MMD ‘opinion poll’ shows RB in front

Share

The MMD has carried out its own Presidential election assesment in which it predicts its Candidate, Rupiah Banda, will obtain between 42 and 46 percent of the total number of votes cast.

The ruling party says partriotic Front candidate, Michael Sata, will poll between 31 and 35 percent while, Hakainde Hichilema, will get between 16 and 20 percent of the votes.

This is according to a statement released in Ndola on Tuesday by Former Information Minister, Vernon Mwaanga, on behalf of the MMD cmapaign teams in all the provinces.

The statement said the MMD is also expected to do well in Lusaka, copperbelt and Luapula provinces.

It said the ruling party could actually do far much better in some provinces.

The MMD expects Mr. Banda to be the overall winner in Western, Eastern, Central, Northern and Northwestern Provinces, while Mr. Sata will emerge overall winner in Lusaka, Luapula, and copperbelt provinces.

The MMD however says it will follow in second place in Lusaka, Luapula and the Copperbelt.

Mr Sata will be in second place in Eastern, central and Northern Province.

Mr Hichilema will emerge overall winner in Southern and second place in North Western and western provinces but will be in third place in the other provinces.

Another opoinion poll carried out by the Steadman Group put PF leader, Michael Sata in the lead followed by MMD’s Rupiah Banda.

Mr. Hichilema was placed third.

Mr. Mwaanga said the MMD makes its own assessments of expected performance each time there is a national election.

He said over the years these assessments have turned up to be more reliable than opinion polls which have attempted, like the Steadman Group done in 2006.

  1. You cannot conduct a poll on yourself and expect to lose. C’mon VJ, Zambians have more sense that that. Just concentrate on taking those ARV’s instead of insulting our intelligence

  2. Dont stigmitize just argue nicely and with facts and points. Whats wrong with taking ARVs? ‘Musiye atopinge umoyo amwele yenango Munzako ndaba Chalo Chinzuna iwe kapena azaonako mailo’.

  3. He said over the years these assessments have turned up to be more reliable than opinion polls which have attempted, like the Steadman Group done in 2006.

DO YOU WHY, VJ? Because you have always rigged. Not this time around

  4. VJ you’re at it again, retire please we’ve had enough of you and your MMD. You’re more than welcome to conduct your own survey but remember that the hour has come for change. COme thursday we will vote in masses.

  5. MMD is losing to UPND in North western and western provinces. what they are saying is a big lie. In lusaka it will be tough for MMD because a lot of people want change. In central province MMD should expect very low votes. This is what makes Sata a leading candidate even if I do not support

  6. Why has MMD dismissed Neo’s opinion polls who’s polls they embraced in 2006? This old man VJ is up to something nasty. I wonder y the MMD campaign team even allowed an ordinary member to make such an important announcement. Anyway he has more experience in rigging.

  7. Lusaka it will be difficult but the number two they have given themselves is ok, think of Luangwa, Chongwe , Rufunsa, Kafue all these count as Lusaka and in most of them MMD is quite popular. I am not sure you have been to Northwestern, those guys will not let go of MMD in the near future maybe in Solwezi because of urbanisation. But if any province has seen developement in recent times its Northwestern. western I dont know but remember what they did to HH in 2006? have they forgiven and forgotten? Remember Saki is on MMD ticket now.

  8. And like the drowning man, who,in despair doth clutch the frail and weakily straw—-Thomas Horatius Delpho

  9. Great serious PANICKING nobapatipati ba-Mwaanga a ba-MMD. But this:
    “Mr. Mwaanga said the MMD makes its own a s s e s s m e n t s of expected performance each time there is a national election.”

your a s s e s s m e n t will turn out as a rude shock because president HH is expected to be the overall winner. Let us agree to disagree on these numbers and then meet on Saturday evening to discuss the post-election results.

This propaganda behaviour of trying to undermine president HH while insinuating uninformed minds to vote for RBB will not work. I am thus asking Veep RBB and the MMD to endorse president HH before it is too late for you will only have yourselves to blame.
    Vote ecHi-ecH

  13. #14 Start accepting defeat. Its never too late. I don’t believe the results in Lusaka, Copperbelt– for SATA TO LEAD!. LUAPULA WOULD BE NO SURPRISE.

LET HH CARRY OUT HIS OWN OPINION POLL TOO!

  14. how do u carry out an opinion poll of yoself. what steadman group and pangolin have said is true....in 2006 th same organisations released opinion polls accepted them becoz they were in their favour...what is different bout th recent polls...VJ accept def how do u carry out an opinion poll of yoself. what steadman group and pangolin have said is true....in 2006 th same organisations released opinion polls accepted them becoz they were in their favour...what is different bout th recent polls...VJ accept def

  15. Ba #20 you think God is listening to you wishing another person dead? or even discriminating against people living with HIV and AIDS? it seems some of you cant distinguish between elections, ARVs and AIDS is there anything in common? can someone educate me pliz!!! And by the way some of us dont believe VJ is so intelligent that he can single handedly appear in any election he feels like and rig and go back hoem and sleep! awe mwandi ubufontini te sana mwe!

  16. #3. I’m not taking a shot at all those well meaning people on ARV’s but just VJ in particular because he is part of the reason our country wallows in corruption

  17. #21, Msanide, ba-VJ Mwaanga is my relative (we come from Mapanza) togethe and I have respect for him. I know that HH will show all you characters who powerful our campaign team has been on Thursday 30th october, 2008. To that end, I a s s u r e you, Msanide, that I will not give up on president Hakainde Hichilema for he (HH) is simply the best candidate. However, I get it in your mind that I have no problem with RBB [good]winning this Presidential election or even Brig. Gen. Miyanda [better]. The best candidate for Zambian President is president Hakainde Hichilema with the mighty UPND Team. I NOW REITERATE THAT Sata is the worst of all and should not be allowed to go anywhere near Plot 1.

