Budget will be on time- Magande

The Ministry of Finance and National Planning says next year’s budget will be presented on the basis of the 5th National Development Plan.

Finance Minister Ng’andu Magande has dismissed fears that next year’s budget presentation will be delayed if there will be a change of government after the October 30 Presidential election.

Mr. Magande says civil servants will always be there to carry on with government policies in their respective ministries.

He was speaking during a ZNBC television special programme ahead of the October 30 Presidential election in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, Sunday.

Mr. Magande said the money system has been worked on to ensure the team work is undertaken in an accountable and transparent manner.

Talking of Magande makes me wonder as to whether the post still has principles.Here is a paper that compaigns for Magande coz of some qualities they claim he has ,and the next minute their candidate is out of the race , they pick on a candidate with qualities at extreme end . A candidate they de-compaigned only 2 yrs ago with a party the described as the re-grouping of plunderers and have reserved the front page for him .It appears Mmembe and his team do not stand on any principles but merely self interest.

    Chumbwe said he was not that cheap to be bought for K150,000 just to endorse Vice-President Banda as MMD presidential candidate.

  72. May I also say one thing that I have noticed. What is happening now is that political parties are campaigning for the elections that will be held on Thursday. You will notice that big crowds are attending these rallies for whichever candidate. I know that the Post only shows Sata’s rallies as the most attended. Those are the same people that go to listen to HH and Banda. I must state that what people are doing now is listen to all their political leaders. THEY HAVE NOT YET VOTED!! So when you see crowds do not be overwhelmed, they go to listen not to vote. Therefore, all those making lots of noise on the basis of what they see on front pages of the Post should take heart.

    You can not trust the post as they have something closely in common with Michael Chilufya SATA. SATA will say something today and change the following day. If Sata stoped changing daily he would lose his identity for which we all know him. SATA apologised to the post for saying ‘I will have nothing to do with the POST’ early during this campaign because he realised that they were birds of the same feathers. That is why they have found it very easy to support and defend each other. The POST, just like SATA, cannot be trusted on anything. But I feel for the POST should SATA win because theirs will be regrets.

    5) He promissed to chase Chinese investors
    6) He promissed to call Mugabe as the guest of honour at the awearing in ceremony for presidency
    7) He has great regard for Mugabe’s policies

  128. SATA was in MMD longer the RB. SATA was in MMD for 10 yrs, a time which saw the worst abuse of office. They killed all the industries and sold off almost all council gvt institutional houses, but built almost none. But when Mwanawasa came he began to get the economy back on track. Many people begun to see themselves picking up in life, one of the examples can seen from the number of vehicles being imported in the country per month. SATA now wants to get the economy back to the first 10 yrs of MMD rule where he was the chief advisor to Chiluba and terminally supported the ‘third term’ so that they could continue running the country the way the were running it with Chiluba. Sad!

They have spent sleepless nights to do everything possible for SATA to gain popularity for this election, but they are in an awkward situation. SATA is very difficulty in keeping promises. The POST will cry their lungs out should SATA win this election. They will actually cry in venacular, like they never ever learnt English which they use to write their POST campain magazine (which used to be a news paper sometime back).
