LT update on comments

Share

There has been complaints of people’s comments getting discarded. In fact the comments come to our admin people and after reviewing these comments, we have found that 90% of these comments actually violates our comments policy.

We welcome and encourage your commentary and debate. However, we request that you restrict your comments to pertinent matters. We will discard any comments that are abusive, threatening, defamatory or libellous, or attacks on fellow bloggers.

And because of this words like stupid, fool, foolish, fools, idiots, chimbwi, kolwe and many unprintable ones are not going to make it to the site. We advise that you avoid the use of such words if you want your comments to be posted in real time.

We also discard website urls and characters like “//” , “:” because these are used by BOTS to flood the site and cause problems like “Slow down you are posting too quickly” or “There are too many people posting comments at the same time as you”

Again flags do not necessarily represent your location but merely the ID your ISP gives your internet traffic once you are on the internet. Most ISPs route internet traffic through proxies in other countries. Please do not send us e-mails asking us to give you a proper flag. Call your ISP.

  1. thank you very much LT for the good job, for unbiased media coverage and for uniting zambians all over the world for free…..

  2. Thanks LT well thought through approach indeed, I wish you could also discard certain names bloggers use, which are some what insulting…

Hey you are doing a great LT!!!BIG UP TO YOU!!!!

  3. Thank you very much Lusaka Times.

Please keep on giving us quality service.

    VIVA LUSAKA TIMES!!!!!.

    ABASH THE POST!!!!!

  4. Twaatasha ba LT EEPASHILI PAKULEKA!!!!

some of us learnt the hard way, you know dear bloggers i was once banned to blog because of my YOU KNOW, until i begged with LT and changed my ways on blogging….Twaalumba maningi…

  5. Those with tribal intentions should also be banned. We are tired of those bloggers agitating tribalism. Some of us have stopped blogging because of the same.So if you know who you are a culprit please stop.We need to take a leaf from other sites where bloggers stick to the issues at hand and exercise maturity. Thanks LT

  6. Yes thanks LT, this goes to those that provoke others on the basis of tribe; Zambia is too mature to be hosting tribalism related sentiments! See how you can also sort them out! Bigup …. Meanwhile Pabbbbbbbbbbwwwwwwwwwwwatttto!!!

  7. Great job ba LT. Am sure people will understand now. I had underrated u, i thought you sleep like RB.

    Good work!

  8. Especially PONYAX. But all the same we need to mature as zedians when debating national issues coz imit ikula e mpanga. so if you grow into the abuse mode, it will be very difficult to lead others as from the abundance of the heart so does a person speak.Let us learn to differ but not fight with abusive words. LT you must also ban the term tribal or any of the names of the parties standing or their leaders so that people can learn not to insult

  9. THATS RECOMMENDABLE LEADERSHIP GUIDANCE.I CAN NOW START CONTRIBUTING KNOWING THAT YOU WILL PROTECT ME FROM BEING ABUSED BY SOME OF OUR FRIENDS WHOSE ONLY LANGUAGE IS THREATS AND INSULTS.PLEASE KEEP IT UP,YOU ARE A PROMISING FAIR MOUTH PIECE AT THE MOMENT

  10. As usual there is always your kind #22 and 23, lurking somewhere, waiting for a moment to dish your Frustrations and failures I pit Son men…

    VIVA LT!!!!!!

  11. Well said and understood.

Vote for H H he will make the oppositions to learn and understand the way of democracy and not riotting like one we had in Livingstone because of rumours raised by a street vendor.

    30th Oct 2008, Vote for H H

  12. #22 & 23, guys bushe mwafyelwe shani? ala bamo when you grow up and have your own children, it will be very sad to note that your children will grow up like you and will embarrass you by uttering unspeakables. be good examples not bad ones. May be we should ask LT to introduce the logging format so that they censor your email addresses like other blogs do.

  13. LT, thats the way.You have done a good job. Some people need to be preached to everytime. We just need debates that educate & inform the masses, not insults!

  14. I guess this means we’ll be seeing less comments from PF supporters because it seams 99.999999% of the time, they always come with insults.

Thank you for protecting us from insults Lusaka Times.