  18. Those trucks that were intercepted in L/stone. Ati they were bringing tilley lamps for polling stations. people, how can they, in three days, ferry lamps to kalumwange, chavuma, lambwe chomba? mwanya, even companies you are contracting are turning against you by informing the opposition about your shenanigans. Ati nkhani yalula ba mmd.

  19. Zambians yearned for a time a president would stand with another human being after kaunda’s frogs and dogs. The chance has come and they don’t want to embrace it. twanaka nabo bamukukulu.

  20. #22 cotinued.
Ba-VJ Mwaanga is my relative (we come from Mapanza together) and I have respect for him. I know that HH will show all you characters who powerful our campaign team has been on Thursday 30th october, 2008. HH is from Monze and I support him because he is the best candidate even if my relative is VJ Mwaanga. By the way, my names are Mugungulu Hamwaambwa Mwaanga in case you are the new man/woma in the (LT) neighbourhood. This is a true reflection of me and these Tonga bulls I have mentioned whether you like it or not.
Have a good day, Msanide, for I have to return to National duties now. Let us meet on saturday evening to discuss the post-election results after the sabbath ends

  21. Ba #24 d’on’t try to act like you are more intelligent than everyone here. If you do not know the connection between AIDS and ARV’s is then you need to just keep you mouth shut. What you are saying is akin to wondering what the connection between panadol and a headache is?

  22. These MMD guyz are not seriuos. There is noway sata can loose in Northen province.Sata has greater chance because he has managed shake MMD strong holds in areas like in Solwezi,Kabwe and to a lesser extent kapirimposhi where MMD won in last elections.Them they have failed to make impact in PF strong hold like Lusaka and copperbelt thats why they have turned to disgraced person like Chiluba. This Man has no principles and he has to castrated for his crimes.

  23. #30 I asked the connection between rigging and HIV/AIDS and NOT the connection between AIDS and ARVs coz i saw someone apart from you talk about VJ’s status and saying if AIDS has failed to kill him then blah… blah.. blah..Do you in your right frame of mind think no one knows the relationship between AIDS and ARVs. the fact that none of your relatives is on ARVs insures you from feeling the pain but imagine all those on drugs being scandalized in line with VJ here. Its not about being intelligent its about debating . Anything wrong with that?

  24. #36 You are the one that seems to have a problem with debating cause you are trying to set the tone of what goes and waht does not. The same way you make a case about having relatives on ARV’s we can make a case of the millions of people that are still languishing in poverty as a result of MMD policies. My basic point is that MMD has gambled with people’s lives and think they can be bought off by simple sugar daddy trick at eelction time. You and MMD are in for a rude awakening cause even though Zambians may be hungry they are not dumb. In a situation where a bad candidate like Sata wins an election..people like VJ should be apologizing instead of trying to think they are smart

  25. UPDATE: The Boat in Western Province!!!!

“The Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has questioned Patriotic Front (PF) leader, Michael Sata’s promise to restore the Barotse Agreement should he be elected head of State.Chieftainess Mbwanjikana of the Lozi people said following Mr Sata’s promise to restore the Barotse Agreement, she had asked him to explain why he did not do that when he was Local Government and Housing minister.”

  26. Chieftainess Mbwanjikana said in her meeting with Mr Sata, he mentioned that he would restore the Barotse Agreement and she asked him why he did not do it when he was Local Government and Housing minister.

She said Mr Sata could not give a satisfactory answer as to why he did not consider the issue of the agreement at the time that he was in charge of traditional leadership.

  27. Mr Mbikusita-Lewanika told the chief that the MMD was aware of the false rumours but no serious Lozi could take seriously Mr Sata’s political tactics of exploiting the Barotse Agreement.

  28. #37 Chill my brother or is it sister? i get you. No need to blow off. by the way am not MMD but non-partisan just interested in debating and exploring. we all know i guess how silly it is to do an opinion poll on yourself. I dont know why people like you are taking VJ seriously.

  29. “She said Mr Sata could not give a satisfactory answer as to why he did not consider the issue of the agreement at the time that he was in charge of traditional leadership” by #39 and probablybTimes of Zambia which I read earlier in the day with “Mr Mbikusita-Lewanika told the chief that the MMD was aware of the false rumours but no serious Lozi could take seriously Mr Sata’s political tactics of exploiting the Barotse Agreement”.

These are great postings and we will see where Sata will get in the Western Province on 30/10/2008 with that ‘fake’ promise which has probably made Lozis lose all the little trust they had in him. Viva HH for Zambian President. Together, yes we can.

  30. #45, proud civil servant, sorry I have not checked though it in a long time for I am busy with national duties. I will check it and communicate to you soon. Currently, I have a school email address which I have not checked properly since last week.

  31. And nw vj has cum wth statistics..is he telin us hw he has rigged the elections.old man,dnt push us too far..steadman group did an indpndt opinion poll.urz is a dream,a lie.an insult to us..

  32. We hope to keep seeing you here after elections.Dream on and if you peaceful wait for a humiliation after shock waves but if you party of the violence PF is organizing with machetes hauled in GBM buses, say bye bye to your family.MMD getting her 2006 mandate renewed decisively. This is free reminder without spending a penny.Violance will leave PF headless. The Measure of defeat Sata’s camp will suffer in losses within 48 hours of gambling will greet Sata with distress and a final heart attack in humiliation and shame that rhetoric does not pay.

  33. #45, proud civil servant, i have done the needful. May you have a blessed day.

