Second Republican President, Frederick Chiluba, shunned journalists who wanted to talk to him when he went to cast his vote on Thursday morning.
The former President refused to answer questions from journalists as he arrived at a polling station at Saint Mary’s Girls Secondary School in Lusaka constituency.
Dr. Chiluba who was accompanied by his wife, Regina and his press aide, Emmanuel Mwamba, just said he was going back home to read the bible after voting.
The former President arrived at Saint Mary’s Girls Secondary School around 11:00hours and went straight to cast his vote.
On Tuesday, Patriotic Front cadres harrassed Dr Chiluba and attempted to block him from attending an interview at radio Yangeni in Mansa, in Luapula province.
The cadres who lined up on Chembe road, which leads to the radio station chanted P.F slogans forcing the former head of state to go back to his hotel room.
The cadres included taxi drivers who parked their vehicles in the middle of the road honking, causing a traffic jam.
Police were immediately deployed on the scene and cleared the way for Dr. Chiluba.
And First republican president, Kenneth Kaunda, has called for peace, as Zambians cast their ballots in Thursday’s Presidential election.
Dr. Kaunda says people should vote freely and ensure peace is maintained before and after the election.
He was speaking after casting his vote at Woodlands A Primary School, in Lusaka Central Constituency.

OK, LT we’ve had enough of The Rise and Fall of Don Frederico, now pliz show us some picture of thousands of PF supporters disembarking from their boats and going to vote.
Ba fee colour where are you?Voting or sleeping.
Viva H H you are the one

LT, the first line does not make sense. Nevertheless, Zedians how is the mood in the country?….I hope you guys have cast your votes.May the best man win and may peace prevail after the results. God bless all the zambians.
Chiluba is irrelevant its good he’s not talking now. we will deal with him as soon as we take over. for him its straight jail no compromise… We the wise and learned have voted for SATA.
Who wants to talk about this little man.He should be in prison.Let him hang.GO SATA,GO SATA
He has a lot on his mind! Even if RB wins he might do a Mwansawasa and let cases continue.
We cross fingers and wait in joyful hope for best candidate rto be declared victorious. Peace to mother Zambia and joy to all her children.
HH to win? What planet do you live on?
In Kapri the mood is sombre kwati chililo. Sources on the ground indicate very low turn out.
But again, A lot of potential voters have died from treatable diseases since 2006, What with the mismanagement and lack of medicine in our hospitals and the very low life expectancy due to poor diets and the like.
VIVA TO THE ELECTORATE.
I have alreadY cast my vote. as you all know am not dull not to see that there is only one hope. THE BOAT. can’t wait up to 2moro. Iknow mumba is not currupt as FTJ and MAUREEN MAUREEN.
Leave the poor chap alone his cases are still in court he should be charged when the time is right and he was our head of state regardless of his “short” comings.
Even a criminal has rights
I mean MAUREEN MAMBILIMA
Sorry FTJ .King kobra will deal with you tomorrow.u know what i mean! Good luck and long life
KK and CHILUBA are irrelevant into this eqation, coz they are not neutral they side with some POLITICAL PARTIES so they cant tell us anything which we can hear and understand
Sjameless Chiluba, now he jas nothing to tell the Journalists, because he knows nobody will ever listen to his lies.
Shame ka kafupi
I am going to vote now,may the good Lord lead us as we cast and wait for the results.Peace to mother zambia and all peace loving zambians.Vote wisely.
KK and FTJ still have the right to belong but, they should not go beyond party issues, coz their opions national matters are questionable. What can they do that they didnt when they had the opportunity????
# 15, its lreen & not maureen
Menstrueting he-man, princess london..we are giving you 1 last chance before the ship sets sail! Repent and accept sata and you will be saved. As many as recieved sata, they became new citizens in the new republic. Those who refused died without mercy! Sata is the man!
Go KAFUPI GO, they cant make neews without you, wabachenjesha sana, keep mute, no interview, they ca speak to Sata (n)
let Chiluba rest, after all Mulwele.
President Sata.
Tomorrowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
once bitten twice shy.
Sata.