    Lusaka Times for President.

  15. we definately need to read mature and sensible contributions that will develop our country and educate each other either than the insults we see and some of us we end up not wanting to read the comments.Maturity is something that is not hidden but visible for all to see.gud lucky and may peace be our voice in all we do

  16. LT im not too sure if your Admin team are doing a good job in filtering these blogss three quarters otrf them are (if i may borrow your words) abusive, threatening, defamatory or libellous, or attacks on fellow bloggers. so please do a more thorough job

  17. Thanks LT.

Pliz oso find a way to make people “own” their nick-names. That way, we can continue referring properly to who said what.

  18. Free-Market-Capitlst, how are you? in-fact you are going to see more of us, because of our well thought through comments and balanced views we provide the blog with…
See for yourself, #23 is MMD!!!

    ABR VIVA!!!

  21. @ The Spectator!!

I am fine. How are you??

I look forward to your comments. At least it is good to have some sane people in the PF.

  22. thanks lt,but update your site on time, quite alot is happening and yet we dnt get to see them on time, keep up your good work,

  23. #35 is right. You could further reduce any anonymous insulting comments by introducing a sign in feature with possibly a policy on usage of the site.
Also, thanks for keeping us updated for free.
Despite our being away,we love Zed dearly and will contribute to meaningful debates.

  24. you see #40 it is better to be silent and be thought a f00l, than to speak and remove all doubt. I rest my case…VIVA LT.

    ABR!

  25. You don’t need people to be watching over what we are posting! Thats an odd and old way of doing things. Get a ‘webwasher content filter’ to be blocking postings with certain keywords. We are not in the 18th Centuary!

  26. its easy to know if this phone number-0955-774191 belongs to VJ. Those at cell Z can you find out and tell us. you can print a list of incoming and outgoing calls to this number and you will find the truth.

  27. #29 good points… pls tell them. They think freedom of expression is all about mensioning other pipo’s parts shame on them.

  28. Good observation LT. We surely need you because you are very much Independent, fair & neautral.

Abash The Post. Am for HH

  29. The Spectator!!wabuka mune, ati shani kaily truck tayi lafika ku lsk, anyway have a great day, and votewisely my gud friend

  30. # 23 – you are the same incorrigible LT is attributing to,you are very retrogressive person in the most retrospective manner!!

    Grow up

  31. Georgia Russia

Nabuka kwena, the update on the trucks is that they are Lsk bound and should be touching down in soon… awe kwena I will Vote wisely and I hope you also get the chance to vote, that is if you can make before 18hrs tomorrow…have great one too my friend…

    ABR!

  32. Thanks but when i comment I hardly ever use insults or unprintable s and yet you delete them. I have seen alot of comments on here with insults meaning you are either inefficient in screening or you have favorites.

  33. Village man, the trucks are now in Lsk at the airport for verification. Dont waste your votes, Pliz vote for SATA and you will never regret. GOD bless Zed and PF. Keep it up LT

  34. The first container from the two trucks has been opened and it only contains laps and in the next 15-30 minutes when we finish searching each box, we shall open the other container.

So far so good at LIA.

MMD rally has started in mandevu while UPND one will soon start in Kanyama. The PF one will start at 14hrs at woodlands stadium and after 18hrs no one will be allowed to compain. THANKS for now.

  35. The Trucks are now at Lusaka Air Port and everything seems to be calm as the opening is taking place, in the presence of all stake holders…we are waiting to hear what is in the other one…

  36. Fellow blogger Iam very upto date and I don`t know why you are asking the same questions about the trucks when am giving you the update free of charge. TRUST PONYAX atleast for today.

  37. i reaaly think some comments are made in bad taste, please people lets tryto be decent and objective in our comments.

  38. LT good for the information but somtimes you don’t post our comments even if they are genuine and have no “insults” as you put it. We only get that message that we are posting too fast, blablabla….. Would you please improve on that? Also improve on the time you post the news here, you really take long, sometimes the whole day??

VIVA PF, VIVA SATA, 31.10.08, ni pabwato. #58, please give us more updates.