Viva ba-monko naba moma, let us seal the HH campaign with resounding door-to-door and phone-to-phone campaign for president Hakainde Hichilema so that we can celebrate the inaguration nicely on 4th November, 2008.

I envision a Zambia whose people shall stand tall as PROUD persons instead of being timid due to lack of confidence and motivation. President HH has committed himself to serve Zambia to the best of his ability and so, let us endorse HH on Thursday so that HH can bring a better future to our children. Together, yes we can and we still have 1 full day to decide.

  35. #51, hehehehehe. I hope we shall meet one day. The UK is near, in fact I may be coming to the UNIVERSITY OF BATH for a visit soon.

  36. Zambia has approximately one day to chnage its destiny in future terms on to a course that will bring all things to be running well for all Zambians.
I am a carrier of a Zambia National Registeration Card (NRC) which shows that I am a Zambian Citizen. On it (NRC), there is nowhere written Tonga except the village of Chief Mapanza – which is i n s i g n i f i c a n t anyway for I have never been there sadly. I also have a Zambian P a s s p o r t which also has no reference to my tribe Tonga while it only indicates my NRC (Zambian Citizenship) number. So, fellow Zambian Citizens, it is us all as Zambians and not HH as a Tonga person although this is only true (HH being Tonga).

  37. Just vote for RB so that we have some sanity and stability in our land. The opposition are frightenning in their war talk and lawlessness. We do not need the bloodshed I can forsee just to satisfy some people’s lust for power.

  38. Internal polling is not strange or uncommon in a serious election. The odd thing with the MMD’s is that the announcement was done by a “wrong” person, VJ.

  39. Bane Father Christmas is in Durban. The cruise has finally got to Durban.

    Will be in Zed tomorrow.

Ho Ho Ho. Got to Africa on the boat. Ho Ho Ho.

Listern to the 3 main candidates for Zambian President and also see their profiles wirtten by MUSONDA CHIBANDA – I hope Zambia will continue to have peace for some TRIBALISTS are really bringing us as a Nation down.

  42. Maestro, thanks for yor invitation to Saturday discussion, for one thing you will have nothing to say on Saturday except joining me and others celebrating the continued peace in Zambia by credible people and not from your tribe as HH is not winning. Mark my words. Not tomorrow or in future. You Maestro are destroying your Tribal/language’s image further down. HH is not mature for presidency== STILL HAS TO ATTEND UNDERFIVE CLINIC FOR POLITICS.

Surprisingly, Iam beginning to like you Maestro. Iam not new on this blogg, only that I have another life besides blogging and love knowing what’s happening back home. No Zambian news wherever Iam.

  43. This might bring about tension and confusion in the country. The other two groups that did the survey were neither UPND or PF and they said Sata will win but then these Guys seem not to want to accept those survey’s they do there own MMD. Why cant they keep quiet and wait for the results. A survey is not the actual result but it just points out what is likely to happen. But MMD is using it for campaigning to show as though they are leading. V.J wants to rigg it seems to me.The way things are moving its scaring me. NO one seems to want to accept the results if they lost. The actions and words are not tallying on all presidential candidates.

  44. MAESTRO, If you want to know where Iam BASED, count the STARS on my flag very carefully otherwise you will be MISLED BIG TIME LIKE YOUR PRESIDENT HH.

  45. #62, and subsequent. Thank you very much. Msanide, I will soon concentrate on National duties until probably 2016 God willing. Take care too.

  46. Opinion poll, thats good one , becuause it means it can have more than 4o per cent error. That makes Sata a winner in the comming elections,The 16 or 20 percent for HH is too behind to catch up

  47. BRE questions Sata’s promise

    By Times Reporter

THE Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) has questioned Patriotic Front (PF) leader, Michael Sata’s promise to restore the Barotse Agreement should he be elected head of State.

And Chief Government spokesperson, Mike Mulongoti has said an individual leader cannot decide to recognise the Barotse Agreement because it is a constitutional matter which needs national consensus.

Chieftainess Mbwanjikana of the Lozi people said following Mr Sata’s promise to restore the Barotse Agreement, she had asked him to explain why he did not do that when he was Local Government and Housing minister.

Speaking when MMD founder member, Akashambatwa Mbikusita-Lewa

  48. what an opinion poll. no can respect opinion polls conducted in zambia. all polls are done by candres favouring theie own parties. however let the best man win

  49. Chi VJ waloba ilibishi this time!PF will take more votes in Lsk,CB and MMD wont beat HH in these areas.Final verdict?President Sata.Goodbye Nyama Soya!

  50. WHY DID MMD WAIT UNTIL THE RESULTS OF THE TWO OPINION POLLS WERE RELEASED BEFORE RELEASING THEIR OWN? STOP DECEIVING US AND START ACCEPTING THE INEVITABLE. YOUR TIME IS UP. WHAT GOES UP MUST EVENTUALLY COME DOWN. CONGRATS TO MR SATA AND THE ENTIRE PF FOR THE HARDWORK AND ALWAYS STANDING UP FOR THE POOR SINCE 2001.

  51. This is the first time i have seen a political party release its own opinion polls. Not even the democratic or republican party release their internal polls. This just shows us that something just isnt right and yes maybe rigging is around the corner.

  52. VJ is a useless man, let him do whatever magic he’s good at and we the Zambians will surely make him and his MMD wish they were never born. Its time to go… KI MWAMUKOLO FELA…. PABWATO CHABE….!

  53. MMD your time has come to an end. Please stop all the nonsense about your own opionion poll. Let Sata rule after all we need our pride back. Many a suffering and these guys when sick they go to South Africa. What about us no drugs in hospitals, university closures and fuel is high but International market has gone down so who is benefiting from the extra. Pabwatoooooooooooooo fye.

