  1. He worked so hard for Zambia. He worked even harder for Christ and spent so long on the Cathedral of the Child Jesus.

It was so befitting that his body lay there for a Mass he so deserved.

Our repository of experience and wisdom is so much the poorer because of his passing. He will rest at Mukosa Village – Ku Lubemda ku Malole. He worked for them too. He went to the village when going to the village was like a death sentence. Here rests a man who stayed close to what he was.

  2. Yes LT #11 is inappropriate! Lets respect the dead! LT awe you sensor my jokes – which are usually in good taste, but then you let people disrespect the non living!! LT! :-w

  3. Imwe! Ni yopa, bazani manga! I’m trying to send the end of that ka one, but LT keep sending some ka silly message!!

  4. Who wrote this article??? Zambian journalists need to go bak to skul..we are missing alot of details in this articles plz

  5. #39 what did he die of for example… how long was he sick? Who does he leave behind etc. All those things that should be in an article like facts

  6. Sony Ericsson, you see our local media never mentions what some died of. They only say ‘after an illness’. I dont think we shall get that detail on kasonde

  7. LT….Is it “THE CATHEDRAL OF THE HOLY CROSS” OR “THE CATHEDRAL OF THE CHILD JESUS”? Or “the difference is the same”!!! 8->

  8. RIP Ba Kasonde…he was among the first four Ministers to axed by FTJ in the 3rd REP.

Left four Children..nefishukulu katwishi ni eleven. ..including nomwaice wandi Tona uwile mukulosha..! Awe chabipa mwe.

  9. sometimes it’s better to keep your childish comments to yourselves.# 45 and 51 please do not read or make comments if you are not interested. Mr Kasonde was over 70 years please give him the respect he earned whilest alive and respect is the key in every society. MHSRIP Mr Kasonde.

  10. Kasonde brought about the bite the bullet policy under Chiluba and yet it was only the poor Zambiansb who had to bite the bullet and tighten the belts.

  11. No Kasonde, no Arthur wina, no Humphrey Mulemba, no Mwanawasa the real pillar of democracy, we are finished. At least we still have KK the real father of the nation. But please RB jail Chiluba as you will just be respecting the rule of law. I need to hear you talk about the law and why the courts must be respected. promote the judge handkling Chungu and secure a conviction for Chiluab and the zairean called Xavier Chungu. We may vote for yo again if possible. But trielly, we do not need you as president, vote for Chirwa.

  12. His heart failed and died while being rushed to the hospital by his child from his home in New Kasama. Let’s do away with silly comments. Even people who die of Aids are human, good people and have loved ones too. have a heart bane.

  13. All dead people no matter how bad they were will be showered with accolades but state funerals are becoming a joke now. What of the man who sung “Africa, my Africa”, Mr Ponde, do you know how he died, simple diabetes and his legs swelled up right in UTH. Was he accorded a SF? I dont remember. We seem to be good at wasting money in Zambia no wonder we shy away from challenges like hosting the AAG. Surely ukufilwa fye uku kula stediamu ati iyo indalama tapali but meanwhile in our hearts we know money is there.

  14. Nothing wrong with number 11…

That’s his take on it…If he doesn’t miss him, he doesn’t miss him…It shouldn’t bother any of you!

Dead people don’t need respect. The are dead. Concious of nothing! Give em a good funeral and that’s it…

    RIP EK.

  17. The bible says there is time for everything under the sun: time to be born and time to die. Ecc:3… So death comes as a result of time.
and cases of death have been record in the bible and Jesus dealt with these case. So death is there and it’s real but the Good news is Jesus is the Resurrection and the life. God Bless you all today.
    Amen

  21. #45, Ba Kasonde died from a diabetis complication. He collapsed at home in the morning after breakfast and was rushed to Lusaka Trust hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He was a great business sucess and biggest coffee farmer in the country with a private air strip. Things went wrong when he joined politics and the coffee prices collapsed. He lost the whole of his Century Holdings empire but remained simple and dignified to the end

He lived both in Malole and New Kasama (lusaka)

  22. Condolences to the Kasonde family. It must be hard losing a father after losing a sister recently. What a loving catholic family. Mr. Kasonde did a lot even out of work for the church.

People like the imbecile number 11 make my blood boil.

  23. Kasonde was a very big thief and plunderer by virtue of birth. Stop lying when someone has died ati he was a good man. he has died with development bank of zambia loan. Let him pay back. A plunderer is a plunderer.