  39. this will be the most tricky election after the 1991 elections,am seriously not sure whos gonna carry the day.but its gonna be tight,it seems all the three candidates have been crowd pullers werever they hve gone to and honestly it makes voting very diffcot.but i only hope and trust that zambians have listened to all the presidents and knw who they want.i pray to God that we shud all make wise decisions as we enter that ka box.Amen

  40. You are right. Most people do not know why LT was created, it’s to educate and not to through insults in different corners. VIVA LT

  41. #72 – you are right, please LT some usernames are really unprintable, take for instance (HECHI HECHI “NTONI” )in one of the dialogues for yest or today, this is unacceptable and should be stopped immediately.

  42. Damn, i have missed it i thought you were available, would have loved to start a something withya! No biggie though, am just looking for some love if you know what i mean Zed Gelo.

  43. #73, ba PONYAX, bakamba, i have never seen umuntu asanguka imbwa. keep it soft mudala batila ati ulusele talutula kalonda lukalifyafye ikoshi. Lets not insult one another, imagine you are blogging calling names kanshi its your own blood brother, imagine calling your brother imbwa meaning the same womb carried a human and a galu, cant understand this.

  44. Ladies and Gentlemen
The bwato is headed for ice beg people are busy jumping out here. But the cobra is busy spitting on people demanding their rights and election promises. He is silencing all oppnents. He is forcing the civil service, the police, the army, the judicially, join his sinking boat to have it afloat. The ZRA have been unlished on investors and oponents. Inflation is rising, value of the currency has gone down. People have more paper money but less value. They were told but they went ahead. 90% of the companies have now closed down, strikes are all over, the domestic debt is rising. They were told but voted for him total misery on the sea in the boat. DO NOT SAY U WERE NOT TOLD

  45. Nabwela! NaleGhana ko panono. Nasanga mulechita ubuchende pa LT. Wemuntu umutuntulu kuti walafwaya an anonymous person hiding in a name that can never be real. Iwe imbwa yama galu!

  46. Niyamba nafuti! Uwoona monga unganilese you useless. Go to dating sites you coward! You think a sensible lady will come your way why hide behind a computer.

  47. thanks LT please on friday 31.10.2008 yuo should be giving us elections result every 3 hours so that we are able to follow us far away from home. this is possible because ECZ will be updating the nations results every one hour so i hear.

  48. SHETANI
HOO man,You had something going on ,sory that you cant get connected to each other, I feel sad for you!

Back to Business , Ubwatooooooo is moving at unstoppable speed , Any attempts to stop it will lead into death row

  49. Nevertheless, what happened to that “law” which stated that a day after a public holiday should be holiday also if it falls towards the end of the week?

  50. there is no holiday on friday,we hve had enougth already, friday u all get back to wok, nishi ukutemwa ama holiday mwe bena zed

  51. CBU Monk 115, i am really trying to put up with your f00lishness, ba LT please let me give him one or two of my old specialty!

  52. Luapula Fish, i have not insulted anyone anyone YOU ARE referring to the CBU Monk. I am loving Zambian, yes i used to insult but not anymore.

  53. I am about to go to the Rally of all times ku woodlands, wish i had me one the wireless things so that i update you properly…

    ABR!

  54. LT somehow the is no truth in what you are saying. I have never used any abusive language but my comments have been blocked twice. Infact these where question type of comments. Are you saying that bloggers are not allowed to ask certain questions?

  55. I bid farewell to you all. Its been nice and I will miss most of u. I will be back on 1 November after the swearing in ceremony of Zambias next President, President Michael Chilufya Sata. Allow me to be thr first one to congratulat Mr. Sata for being elected President of this great nation. Deliver on the promise. I salute you all and I sincerely pray that we all shall vote wisely and be peaceful no matter the outcome, after all the win will be Zambian. I leave you peace as i head to the mother of all rallies – Woodlands Stadium.
Uncle Phil aka VN, the man from Luangwa District says Peace and Chao.

  56. Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS Viva ABS

    Viva Anyone But Sata!!!

Vote RB if u r unsure

  57. LT, the name ‘Pabwato’ should be included on your list of abusive and defamatory words and should not find its way on this site. PF is dead and its leader is a sick oldman who should retire to a hospice in Mpika. Viva new blood, Viva HH.