Probably Don Chichi is not feeling too well. We all know about his heart problem, so I am sure he is sick after campaigning for RB in Luapula.
The tongas are now insulting LT for not covering that trabalist weasal HH, this shows that chiluba is more popular than hamachende.! If on an important day like this FTJ is headlines, then hamachendes influence is that of a tonga herdsman shagging his cow! What a sham!
PIPO OF ZAMBIA VOTE WISE.
PA BWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
#29
Noti Ifyo Bane! Leave and repect other pipo’s choices, Naiwe tukusosele like “Zambia foward”
BY 2MORO WILL HAVE OUR NEW EXCELLENCY.
#22 twafweni!!!! wafunta mudala big tim
live Chiluba alone he cant do anything gud now whatever he says people find some fault in it. Mulekeni atushe. Akane no kwenda!
#29 Yellow card iwe, stop insulting Tongas. They took very good care of me when I lived in Southern Province.
#21. THANK YOU FOR CORRECTING ME. IT COMPLETELY SLIPED MY MIND.
U KNOW THAT WOMAN BRINGS ME ROUGH MEMORIES WHENEVER I THINK ABOUT 2006 ELECTIONS.BUT THIS DOESN’T CHANGE THE FACT THAT LEVY WAS GOOD.
I BEARLY SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HER AND FTJ
Jail is only for the poor like me. Long live pompwe
ka Chiluba we are coming for you on 1st November with the boat. Oyenda ku jail mwana. Stay tuned
Its a pity that posts as those of # 29 still have room on this site. I want to believe, LT is putting up some stringent measures to censor some of these bloggers.
I was once told that what we utter reflects what we are. And am sure, this is a clear reflection of what is #29 and what is doing in the USA.
So ba #29, hope your man will be the best man to get to plot 1. Goodluck.
#29 no need for insults….very childish. if you have nothing constructive to add, just read on!!
I hear ba ng’wang’wazi are not registered voters yet they were singing Pabwatoo… Who in his right mind would vote for a grade 4 drop out? If thats the substitute i have, i would rather sit at home and watch Kabanana. To me HH and RB are better options than Sata who in 2000, personally supervised the beatings in Chawama.
FTJ,ASEMBE NDIWE GUY WA PAYIZE,SEMBE WENZE MU BOAT,MANJE WALUVYANYA.WAONA KUKONDA VOKAMBA KAMBA,YALULA KA? HE NIMAILO,VIVA PA BWATOOOOOO!!!!!!.
Former heads of state and chiefs have their democratic right to vote for their preffered candidates but it is wrong for them to publicly declare and ask people not to vote for certain candidates but the one they have indorsed. How would HH,Miyanda,or Sata treat KK or FTJ when elected as president,It is of course different from the one that their endorsed candidate will offer them.May love, peace and unity prevail as we elect Sata as our fourth president.Pabwatoooooo!
pabwatoooooooooooooo
VIVA PF..!
#41,YU HAVE MISSED THE POINT,FORMAL EDUCATION IS NOT THE OUTMATE AS REGARDS LEADERSHIP ESP PLOT 1 JOB,ALL IT REQUIRES IS THE ABILITY TO MAKE USE OF THE TECHNOCRATS LIKE YU IF U’RE ONE OF THEM,AND THEN EXECUTE THE LEADERSHIP SKILLS WHICH IN MY VIEW CAN BE ACQUIRED BY BOTH FORMAL AND INFORMAL EDUCATION.NOT ALL GREAT LEADERS THAT HAVE SAVED OUR MOTHER EARTH ACQUIRED FORMAL EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE,BESIDES,SOME OF OUR OWN HIGHLY EDUCATED ZEDIANS IN FTJ REGIME FAILED LAMENTEBLY,WE ALL KNOW THEM,SOME EVEN BEING FORMER LECTURERS AT OUR HIGHEST INSTITUTION OF LEARNING,TAKE ME ON MAN/WOMAN, LETS DEBATE!!
Why is it that Zambia is the only country to have been ruled by “Doctors” and they are happy to be called so. Is it the press to blame for these conferred NOT EARNED doctorate degrees? Has this got to do with our culture – ifimuchinshi sana? I can give a list of the other doctors like Mandela but he has never used any of these conferred degrees bestored on him as a great son of Africa but Zed -milandu. Horrible Mugabe was recently stripped of such degrees for bad governance and undemocratic rule.

