TIZ President Lifuka ‘cained’ for double standards.

Share

A Concerned Citizen from Kabwe has taken a swipe at Transparency international President Ruben Lifuka’s recent remarks on the October 30 Presidential polls.

Mr Richard Chella said in a release to ZANIS, Tuesday evening , that Mr Lifuka is being biased because the T.I president at first supported the opposition during the campaigns but has now switched to speak positively for the ruling MMD after it won.

Mr Chellah , who is and adent MMD supporter said that he can only take Mr Lifuka seriously if his organisation declares the just ended elections as free and fair in line with what other local and international organisations have done.

He asked if the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) have equally come out in the open that elections were free and fair, who is Mr Lifuka to remain adamant that the elections were not free and fair.

Mr. Chella has since urged Mr Lifuka to condemn the biasness by a named tabloid newspaper he alleged was transferring and manufacturing pictures to depict that a certain presidential candidate was more popular.

Further, the concerned citizen challenged Mr Lifuka to strongly condemn what he called the shameless lie reported by the same tabloid that traditional leaders in Southern province had shunned President Banda during the campaigns in total contrast to what was televised on ZNBC.

  1. People get it here, Ba Sata will die struggling for the unattainable vision to rule.Clearly I see it MMD will never ever give him space to rule.I think they hate and disapprove him with disdain as a thug.Let look at the Citizen Democratic Party for possibilities.

  2. MMD,TRY TO GIVE HIM THAT BROWN ENVELOPE,MAY BE HE WILL SIDE WITH YOU.REMEMBER FDD,UNIP,NEVERS MUMBA,HERITAGE,KENNY NGONDO,BEN MWILA AND OTHERS JOINED MMD AFTER THEY WERE GIVEN THE FAMOUS BROWN LUPIYA B.B ENVELOPES.

  3. Look, do not be confused by people like Chela. Some examples are not worth mentioning, like LAZ agreeing with the results. Firsly, how many observers did LAZ have on the ground, please educate me?LAZ to me, looks at the legality of and environment within which elections were held, which even if the previous elctions were fraudelent, as far as LAZ is concerned, these parametres were okey and LAZ is okey to say elections were free and fair.
Reuben Lifuka is equally correct to say elections were free in a similar manner coz TIZ references were all met and it wouldnt hurt m to hear that.
Personally, I know Reuben for may years, and I think his conscience is free.

  4. Frankly speaking, these NGO’s and many quasi- organisations that have sprung up bore me! I wonder why they think they should comment on every that involves governance. Haven’t they got something better to do? In any case, on whose behalf are they speaking? Certainly, not me the ordinary Zambian!

  5. Some of you are victims of illusions reasoning failure. MMD canot be beaten by regional groups whose establishments and allignments are with none voting kaponyas in urban areas if not clansmen. These have nothing to do with elections other than enjoying the election season rhetorides they take as entertainments. Its a fallacy to expect a Kaponya abandon the street for voting registration then later on those long hour voting ques on ballot day when at the end of the day voting does not put food on his table.Human beings of that caliber are about the now for me motives and not prospectives.MMD is established countrywide with functional structures.Needs a serious national party to tumble.

  6. #2 WHY SHOULD IT BE UP TO MMD TO DECIDE WHETHER MR. SATA WILL RULE OR NOT? I THOUGHT THIS VERDICT DEPENDED ON THE VOTERS. AND AS FOR LIFUKA, HE IS FREE TO HAVE AN OPINION ON WHETHER THE ELECTIONS WERE FREE AND FAIR OR NOT. THERE IS FREEDOM OF THOUGHT IN THIS COUNTRY. DO NOT FORCE EVERYONE INTO GROUPTHINK. EVERY HUMAN BEING IS A FREE THINKER AND HAS THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS HIS OR HER OPINION. REUBEN LIFUKA I’M SURE HAS EVIDENCE TO BACK HIS CLAIMS UNLIKE SOME BLABBERMOUTHS IN THIS COUNTRY. DO NOT TAKE US BACK TO THE DAYS OF THE ONE PARTY STATE WHERE WE COULD NOT SPEAK OUT AGAINST THINGS WE DID NOT APPROVE OF. VIVA HUMAN RIGHTS!

  7. MMD will tumble like UNIP its just a matter of time. God has time for every one and every thing so dont be mug and proud for nothing.

  8. MMD is full of itself. It can’t listen to other people speak. We have a situation Guy here. Some of the views expressed in this commentary have clearly shown how people can subjectively look at issues and ignore being objective. We are here in Zambia and we can see no light at the end of that tunnel and when we have every Jim and Jack utterances taken as news then we don’t know which ditch we will fall in. First it was Teta and Mulongoti, then Munkombwe(I wonder what the name Means) Now this Chella. These utterances are funning the tension here in this country. Guy that in the diaspora, maybe you have been sent out by MMD. Ask your relatives back home of what is happening back home.

  9. This so called monitors need to come up with a common charter to refer to when declaring elections free and fair or not. At the moment each has its own standard measure and hence different oppinions.

  10. # 13 right on. i concurr 100% with you, easier to talk when you are out there, come home and see the situation for yourself.

  11. Both Chellar and Lifuka are job seekers period!! Cant you see this? Indeed it is written that you have eyes but you cannot see.