  58. #120, Spectator, I thought Zain Zambia offers GPRS. If your mobile phone is GPRS enabled, you can continue blogging while listening to Sata’s last words as a dying horse or whatever…

  59. #133 – Spectator doesn’t know what GPRS is. Tell him specifics: a phone that can access Internet.

I will attend RB’s rally. Why shud I be 3rd lady? No way! So, nipa Nkolokoooooooooooooo fye

  60. LT, you may filter profanity fine, but outright ‘censorship’ is retrogressive. Blogging is meant to contibute to free expression but the moment your ‘administrators’ start filtering our contributions, it deafeats the whole purpose. C’mon, we’re all ADULTS here, no need to shove your version of morality down our throats!! It’s important that we let EVERYONE be heard (yes, including raving lunatics). Long live FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION…! That said, it’s YOUR blog, so feel free to delete my humble and honest feedback…

  61. Thanks LT, I appreciate the level of usefulness you have given to this site. All the best as you endeavour to make things better for us all.

  62. LT, maybe postings with words such as imbwa should be blocked. There is some vulgar, offensive language that is posted. I gues we have to brush up our thesuarus skills so we can relay our view point in a mature and careful manner.

The screening of postings is welcome.

  63. LOL, Oh my days! the comments on here… eish. Shetani mwandi Iam a chic I know it dont listen to haters, I cant prove it but its true.

  64. #132 NKHANA
    Niba PF balinga ukuti muchepe
its not PF’s fault ,you gotta fight for your support , the battle ground is open for you.

  65. Thanks LT. If you look at blogs on news.bbs.co.uk, you will find that they have a link at the bottom of each comment. The link says Complain About This Comment. By clicking this link, whoever has read the comment can let you know that there’s a bad comment on your blog. This is whistle blowing. It is effective and it will save you time as you will only deal with comments reported to you. Please find out how to insert such a link to each comment, just like you have for voting on a comment. Keep up the good work. Who owns this LT by the way?

  66. #132 – please see list of banned words for what I want to say to that.

LT – whoever you are – thank you so much for providing this forum.

    Pabwato guys

  67. Well done LT.
Just take note on your adverts. It’s seems your top adverts are opening in the parent window. I am recommending that let the ads link open in new window instead of the window in which am enjoying the reading of LT.

    Thanks

  68. Guyz dont you think insults are part of the fun we are having on this site. Not all pipo are gentlemen. Vote Pf vote wisely HH no match to SATA and RB. God bless evryone as you are for all but everyone to him?herself. Im Voting from NIPA main campus.

  69. #142 Cheers.

Thanks. Hope you are the real deal.

Anyway, I just went into the above link About Us hoping to learn who LT are. I suggest you attend to this link as this is where LT can introduce themselves and tell the world who they are and what they are about. Then we would not need to keep asking. I came across this blog only this month so forgive my ignorance. Thanks for the service, you are doing a good job.

  70. I never use vulgar language but often i fail to successfully post a comment for hour on end & it leaves me wondering whether i am just being blocked from posting maybe coz of my criticism of certain political candidates.

  71. keep updating on VJ’s numbers so that we can all text him or call him & effectively keep him incommunicado for the next 48hrs. Pls update ASAP if he changes numbers!

  72. Now i know why at least some of my comments have not been seen. Anyway thanx for the reminder but am still:

    Pabwatooooooooooooooooooo

  73. LT, job well done.
I want to appeal to my fellow zedians that we only have one zambia. Elections or no elections we are all zambians, that is our common denominator. As we go to vote tommorrow let us have that in mind. Who ever wins the elections deserves to be the president and we can only have one winner. Please no violence, may peace prevail.

  74. Thats common knowledge, did you have to get an influx of unprintables before implementing the inevitable? Come on guys, move with technology! Well done though. However, what if my name is unprintable and spelt the same as the golden implement we are fortunate to have between our legs?

  75. “Please do not send us e-mails asking us to give you a proper flag. Call your ISP” Thanks for the reminder but this comment sounded just as rude as some comments by some bloggers!!!!!!

