of resolving these problems. No wonder our universities in zambia are no longer producing quality graduates and we can not compete for international jobs.ok vote wisely its now your chance now to boot out the MMD!

  26. No 42 it is important to stick to facts. RB got his degree in economics way before HH did. RB also got his post graduate qaulification earlier than HH. RB has a wealth of diplomatic skills that HH evidently does not have. A minority President would need tremendous diplomatic and political skills in order not to plunge us into a Malawi style crisis. All reasonable people know that 22 MPs can never carry the day against 128 MPs. This would be an impossible task for someone with no stewardship experience or credentials. They should have just waited for 2011. Now they want to bring unnecessary crisis to Zambia for their love of Plot 1 and power.

  27. #49, have you (MODERATE) ever read the Zambia Republican Constitution of 1996 which we as Zambians are operating under? I urge you to desist from posting statements that reduce you to person who never entered grade 8 where all those who made it learnt some a subject known as CIVICS – which is essentially the Zambian Constitution.
I case you mislead the Constitution, it allows for elections to be held within 90 days of the death of a sitting President regardless of what numbers of MPs from any political party compose our current Parliament. I expect all PC users to be able to read (especially important National documents) and write.

  28. #49, Grandparent RB (73 yrs old) is ALRIGHT for Zambia except that his age demands that he goes to rest at his farm. Thabo Mbeki, 66 yrs, the powerful son of Africa has demonstrated that a person can leave the Country President’s seat for others.Since the age of ritirement for civil public servants in Zambia is 55 yrs, only HH (46 yrs) has a moral right to rule Zambia for the next 8 years and then leave it to us when he will be 54 yrs old in 2016, by God’s grace. The issues about RBB’s DIPLOMACY and all are good, but what did not he (RBB) do since 1964 in UNIP and now MMD which he thinks he can do now?

  29. #19 sillystar. what do u av against unza students. you dont even pay tax here. is it because you couldnt meet the cutoff point to go to unza and now are cleaning toilets and washing dishes in england to think you know best. parents get peanuts and strugle to even pay tuition fees. think before you post on LT. wembushi we.

  30. Sata, is a Dictator, Rude and has no respect for mankind, I recall, that when he was Health Minister, he used to fire people over the Phone. He even Deposited council Funds in his personal a/c, when he was Governor for Lusaka, hence got interest accrued and if put as President, he will steal all Economical resources for Zambia. So please guys, vote wisely.

  31. Ba monko, momas, mojos, chongs, walkies, divers, PGs and the rest lets vote for Sata, he is man of actions. Zambia needs short term workable solutions and long term.

  32. I can only vote for an Engineer,I will never vote till we get an Eletric/Electronics or any BENG/MENG/MSC/BSC stands.Ask China about their success story, they will tell you who rides their horse.

  33. # how do you know me,are you tracking my IP? My point is that Engineers are very practical, and practical leaders are what we need, not sweet talking politicians we have who just want to enrich themselves.
You know what joy comes with an achievement in Engineering? That joy drives us to achieve even more.Sad they trashed Prof.Chirwa,he could have made some serious real change.

  34. good news and thankx to the government but guys vote for Sata. remember, what has my learned friend minister lungwangwa done? mind you he was even at UNZA.he is even a prof in ‘ maybe anyandule’

  35. hey guys am for HH but i know he cant win these elections so i dont want to waste my vote afterall SATA IS not BAD AM GOING TO GIVE HIM MY VOTE VIVA SATA VIVA PFFFF VIVA BA MONK NI PABWATOOOOOFYE

  37. Hey! 58 You are the people that misled simple minded fellows. Was Mwanawasa an Engineer? Has he not left tangible things. Be wise my friend. You seem to live in the world of your own.