  12. BA LT I THINK REPORTING ON AN INDIVIDUALS OPINION IS TOO LOW THIS ISSUE CANNOT EVEN BE SUBJECT TO DEBATE THIS GUY CHELLA, WHO IS HE AND WHAT HAS HE DONE I PERSONALLY THINK THERE ARE MORE BLOGGERS WITH MORE SERIOUS ISSUES ON THIS SIGHT THAN AT ZANIS

  13. 18 I totally agree with you. This is as useless as subjects can get. This is pure cadre topic not worthy to even see day light. This is Bull S$*% to the core.

  14. Opinions! What is an opinion anyway?
It’s just an expression of views (divergent or not) over something, which is neither right NOR wrong! Therefore, no opinion is correct or wrong, so all of you bloggers are free to express views of any nature on whichever subject, but the fact still remains that they’re just opinions which at the end of the day, do not represent the broad spectrum. Even this Chella chap who is taking a swipe at TIZ President, he’s equally expressing opinions which are not even correct or wrong, but just views meant to satisfy his ego of wanting to be heard as somebody who can open his mouth and at least utter something.

  15. You know, it is very deplorable for people like chellah to continue supporting MMD. Has read the post of today 20th Nov 2008. People cried that they should not increase salaries and allowances for constitutional office holders and senior government officials. They have done it in less done a month after returning them to state house. Will it say that they are there to for the people? It is very regrettable for people like chellah to speak like that when they do not know what is going in the country. Even if, we are in titled to our opinion; let’s contribute wisely.

  16. Reuben Lifuka was my classmate at UNZANDO later CBU. He has a Bachelor of Architecture.
How sad to see him in the muddle instead of improving the architectural standards in Zed. typical Bemba chap!!!!!!Now he has no neck viva TIZ

  17. NO 2 you are now seing the sense.PF will crumble without Sata.It is when you will know that it is tribal party simposored by the catholic who are the beast mentioned in revelation of the bible.Any party supported by the catholic church will be crushed with its leaders. The catholic Church had supported UPND in 2001 under the late Anderson Mazoka but because Chiluba was still in power the North and Copperbelt voted for MMD. Mazoka lost the elction accusiing Chiluba that he rigged the election when it was not.In 2006 the Catholic Church supported PF and they lost.In 2008 the catholic supported Sata and lost. They are now wandering what to do.They are resorting genocide like it happened in Rwan

  18. #24 keep quite if you don’t know what to write. Catholic is reputable church organisation which speaks for the voiceless. Its always non partsan dont be mislaid. They’ve memembers country wide and they don’t support an individual they just brings oppressive laws in the open, thats the reason why the people in Govt or other x-tians like you (thats is if you a christian and not SATANIST) hates the name Catholic Church coz they dont fear to talk about the injustice in the country. they’re not like some of the other churches which does not look after the ware fare of its people as long as they’re getting favours from the GOVT. You must be ashamed of youself for overlooking the facts

  19. 25 you must understand the history and politics of Zambia. The Northerners have never supported other tribes for the leadership of this country.Check the history Hurry Mwaanga Nkumbula should have been the president of this country but voted for UNIP because they thought Kaunda came from Chinsali. They never supported ANC and this was the first party in the pre independence Zambia. When Kapwepwe formed UPP all the Northerners ditched UNIP.Kaunda banned it beacuse it threatened his rule.ANC was claiming it was tribal party for Tongas and today UPND is not supported by the northerners claiming it is tribal party and yet UPND was formed before PF.Work up Zambians now the truth of certain ethnic

  20. #26 Pleas understand me. I have no problem with your analysis about tribal politics, I was against your attacks on catholics that they might bring confusion in the country not anything else.

  21. Number 26 Don’t tribal. This is showing how shallow you think. Look at last voting patern, northeners voted for everyone unlike other provinces.

  22. Your analysis is so biased no.26, UPND should have formed a pact with PF and should have allowed Sata to be the Leader. The would have won the Elections. This would have helped in ensuring that the constitution is made ready for 2011. And thereafter decide on the way forward.

  23. Guys,do u think wars is a good thing? The pipo toking r jes inciting a poor ordinary citizen. I am in Zed ryt now and pipo r jes living thier lives lyk normal so y do u kip on abt the division and the threats??? Please let us live in peace and not allow selfish pipo to use us. They have a palce and money to run,U and I dont so lets preach peace and not accept war tok.

  24. If there was no catholic I doubt if those leaders whom u a praising now would have been educated don’t compare catholic church to many churches who supports because of the positions of reward mind u some churches supports even satanism they don’t care what it takes as long as there’s monentary gain.

  25. My advice to Sata is to have a farm, start cultivating. Zambians should only vote for one who has done some farming before. People who cannot farm cannot rule people. Remember Chiluba? Town life was everything, followed by thieving. He never had a farm. Mwiyesha na kabili

  26. MWE BANTU WERE ARE WE GOING?LETS BE A XTIAN NATION LIKE ALWAYS BUT TWILEKA BA MUMBWE UKUTULILA AMASUKU PA MUTWE.MAY GOD COME THROUGH FOR OUR COUNTRY ZAMBIA.