  54. gentlemen how do you expect Sata to win or come second in western, northwestern, and southern are you kidding. V.Js analysis makes a lot lot of sence by the way NEO has dissmissed claims by the POST that he also did an opinion poll in which Sata appered on Top. Sata’s tribal campagn has cost him this election, how can he campaign in Bemba in Monze or Lukulu. wether you like it or not RB has won this election Memba has lost it again.

  55. No BANTU, Imwe bantu, Inu banthu, Sata is not presidential material! Ng’wang’wazi mentality is topo strong! Surely even if we want change. I hope we wont end up making the same mistake like we did on Chiluba!! Poor m other Zambia.

  61. All opinion poll puting Sata on top are done by Bembas, including the BBC profiler of the candidates. is it a coincidence or its just that they are the only good statisticians.

  62. johnson should be ashamed of himself, what does he take us for,can some one tell me,is it diffot for some one to retire from politics, becoz am seeing chaps like harrington coming back from retirement, steadman did a gud job on the opinion poll, mmd,s can never allow themselves to trail behind in an opinion poll done by themseleves.

  63. I AM NOT BEMBA, BUT I HAVE FANTASTIC FRIENDS WHO HAPPEN TO BE BEMBA AND WE RELATE SO WELL. TO SAY THEY ARE TRIBAL IS UNFAIR, MAY BE WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICS, I DONT KNOW

  64. Mr VJ,We now know all your movmnts. We were with you in those days.Things have now changed and you truly know that the game is not to your side.Sorry old man.

  67. Neo Simutanyi is not sincere, I have read his articles and he just doesnt support sata thats why the opinion poll they conducted this time wasnt published. Can Malupenga dream up those figures? I think zambians should stop this behaviour of lying. Even old people that we must look up can lie like that, who is going to inspire the youth.

  68. Thought for today,There are no magic answers, no miraculous methods to overcome the problems we face, just the familiar ones: honest search for understanding, education, organization, action that raises the cost of state violence for its perpetrators or that lays the basis for institutional change — and the kind of commitment that will persist despite the temptations of disillusionment, despite many failures and only limited successes, inspired by the hope of a brighter future.”

  80. #103

Its like this, in yesterday’s post they published an article claiming that Pangolin group headed by Neo simutanyi had done an opinion poll showing Sata leading by 37% compared to R.B’s 32%. But Dr. simutanyi says they never conducted an opinion poll and claimed that the post were lying. However, Malupenga from Post says Dr. Simutanyi had told him about the opinion poll but said the results would not be published. he futher said Dr simutanyi had told him that sata had gained central province.

What do you make of this?

Dad said, “Bring Belle over here.” He took a rag, soaked it with gasoline, and scrubbed the dog’s backside with it and said, “Okay, you can go now, but keep Belle on the leash and only go one time around the block.”

Let the best man take over. I wish to tell the other bloggers that what Saki is saying about forming govt is totally wrong. If this was the case, we would have seen NA dissolved right in 2001 when LPM had few MP’s.

  91. VJ Chi colour. What have you done to make Rb72 so relaxed? You have never stopped cheating and rigging?

RB72 is losing with a huge magine and he will be back to the village and farm and enjoy his home sweet home.

Vote for H H man of new ways and developments

  92. #141 UPND and HH die hard, the first to fume insults had it been any one from PF, people would have raised their noses but hey, the so called Banzelu awee kwena abaletukana..bwafya…

    ABR!

    SATA NE CHIBWATOOOOOOO>>>>>

  93. Most of us Zambians are being very selfish. You write on L.T. and mostly have more than three meals a day.Rupiah has been around zambia and shamefully conceded to the appalling high poverty levels.Lets think of pipo in Mandevu, sinazeze, shangombo, kamuchanga, chimwemwe, etc…they are starving, dying of curable diseases,.Lets all talk peace when each and every Zambian has a resonably full stomach.Rawlings took over Ghana and things moved. If a graduate or a grade will be the one to socially and economically salvage our poor brothers and sisters,so be it!!!

  94. MMD is winning these elections. MMD will do better than 2006 in Lusaka and Copperbelt. Look at the defections. Zambians do not want to change to the Kaponya mentality, nationally. PF cadres are loud and try to hype everybody, this has not worked. Kamchibiya victory can only look distant now. The electorate are becoming very thoughtful and are quiet. The police and army are preparing for any riotous behaviour very well. With a new government, PF lumpens will have no favours or simpathisers if they attempt to cause confusion. This is the painful truth to the uncultured PF and its gutter press, The Post.

  95. Lets vote a hard worker who is smart and has something to show for it.
A leader whose results of hard work are visible and present tense.
A leader who can lead the smart and otherwise and put our nation on the world Map
A leader who can TRULLY raise our standards of leaving
A true Democrat with a democratic party
A Zambian who we’ll respect you and not victimise you for standing up
A leader who will respect your voice as a voter not just tomorrow….

Now lets throw away our cultural misconceptions and vote for the best… I Just did and am voting HH for President tomoro

  96. Sadam
    Mugabe
    Mobutu
    Idi amin
    Savimbi
Lets vote a leader who we’ll not be added to that list….

    Vote wisely.

  97. #144

From my own analysis MMD will lose votes rather than gain votes, What defections are you talking about, those are people who are hired after they buy them drinks.

The choice of candidate for MMD will lose them votes as for Rupiah especially here on the CB, he will do far much worse than L.P.M If you dont believe me, compare the results when they are relaesed

  98. Dear All,

On Thursday, most of us will have the responsibility to cast our vote, to entrust the future of our state in the hands of one of the presidential candidates and his party.

This should not be the only act we perform, we should continually hold the government accountable and demand real solutions to health, energy, education, and to jobs for all.