#30. WHAT GRADE WAS DAVID IN THE BIBLE FOR HIM TO BE GOOD READER.
BESIDES,REVISIT YOUR CURRENT AFFIARS TEACHER AND COME BACK WITH THE NAME OF THE MAN REFERED TO AS GRADE 4.

DONT DIE OVER OTHER PEOPLES SELFISHNESS ENJOY THE VIDEO
On a lighter note people while we wait for the poll results to come in lets remember the good old days
Who rembers ZANGALEWA the music video i went to look for it to bring it here for you for old times sake Enjoy the video below

Kalibolo ka stanyina
sata is a mad man who we can not allow to be president,RB is winning this election, satas supporters are kaponyas who dont even have voters card, that man is a tribalist and dictator,go to rural areas he wont get a single vote
Radio Phoenix 1300hrs Sata says the election have been rigged.what does this mean conceading defeat and trying to incite people for violence. No ways to violence twakana may the best candidate win the elections
Chiluba is no factor. e has become completely irrelevant in all matters. When Sata goes to Plot 1 on Saturday, come Monday Chiluba will be in Chimbokaila
Thievies should not be allowed to roam the streets.
Go Sata Go
Nibwanji? Musiyeni mufana! Talk about Sata’s landslide victory.
No# 20 Your words are like a great rainy season, the have left me with a smile. They had 37 years of heading us in reverse. Botswana chose Democracy at independence, while we lost our mental liberation to a one party dictatorship, that was followed by the worst form of thievery the southern African region has ever seen. May we Choose either Sata, Miyanda or HH. Infact these three would be good working together. God’s blessings to you all.
#2, r u from drinking alcohol?????
No# 49 Thanks LOL, I have not seen that video in years; the good old days. Soon to be the good new days too.
RB projected to win, PF and HH split the vote!!!!
Guys,if you compare the so called Grade 4’s achievements to that of the sweden graduate’s archeivements interms of contribution to the country, you will see that the graduate is beaten pants down.So this tells you something about our eduction. Its a selfish investment only ment to get you a job as a salve.RB failed to serve this country period!!!!!!!Pabwato, mwanukolo
FTJ,its a pitty that he chose to support the losing term hoping it will win.The problem is that when he gave leadership to LPM he left flat battries in the watch. He made a big mistake. He should have put Energizers. This thing was not right after the third term bid failed. The Clock is not ticking anymore.
While! So finally the day we have been anxiously waiting for has come and the dies are still being casted ,going by the news of the people like chiluba and KK who have already excised their right to make a difference in leadership selection by voting.I just hope that this elections can rather be used as a stepping stone for better things for the country than a transition to the waist land.May sunshine and peace continue lighting the zambian skies.viva zambians
Any one who knows what Chiluba was promised according to tadays’ post?
No# 49 could you post the other song they did, it has helped to calm my anxious waiting for the election results.
#46 I have no issues with your analysis. What bothers me is how could a leader support violence? There should be no denial here that Sata history of violence and to me, he has a full makeup of worst dictator. I was in Zed then, he as MMD Nat. Sec. organised and supervised the beatings and hackings on innocent pipo of Chawama.Mybe i missed something, he never apologised to anyone. If he cant find the decency and apologise, that is exactly the behaviour u wud find in a grade 4.
That TITUS snubbed “journalists” should be your Headline! No NEED to waste my time here! No worthy scribes…
may the best man win.
good luck mother zambia!!
isn’t ba sata too old to be our next president?
kapena kamwana ka HH, kali na future!!