  76. I agree though partly because I did send some decent staff – was trying to encourage one foreigner who vowed, would never come to Zed again because of certain bloggers who were unkind. However, you trashed that. Were no sixes and nines either!

  77. It’s good that you have reminded those who are insulting. We say that Zambia is a christian nation, but the question is”Where is our christianity?” This site should be mrant for useful and senseble contributions not insults. Prople, let’s change. In James, the Bible says ”faith without works is dead”. Lastuy, vote wisely. May God help us.

  78. LT its such a shame that you choose to take this root, what the hell is freedom of expression,if even an online newsnet work wants to tell people what to say and what not to say.

  79. Ba CBU Monk, please leave Shetani and Zed Gelo alone. These are days of internet dating… Shani kalijo??? Just go muko vota……

  80. Thanks again LT it’s been fun. PABWATO guys, signing off now as we have reached the 18 hrs, ni:

    PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
    BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  81. This is a step forward. But I thought even tribal comments are not welcome. Anything that encourages disunity must be discouraged!!!

  82. CONGRATS GUYS, WHAT A FRESH AIR ( name) to replace the post, we have had enough of FRIED LIES.
Post yena kaileya ni pa nkoloko epela. I will miss the post
LT Are you seeing what am seeing….big vacancy on Monday go for it!

  83. Ba LT “Mulibabweme”, it felt good saying that. Our prayers God has answered, also feel free to add more value advertisers to your site. They shall pay you to stay on while we buy for ourselves and our folks and relatives at home. We shall by them Stock and Government bond. Ndalama wakudya chabe, that way there is cash for schools and Housing, Na yapa Mbale Ku Church pa sondo. God’s blessings for myself and you all; Plus our families today and forever past these elections. Na yo oya, Nomba apa Naluta.

  84. Thankx LT.good job.but am sure naimwe namwishiba ati ni pabwatoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
    Viva SATA! VIVA PF!

  85. My opinion poll yours that the winner of the 2008 Presidential elections will be known after the elections. Propaganda will not take the MMD and PF anyway.

Anyway, thank you Zambians. This campaign has been very great. I would like to congratulate the MMD, UPND and PF including PF campaign teams for all they did to make sure we have a Zambian President to take us up to 2011.

Thank you all Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Luapula, Lusaka, Northern, Northwestern, The Southern and Western Province Zambians. Together, YES we can. Go out and vote in numbers and remember to it for your children. THE END of campagining.

  86. LT this is double standards, why do you allow this:-
    77. Mazoka 6ft,Nkumbula 6ft,HH…one foot in the grave, never a tonga we shall take them out let them rule cows even shag them for all we care

  87. It is high time all those horrible words were banned.Even if Zambia is a free country should those insults be allowed? Look at # 178 is the word SHAG appropriate? Lusaka times you should do more! I think the Internet has etiquette, is your editorial staff following this?

  88. LT YOU SOUND ANGRY AND NOT PROFESSIONAL ENOUGH IN YOUR EXPLANATIONS. YOU ARE SOUNDING LIKE DICTATORS. LET THE PIPO FREELY EXPRESS THEMSELVES. NO INSULTS, FOR SURE BUT HUMOUR SHOULD BE LET IN . WE ARE TOO STREESED BUT WHEN YOU GET COMMENTS LIKE FROM PONYAX AND THE CREW YOU REALLY LIGHTEN UP A BIT

  89. LT. You are very biased with your deletion.you leave people who are insulting you right under your noses, but cancel very healthy contributions/postings. Twamimonamo nomba!.WAKE UP!!!!!

  90. LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO

FINALLY OUR TIME TO BE VINDICATED HAS COME!!!!

OUT WITH BANA NJOVU AND ALL THE STAFF AT THE ZAMBIAN EMBASSY IN RUSSIA ALL YOU PARTY CARDERS WILL BE NO MORE NI PA BWATO FYE!!!

    TWANAKA NAIMWE PA POMPWE!!!!

LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO LELO

  91. Thank you very much LT. It’s true this should not be a forum for abusive language. We the guys in the 21st century should learn do things differently from the old chaps by showing mutual respect even if we could be holding different opinions/ views on certain matters. Keep it up LT!!!!!