Which candidate/party is addressing these key issues? Who has a clue of how Zambia will survive the global economic mayhem?

With so much at stake- every voice and more importantly every vote counts.

  99. Change u can Believe, you have come a long way. you indeed know what you want. but tomorrow is that we have patiently waited for to see who hits plot 1, so far the BOAT is a vantage point…
    ADVISE, ABR!

  100. #144,stop being theoretical and thinking of yourself. Those Kaponyas you deformatory refer to got kids and families to support.Maybe one of the kids will one day be a graduate and usher in a non-lumpenic mentality in our pipos minds. For now our poor brothers and sisters won’t eat peace.Mind you,80% of Zambians live in abject poverty,i mean abject to the wire!!!!..you should put an end to your theories.Mwanawasa or Rupiah aint Kaponyas yet,our pipo are still dying of poverty, maybe one of your relatives has even gone hungry today…ati kaponya, you theorist!!!

  101. Guys since today is the last before the elections i wanted to extend a hand and give it up to the PF guys..

if it was in marketing one would say you have created a very exciting brand more like Cocacola or Celtel not (Zain)boring
if it was a football team you would be Manutd the most exciting team in Zambia, if a church then the most glamouras

You entertained us guys thanks a lot….

  102. People whats the latest on the trucks that were being opened at the airport, any ballots or its the lamps as the ECZ said, Update please

  103. ZAMBIA WAKE UP!MWAANGA WAS IN HOSPITAL IN SA 4 2 WEEKS, HOW DID HE MANAGE TO COMPILE THE OPINION POLL? HE JUST WANT TO JUSTIFY THE RIGGING THEY WANT TO DO.

  104. Its a fallacy for RB to lead in any credible opinion poll. RB stands for corruption and wnats to carry on the legacy of FTJ. On the other hand, FTJ and Sata are one and the same, they are merely trying to trick us. The only choice, the best choice we have at present is HH. He stands for real change.

Vote HH and drastically reduce the number of people living on $1 per day over time. Viva HH

  105. #154 continued
But then politics is not any of those things i mentioned . I know you are smarter than that and have come to realise that by now..

Lets vote for the wisest, the smartest, the one who represents us Zambians for who we are…

We are a light to the region… a haven of peace a center of consultacy …. Choose a man that we’ll keep that profile

  106. Change u can Believe

Big ups on our part goes to all you who have criticized us and made us realize our errors, good thing will have always been on hand to correct our mistakes and apologize were we have errored…

Most especially i thank UPND for being objective and mainly issue based than our MMD friends who lost objectivity and sort expedience through out this period… UPND you have been interesting indeed and you have our eyes opened, we have seen where we could have been blinded… it has been a great experience…

  107. Look at this
    Congo DR unstable
    Angola still reconstructing
    Tanzania ( Language barrier)
    Malawi – still catching up
    ZIM – unstable

I suggest that Zambia is the most viable investment destination…

We need a diplomat to ensure we maximise this great positioning

HH we’ll do that for you.

  108. …we are indeed making a well informed decision with your help…

All I can say is ABR!!!

    VOTE FOR SATA!!!!

    VOTE PABWATO>>>

    VOTE MAN OF ACTION>>>

  109. VJ’s new tactic of rigging is now to confuse people with MMD opnion polls!!!! Dont let him blind you. Know what it appears some mole in MMD is informing the public on attempts of election rigging

  110. Ba VJ from the shell and expect people to listen you predictions. It’s 10:15 hrs go take your ARVS, if you miss you will have restart again. Even your ear needs rest. Epo mpelele.

  111. May i continue with my tributes

MMD guy i have a question why are you so quiet. Do you believe in your candidate?

You make the undecided voters suspicious!!! or Maybe you guys are the cool guns ???

Any way we aplaud you for being mature!!! i hope it wasnt because you have no confidence in RB..

    Good luck to all!

  112. Yes Spectator , UPND have been very focussed in delivering their Manifestoes,HH is got a better understanding of the economy coz is an economist. The plans are not bad though, But politically there are far behind the sailing boat we give them some good 10years before they can start kicking through out the country.

  113. Guyz the atmosphere is very high in town coz that is where the Final battle is today. SATA in woodlands stadium(he has been banned to hold his last rally at freedom square), HH is in Kanyama & RB Nyama Soya is in Mandevu. This is PF’s chance to rule.GOD bless Zed & SATA

  114. Spectator

Am not to sure about these polls any more.. Maybe i should give mine for this Auugust house!!

Leading the pack to state house ??? i dont about that…. I know that you have the most support in LSK and the CB. In all honesty you cant claim to be anywhere else.

I can only wish you luck sir. But watch out for the young man HH he might just bit you… most of us who are voting for him dont chant… but dont be deceived we know who we are voting for

  115. imwe rule of brown envelopes and plunderers has to end mailo. Ka chiluba has to be rushed to Joburg for treatment when he is to appear in court but kali pa campaign trail for his fellow plunderer akulu mphuno. Mwamukolooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Pabwatoooooooooooooooooooooooo

  116. God bless HH for putting up a good fight. When all is said and done. Congratulations to the winning candidate.Ooooh! I was ahead of time, all the best MCS.come 1st Novermber, it shall be His excellence the Republican President Mr. Michael Sata. Viva low taxes viva more hard work, viva cleanliness.

  117. SATA has promissed in western Province that he will honour the ‘Barotse Agreement’ if elected into office. This means that all of CB, N/Western, part of Central, Western, and most of Southern including Livingstone, part of Lusaka including part os Kafuel and Mumbwa will be under the control of Litunga in Mongu under the Lozi Kingdom. Zambia, therefore, will remain Northern, Luapula, Eastern, part of Central, part of Lusaka and part of Southern. This implies that Zambia will be split into 2 parts, the Baroste and Zambia. If Sata was not lying in Western Province then this is what will happen. But if he was deceiving the Lozis this will not happen, in which case he would be a serious liar.