Chiluba cant be an issue give us something worth discussing N’way let him rest
Campaigns officially ended yesterday and why are some people still campaiging for hh? Today is polling to vote, forget about our political affiliations and join hands patiently wait for either His honour RB become President. If He doesnt make it then man of action should take over Micheal Chilufya Sata.As for hh let him join other job seekers.
sata in state house on saturday viva sata viva ubwato.i cant wait for saturday
chiluba, kaunda, nevers, BY, tembo, nawakwi, siulapwa, sakwiba, sichone, ngondo, even miyanda – it is not by chance that all these are on the side of humpty dumpty or RB. he has used public funds to pay dirty money to all these hyenas. they are nothing but shameless job-seekers. now, i ask, where will RB get jobs to give to all these sell-outs? NEVERS as a ‘pastor’ is the worst of them – his reference to God and the bible is in vain and outright blasphemy. he is worse than one who has never been to church.
i have been monitoring the elections at various polling stations since morning and took time to read LT this afternoon before going back for teh count at 18:00 hours. Th eturn out in Lusaka is very slow. In the monring a number of people got up and went to line up but by 08:30 in some areas eveybody was gone and people were trikling in. This afternoon the situation is the same and getting worse as election officials are now dozing in the heat. In Kafue the situation is the same with a few people going out to vote. The Copperbelt not any different. it appears that the numerous people that we have been seeing at rallies have disappeared today as they are nowhere to be seen.
what happens if sata loses?
okay
I voted for HH,I’m worried about the low turn in lsk.I think this will work to RB’s advantage.Just goes to show that most of the people attending rallies have not voted.
u gay twag talking about tongas shagging cows bet u dont even have balls to stand up to an argument shut the fcuk up we are too eager to hear election results.Go get ur behind anhilated and die of hiv

My heart bleeds for Zambia, not MMD again!!!
The Man used Swahili…. just imagine how the reporters filled,
People i tell you the truth, today’s voter turn out was poor, it will cause PF to stable and loss
Thank you Zambians from Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Luapula, Lusaka, Northern, Northwestern, The Southern and Western Provinces for voting wisely. Together, Yes we have done it. The end.
Special thanks to all LT bloggers especially those who did not insult anyone. PF cadres, it was great noting how focussed you were: the ‘pabwato’ thingy by you was constant and it normally made my fellow HH supporters lose hope time-and-again until I would boost HH supporters morale. MMD cadres,it was a good run with you too. HP, sorry but try again to put up a good support. As for my fellow the UPND’s HH support base, it was great meeting you and participating in a noble cause to develop Zambia together.
If Sata wins what will happen? What are your fears? Mine are based his reaction to investors that are already driving the economy. I visited home this summer, saw the economic activity and direction and was happy to bury Mwanawasa, a focussed hardworking man. I hope that I can say the same at Sata’s demise. Hardworking former Lusaka Governor.
#11, ndalumba kapati. #36, a word of encouragement to all, in 2006 while studying in South Africa during a similar election result anxiety period, I congratulated Mr Micheal Sata for winning the Presidential election way before all the results from all constituencies came in. However, it so happened that Mr Sata lost those elections terribly where by he got 29% and late Former Zambian LP Mwanawasa won with 43-6%. To this end,I learnt my lessons. In Bemba, they say “ukutangila tekufika.” Remember,a similar thing happened to late Mazoka in 2001. My former history teachers used to say “history repeats iself.” In light of all this, I urge all Zambians to keep cool and wait for the final results.
# 98 I totally agree with you. People are making him out to be Zambia’s messiah, my memories are fresh of him being pro- third term for Chiluba. IMO HH was the better candidate, we need fresh ideas that will continue to carry Zambia forward and not tired old men proffessing to be the best thing to happen to Zambia.
RB WON, THANK YOU ZAMBIANS FOR VOTING WISELY.LET THEM TALK WHILE WE DO THE WORK…GO RB
NOW THAT WE BEEN INFORMED THAT RB WON,HERE IS THE NEXT NEWS..FAZ- president, Kalusha Bwalya is confident
Football Association of Zambia- FAZ- president, Kalusha Bwalya, says the Zambia national soccer team has a chance of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa.
Bwalya says the Chipolopolo boys are capable of beating any team in their qualiying group, which includes reigning African champions Egypt.
He says FAZ will soon meet with government officials to draw up the team’s training programme in an effort to prepare adequately for the qualifiers.
Zambia begins her quest for a maiden world cup appearance with an away tough encounter against group favourites, Egypt, in March
