PEO urges school girls not to abort pregnancies

Share

Northern Province Education Officer (PEO) Selisho Chanda has reiterated that government has not scrapped off the re-entry programme for girls who fall pregnant while at school.

Mr. Chanda has since urged parents not to keep their girl children who have given birth at home but to send them to school again.

He noted that education was an important factor to national development hence the need to allow the girl child to progress in the country.

Mr. Chanda said this when Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Lillian Kapulu inspected schools in Northern Province recently.

The PEO said government is determined to empower the girl child with the necessary education skills so that they were able to fend for themselves in the near future.

He however bemoaned a high number of abortion cases among school girls in Northern Province.

Mr. Chanda has since warned girls against aborting pregnancies because they were accorded second chances of earning education even after having children.

  1. That is good news. It will help the girls to be in school. the boys should also be kicked out of school for a year too. So that they learn to believe.

  2. Iwe Chanda, batina abafyashi not education. Wen I was at sch govt introduced a progrm calld FAWEZA and PAGE but balala.

  3. Tell them the truth about sex then they wont get pregnant, and tell them that it is not as nice as they see it on porn movies at simson.

  4. when we where growing up they told us that women had teeth so we stayed away and only started doing the unthinkable when we had reached 22 or 23 years

  5. Great News from GRZ. There is no need to be a MURDERER when you are still are young person – for aborting is killing unborn human life of the baby.
“He however bemoaned a high number of abortion cases among school girls in Northern Province” is worrying. Young girls leqve vaba-khul for baKhulu. Your time will come for you to have countless number of hours to do such things as married people do. After all, you risk not having children in future when you abort because you confuse your system. you also expose yourself to Sexually Transmitted Infections like HIV and Syphillis. careful u

  7. KWENA BA PONYAX MULI SHILU…

THATS A GOOD IDEA GOING BACK TO SCHOOL, BUT TELL OUR PARENTS TO EACH US THE TRUTH ABOUT SEX, COZ THEY DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN TEACHERS TRY TO CLARITY THE TRUTH..KUFUNDA MWANA KUFIKAPO..

  8. THIS MAN IS A PERFORMER, MR CHANDA MY (OTHER) MAN KEEP ON KEEPING YOUR WORK. NEXT TIME CAME BACK TO COPPERBELT YOUR CRADLE. cheers!

  9. Tell them the truth about sex and don’t lie to them because once they discover the truth on their own, they won’t listen to you anymore.Be honest with them for example don’t tell them that sex is not nice because sex is very very nice and it was meant to be nice BUT it’s a PRESERVE for the MARRIED.Point out that the pleasure they will enjoy for a short time in premarital sex have grave consequences likeunwanted pregnancies to STDs and sadly HIV/AIDS which ultimatelt leads to death. For a christian home stress our christian values.Tell them there’s time and season for everything under the sun.Medical wise sex reduces our free space of our Long Term Memory Bank which a student needs badly!

  10. Can I get a comment from a Christian PLEASE! am seek of reading all this rubish. GOD is real and remember the wages of sin is death! why not marry if you cant hold your piece?

  11. Shi Mpundu, the people who taught you christianity in fact are the worse when it comes to impreganting young girls. Read what is happening to sexual morality in most Eurpean countries. By the way, have you ever thought of the age at which Mary the mother of Jesus Christ was pregnant. About 15 years old. Am a Christian

  12. Our children esp those born after 1978 are un controllable when it comes to sexual matters. At times I wonder what could be the best approach. They seem to have gagantuaner appetite for sex at a very tender age.Pregnancies and abortions are now the order of the day. I feel sorry for them.Christ to come quickly. This is now more than Sodom and Gomora.

  13. “Be fruitful and multiply…fill the Earth!” that is Jah commandment and ordinance. No man, no time, no where can change that order.

  14. ABORTION IS NOT ONLY SINFUL BUT A CRIME. LEAVE THE LITTLE ONES ALONE. REMEMBER THAT IF U WERE ABORTED U WERE NOT GOING TO BE HERE TODAY

  15. The young people need someone to talk to about what they are feeling and thinking. We have to remember we were young one time, but we don’t want them to make the mistakes we made. Like # 9 said they were not told the truth to keep them from having premartial sex.
They need someone to KEEP IT REAL (tell them the truth) with them.

  16. #26 iwe,nga niwebo bachitile abort nga epowaba nomba?nokusabaila ulesabaila nga tapali..abortion is a sin,and a true christian can never support abortion as u are supporting 100%.offcourse looking at the circumstances most school goin girls end up staying @ home, but taking life aswell is not supposed to be supported as u are doing.those about to be born babies are innocent, waziba ka.thanks to mr chanda for encouraging parents to allow their children to go back to school after giving birth as life should continue.

  17. This is a tricky one….for you with kids….start as early as 3 years old…..wen they are ten it’s too late…with our world changing fast…kids are learning fast too…start with them at 3 years old…teach them the difference between good behaviour and bad behaviour…in simple language a three year old can understand…and change the language to suit there needs as they grow older…start early…and keep on singing the same song…when you lie down to sleep…when you wake up…. when you work….when you walk….instill it in there minds…it will guide them everywhere they go even when you are not there….Read Proverbs the whole book it has practical ways of living life…contd.

  18. contd….implement it in your life style as the parent or guardian and remember your life and they way you live it is what your children will learn from more than what you read to them from the Bible…let the words from the pages of the Bible model your life…so much it will be in your heart…that you live by it…that’s what your children will read..and learn from….All the Best….God bless you all.