  118. #212 cont’d..
If SATA was lying to the Lozis, then it implies all his promisses may be fake, only wanting to get a vote. He has also promissed to chase small investors, saying for small business Zambians should takeover. Because of this many small foriegn investors have started to convert their cash into Dolar and are getting back to their countries. This has caused a serious weakening of our Kwacha against the Dolar as a lot of dolar is leaving the country causing a shotage. Also big investors who have not trust for SATA’s word are not ready to keep their business in Zambia under SATA’s rule, so they have withheld capital injection, reducing inflow of forex.

  119. Chiluba would have made a very good president, but he was mislead by SATA who was his closest advisor. Mwanawasa as vice could not function as he should because of SATA’s influence on Chiluba’s decision making; Mwanawasa had to resign as a result. SATA continued to misguide Chiluba for the first 10 years of MMD during which the economy was completely run down. SATA even when the 10 years was over he persuaded Chiluba to go for third term, which he fought fot with all his energy to the very bitter end.
When Mwanawasa came on the see, the economy slowly began to pick up in the first five years, and began to show even more growth in his second term. Chiluba is not entirely to blame, but SATA.

  120. Yesterday on ZNBC I was watching HH’s campaign rallies conducted all over the country. The man has huge crowds, seemingly even more than what POST potrays for SATA. I have concluded one thing:
These people who attend these rallies are mainly unemployed youths and are looking for someone to vote for. Most of them have just finished school and did not even register to vote in 2006. Over 90% of these rally attenders are not loyal to any party so the move from one rally to another to listen to and judge the candidates then make decision. Only less than 10% are able to pledge support for any particular party. For this reason it is a nightmere to base popularity on these recycled rally attenders.

  121. Ladies and Gentlemen,
The bwato is headed for ice beg people are busy jumping out here. But the cobra is busy spitting on people demanding their rights and election promises. He is silencing all oppnents. He is forcing the civil service, the police, the army, the judicially, join his sinking boat to have it afloat. The ZRA have been unlished on investors and oponents. Inflation is rising, value of the currency has gone down. People have more paper money but less value. They were told but they went ahead. 90% of the companies have now closed down, strikes are all over, the domestic debt is rising. They were told but voted for him total misery on the sea in the boat. DO NOT SAY U WERE NOT TOLD

  122. One thing that makes Lol with UPND supporters is that you dont seem to accept the reality on the ground and deceide to live in your small world where you assume HH is getting more votes than sata and RB.An economist like me might agree with you coz we believe in assumption, but even so the error is jst too large to make such unreasonable assumption.

  123. #181 walasa. oli articulate.

Tiza mvela mu 2011 ivo kulibe ice burg apa, the boat will turn into a submarine. Pabwatooooooooooooooooooooo

  124. If the so called intellectual can tell lies what of the man on the street ba Dr Neo Simutanyi you are fake you have lost my respect for you what a shame Do you even feel embrassed what has RB promised you or have you received a brown Envelope – useleman

  125. UPND supporters you make me lol, you always want to live in a small world of their own they dont want to accept the reality. How do assume that HH will get more votes than Sata and RB, Even if am an economist I do dont support your degree of unreasonable assumptions you make, Can you say HH rallies are better than Sata’s rallies in terms of attendance

  126. #179. Sosasosa ichalochilekunfwa. Whether you dig 100 years back in history over Sata, it makes no difference, he will be president come November 1 2008.Viva PF,Viva Sata!!!

  127. Now my friends, I am opposed to the system of society in which we live today, not because I lack the natural equipment to do for myself but because I am not satisfied to make myself comfortable knowing that there are thousands of my fellow men who suffer for the barest necessities of life. We were taught under the old ethic that man’s business on this earth was to look out for himself. That was the ethic of the jungle; the ethic of the wild beast. Take care of yourself, no matter what may become of your fellow man. Thousands of years ago the question was asked; ”Am I my brother’s keeper?” That question has never yet been answered in a way that is satisfactory to civilized society…..

  128. Yes, I am my brother’s keeper. I am under a moral obligation to him that is inspired, not by any maudlin sentimentality but by the higher duty I owe myself. What would you think me if I were capable of seating myself at a table and gorging myself with food and saw about me the children of my fellow beings starving to death.

    VOTE FOR SATA!!!!

    ABR!

  129. Shame on you Fine (#188). spoilt vote. however, you are only a drop in the ocean. wish you lack for 2021 elections when maybe RB shall try to stand.

  130. 175 YOUR STORY IS UNTRUE I WAS AT KASAMA POLICE AT TIME OF INSPECTION OF THE SO CALLED ITERMS. PF TELL THE WOULD THE TRUE.YOU KNOWN THE YOU ARE LOSING.

  131. I am about to go to the Rally of all times ku woodlands, wish i had me one the wireless things so that i update you properly…

    ABR!

  132. We need a leader who is sober, unifying, calm, not deceitful, not arrogant, able to work with professionals and propel them to reach their potentials; and you know who that is.
We dont need a dictator, a deceiptful person, a huligan, a thug, not one who will chase investors, NO! You know what happened to Zimbabwe, Mugabe chased the white farmers and respectable women and mothers are now selling chocolates in their handbags abroad. Here you dont even make any chocolate, so you will be selling mahehu abroad to earn a living, be careful!
We dont need a ‘free manson’ in a Christian nation, No!
We need RB, a man of calm approach and accomodative. A man who will keep investors.

  133. 187
Your candidate bit ours by 4% in last election.. he wa only a couple of months old on the seen…. and the opinion polls placed him at 10%.