  38. SATA has no agenda for Zambia. He is just a noise cadre. Chigebenga chabe. Know at consulting witch doctors in Malawi. infact a friend to a witch is also a witch. Zambia is a christian nation. Abash Sata, Viva HH

  39. a tonga will not rule zed because of just being tonga…..they are too boastiful just like the other fella posting on HH.
i can agree with one blogger, its true sometimes some educated pipo are really bustards and want to their weight to be felt. will take an example to what happened to one west african country were he employed o academicians in cabinet……it was a disaster, the o cabinet had to quit….should be ghana or ivory coast
these time around just cast your vote, there is nothing to be wise about it coz you aint gona vote for a wise man

  40. WELL PEOPLE ARE NOT DULL NOT TO NOTICE THE SEDUCTION PERFUME GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO SPRAY AROUND TO SEDUCE US TO VOTE FOR THEM.WELL WELL WELL THANKX FOR REOPENING UNZA BUT MY NEXZT QUETION IS WHY DO YOU WANT TO FRASTRATE STUDENTS BY NOT GIVING THEM MEAL ALLOWANCES? IT IS NOT STUDENT FAULT THAT THEY USED THEIR MEAL ALLOWANCE FOR TRANSPORT AND MEALS FOR THOSE DOING PROJECTS AND PAYING FOR THEIR ACCOMODATION. WELL I PRAY TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER TO INTERVENE IN ALL CHALLENGES ZAMBIANS ARE FACING AND MAY USHER GUIDANCE TO OUR LEADERS SO THEY RULE US WELL WELL.AMEN

  41. A tonga will never rule zambia in this era, you still havent changed. You still behave as though you are in mapatizya or some bush in southern province. why are you different from the others in zambia?.why is everyone making reference to you? You may be educated but that “TONGAISH” thing is in you, thats why your HH will win.

  42. No wonder i cannot VOTE for HH all i have is tongas bulls???… My foot… Aint we suppose to be one Zambia one nation. Just the mention of that TONGA thing puts me off. SHAME ON YOU GUYS…

  43. Those who doubt HH phone lusaka at freedom park lusaka is on fire sata must work hard to beat HH.Dont be misled by what pipo say on this one pick a phone you get the truth on the ground live from Kamwala

  44. pabwato, every one is scared of us
    PFPFFPFPFFPFPF
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME MAKING FUNNY LINE UPS OF POOR DESPERATE CHAPS TO LEAD US.

    PA BWATO

  45. # 67,69,75,80 -fellow bloggers, aren’t you tired of insulting tongas just because of HH. throw dirt at HH and leave other tongas out. your comments are tribal and yet you call others tribalists . shame on you. remove the spec in your eyes then you will see properly before criticising others. stick to topic of disscusion UNZA!

  46. am very dispointed by my fellow zambians who seem not to know what the want.a vote is a secret and if i may ask some of the pipo making noise a not even voters. zambia needs economic managers not cadres, not tribalist. please.

  47. LT why do you soak us into this crap: garbage in, garbage out. others are even blogging in Tonga. This is nonsense. Do something or else I will stop my valuable contributions!

  48. Ati Panshi? pa bwa? Pabwato my foot. HH my foot. VIVA RB VIVA. This is not a case of the best candidate fellow bloggers. This is a case of a lesser evil. I shudder to see university students chanting pabwato. This is a place where Economics is taught as a degree program but you chose to throw away what you are taught and believe Sata’s 90 days theory. Come on, you u dont need to have a degree in economics to know that the 90 days theory doesn’t work. Because am educated, i feel insulted by someone who tells me that they can change the economy of this country in 90 days. As for HH, I hold no grudge except that he should drop his tribal tag.

  49. Advice for HH.

You have 90% of what it takes to be a President but you ignore 10% which is very critical to Zambians as a whole. Its not enough to say you are not tribalist, its also important to be seen not to be tribalist.

  50. HH has got money which is not well explained how he got it. a normal job doesnt pay that much. Ba UNZA students pls reason like #87. 90 day theory is not practical unless one is a kaponya or smokes so much that he is out of touch with reality. Thats why i support the comments of one of the bloggers who talked about Engineers being good managers. Most Engineers are not like Economists who are full of theories.

  51. I must admit that all of you are looking at personal issues rather than national interest. Now all civil savages are languishing without running development programmes bcoz of these so-called unforseen circumstances. We don’t want chaps who just pocket yax payers’ resources to make them fat. Lets look at someone who has many years to come. Zambia is not for old chaps who want to drain reources for their sicknesses or old age at the expense of development. Grow up you pipo. Put someone as head of state to take us far not one making us suffer. Vote wisely. Most of you are not even voters. Don’t mislead potential aspirants.