This time he has campaigned through out the country without ferrying pipo between regions like some candidates…

Those not voting for LPM’s succesor are not exactly voting for PF… and mind you, you were still thi popular… I hope the math u r using in ur assumptions works for u…. Proof on the ground is that most of the noisy bus/ cab drivers hooting dont have their cards..
    tukamonako

  134. I feel sorry for all those who havent yet boarded the boat. Time for change has come, believe it or not. As usual, on the copperbelt we are going to vote wisely. Pabwato!!

  135. The only credible change zambia needs is to elect HH and not recycling retirees who are in the afternoons of their lives and have failed to redeem zambia for over 30 years.common zambians we can do better for once by electing HH

  136. I bid farewell to you all. Its been nice and I will miss most of u. I will be back on 1 November after the swearing in ceremony of Zambias next President, President Michael Chilufya Sata. Allow me to be thr first one to congratulat Mr. Sata for being elected President of this great nation. Deliver on the promise. I salute you all and I sincerely pray that we all shall vote wisely and be peaceful no matter the outcome, after all the win will be Zambian. I leave you peace as i head to the mother of all rallies – Woodlands Stadium.
Uncle Phil aka VN, the man from Luangwa District says Peace and Chao.

  137. Its a pity that even after RB was given a head start by Levy in the Presidential race he will not finish first. He just does not have the mojo.Ofcourse the MMD will tell you “RB is in front!” because he is – He is their leader and if you talk about positions, its leaders first or in front.

  138. # 201
Much respect for you. its just a pity that MCS wont be sworn in…
So in your words lets accept the results still

  139. Ladies and Gentlemen,

Vj might have his own weaknesses but lets atleast try to show some respect. Some of you will never archive even half of what VJ has done. So just keep quiet and reflect your opinion by voting and not talking nonsense!!! GO RB

  140. Last call to all aboard the titanic….
Repent or you shall surely die!! the boat is about to sink….

    Zambia yesu bonse

  141. Dont underate VJs polls, remember he has a proven record, he is able to count what you dont count and see what you dont see

  142. PF cadres will know their candidate well after elections should he manage to win. But I dont think we have enough Kaponyas to make SATA win. Kaponyas are just in district centres and in towns, not many in villages. SATA will lead his PF cadres in getting shocked. Until SATA starts praticing elections in his party, he will never win an election. Dont base popularity on share rally attenders, you will collapse on 31st October. Be careful!

  143. 210. PF FAN
I hope you are getting ready to sell chocolate in other countries like the Zimbabweans. That PF pride and stubbonness will cease and you will be selling mahehu across the borders for your living, if your SATA ever won the election. Otherwise, dont worry your SATA cant win. Very few people in Zambia are Kaponyas that is the consolation we have. Otherwise he will behave the way he did in the first 10 years of MMD, when he was number 3 and chief advisor to Chiluba. They completely run down the economy. Now he wants to chase investors and punishb China and align with Mugabe. Confusion in his party is the order of the day, and you want him to take it in Gvt?

  144. The great rally is about to start at Woodlands stadia hope i can post a few pics of the crowd, but hey if only the crowds could guarantee the true voter turn out we would all have known the eventual winner

  145. The most high shame goes to ZNBC TV and radio programmers for the un-ashamedly biased coverage of election campaigns. Yo man RB is so un-saleable that he had to fly in a team of psychiatrists or mental shrinks to prop up his impersonal personality. Only the hopelessly sick in mind seek such kind of service.RB go back to your ancestors in zimbabwe. If not HH then I will settle for the king cobra than the corrupt wa ku maba RB

  146. kulibonesha. give us the qualifications of the pipo who conducted the polls.
where have u ever heard one conducting polls on oneself . the respondents are bound to tell u what u want to hear. ask old man kk in 1991, his chaps told him he was winning but alas.

  147. we in demokras ya congo tunapenda ku angalia mambo ya ma election mu zambie kama ya ta enda muzuri. Uyu banasema sata nina muyuwa na mwingini wa tribe ninamuyuwa.Sasa uyu papa anatoka wapi? Nina penda Mzee sata. goode lack

  148. I dont see the logic in ECZ’s explanation that the trucks were caryying lamps to be used on election day with only two(2) days before voting.Im sure, they have been shamed to death.Let there be no nonsence.

  149. VJ IS NOT NORMAL HOW CAN YOU AUDIT YOURSELF THERE IS NO INDEPENDENCE .OPIONION POLL MUST COME FROM INDEPENDENT SOURCE

  150. IT LOOKS LIKE ANY ONE CAN CARRY OWN OPINION POLLS SO I DID MINE AND PF PRESIDENT GOT 57% FOLLOWED BY HH WITH 20%, IN THIRD POSITION IS RB 15% NOT DECIDED 6% AND GENERAL HIYANDA 2%. IT’S EASY TO CARRY OPINION POLLS BUT BETWEEN VJ AND I, WE JUST WANT OUR PREFERED CANDIDATE TO WIN SO LET US NOT CHEAT OURSELVES WHEN THE THE TRUTH HAS BEEN UNLEASED. SO MY ADVISE TO VJ IS THAT YOU DONT OWN ZAMBIA SO WHAT YOU THINK YOU DO THAT MAKES YOU PRIDE. JUST ONE DAY GOD WILL TURN YOU AROUND AND NOT EVEN YOUR FRIENDS WILL STAND IN FOR YOU.

  151. sata is my inspiration ba mmd say he is a grade 4 but how come the so called graduates are afraid of a grade 4 the man has not been to school but i can assure you that he is wise – ali na wisdom, long live SATA

  152. What good can come out of VJ? VJ talks rigging, eats rigging, walks rigging and sleeps rigging. Unfortunatley this time around, VJ walala. BaMMD tamwaimyenge. Come rain come sunshine ubwato buleketa.
    Pabwato bane! mpu mpu mpu!!!

  153. thats funny in my many years on this earth nevehave I heard predictions actuall have the actual figures of the results. When there are predictions it is always an estimation. If these are indeed the results then we the zambian people will have a basis for revolt. we have enough mr mwaanga

  154. I see a boat carrying a person to the thrown. The one who was one step towards the thrown seem to have failed to eat into the urban popularity of the Paddler who enjoys popularity in northern, Luapula, Lusaka, and Copperbelt provinces that has 51 percent of the eligible voters.

  155. MMD please, don’t think you are so smart to win these elections. Pa Bwato is in control. We will be celebrating come Friday. Viva Ubwato.

  156. In 1991 we wanted change and it happened what can stop the change this time around we were able to remove wamuyaya from office. pls God help Zed

  157. IT IS UNWISE TO RATE YOURSELF A LOSER EVEN IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL LOSE. THEY ARE JUST WORKING ON PIPO’S MIND.

SATA SHOULD BE THE HIGHEST, RP SECOND, HH THIRD & HONOURABLE THE LAST.

ANYWAY, LETS WAIT FOR FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY FINALLY

  158. cmon MMDbe realistic and face the fact that sata has the popularity and he is winning the election if you dont blieve me ask HH

  159. MMD wants to discourage the Zambian People from voting for President HH because they want his votes while the also know that Sata has no National appeal. This is all in an effort to cheat Zambian Voters.
On the otherhand, PF and the POST are trying to tell people who want to vote for HH not to since they claim president HH has low numbers. This is in a hope to incite Zambian voters who want change to vote for Sata instead to boost Sata’s numbers. Funny how propaganda is trying to make each of the two candidates win. However, the people on the ground have already decided that it is president HH now. This is our time and this is surely our moment.Zambians endorse HH tomorrow for your future.

  160. VJ u are full of sheet like VJ. Which fact are talking about. U are a shallow minded person. Can u define what a fact is. U are suffering from the malady of ignorance like Rupiah Banda.
    HH or Sata.

  161. My opinion poll yours that the winner of the 2008 Presidential elections will be known after the elections. Propaganda will not take the MMD and PF anyway.

Anyway, thank you Zambians. This campaign has been very great. I would like to congratulate the MMD, UPND and PF including PF campaign teams for all they did to make sure we have a Zambian President to take us up to 2011.

Thank you all Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Luapula, Lusaka, Northern, Northwestern, The Southern and Western Province Zambians. Together, YES we can. Go out and vote in numbers and remember to it for your children. THE END of campagining.

  162. ba v j.u guy have been to school.pls spare ur self some respect.can u confirm u retired from plitics bcos u were scared of mwanawasa?let me remind you that respect is earned by making decisive principals.boss i fail to understand how u think.
Any way u re a foooool. viav mwanawasa.at least he swrewed ur assssss.

  163. Finally the day is here! God bless our nation as our country goes for the polls! Known for peace by the rest, God loves us like any other of his children. May the best candidate win!

  164. This is a fact: One way to be sure of losing Presidential elections in Zambia is to have Kaunda’s support. In 1991, he supported himself and he lost. In 2001 he supported Mazoka and he lost.In 2006,he supported HH and he lost. In 2008 he is supporting RB and he is losing.

  165. LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO

FINALLY OUR TIME TO BE VINDICATED HAS COME!!!!

OUT WITH BANA NJOVU AND ALL THE STAFF AT THE ZAMBIAN EMBASSY IN RUSSIA ALL YOU PARTY CARDERS WILL BE NO MORE NI PA BWATO FYE!!!

    TWANAKA NAIMWE PA POMPWE!!!!

LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO

  166. With all friends i v talked to in different povices of zambia they all say thy ll vote opposition it might be the end of mmd

  167. No. 1, I agree totally. No.14 you are definitely unhinged. What planet are you on? No. 48, do not preach hate and violence before it has even happened. What are you on? Speed? No.146 wise words..No.231 do not count your chics before the eggs have hatched…my final word…..

may the elections be fair and may the best candidate win!!

  168. ITS NOW TIME PF AND UPND POOLED THEIR RESOURCES (VOTES) TO DISLODGE MMD. THIS IS THE CALL FROM EVERY WELL MEANING ZAMBIAN WITH INTEREST AT HEART TO DEVELOP ZAMBIA. WE ZAMBIANS ARE HUMBLY ASKING BOTH PARTIES TO BURY THEIR HATCHETS AND JOIN HANDS. WE DO NOT WANT MMD/UNIP AGAIN. THERE IS TOO MUCH POVERTY IN THE COUNTRY WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING. TO PUT IT SIMPLY, PF, UPND PLEASE PUT TOGETHER YOUR VOTES AND KICK OUT MMD. THANKS.

  169. If witches were to be usefull then bewitching VJ was going to be the best thing they could ever do for poor zambians! rigging does not work when change is as ripe as it is. VIVA PF VIVA!!!!!

  170. PF is the party for Sinners. Party Yaba bembu. Homos, lesbians, thieves, corrupt, money laundering womanizers name it. Show me any person in a PF who is sane from President to MPS including the supporters. Not even one. It is a pity in Zambia that we are used to second hands things. How on earth can some say I want to marry a divorced man or woman coz this person was once married she/he knows how look after a man or woman. This seems to be the reasoning among the supporters on PF and MMD. Any normal person can not settle for a vehicle with high mileage compared to low mileage and claims that the former has proved to be stronger.
Second hand cars, women, men, chairs, computers, cloths, even politician. Poor Zambians
