Share

Zesco United leave for Tanzania tomorrow, Tuesday January 13 to play a series of pre-season international club friendly matches with three local clubs there.

The defending Faz Premier League champions will leave at midday from Dar-es-Salaam via Nairobi on a Kenya Airways flight.

While in Tanzania, Zesco will play Patrick Phiri’s Simba SC including their arch-rivals Young Africans and Prisons FC.

The three international club friendly matches are part of Zesco’s preparations for their Caf Africa Champions League preliminary round first-leg home tie against Kenyan champions Mathare United on January 31 at the Trade Fair grounds in Ndola.

The trip to Tanzania will also mark new coach Fighton Simukonda first feel on the bench with Zesco since his appointment as coach at the 2007 and 2008 league champions on Friday.

Simukonda replaced Wedson Nyirenda who is leaving Zesco after to seasons to take up the head coaching job at Zanaco last week.

    Too bad Nyirenda left them at this crucial time

  2. Using the money we pay for electricity bills to go on holiday? Ba Zesco. You can arrange friedlies with our ailing national team. Theres no need to cheat us here ati shanshani friendlies. we know these things. That money should be used for improving or putting up new infrastructre. Ma load shedding yachilamo maguys. yashani iyo?

  5. Zesco sure! of all destinations, you choose TZ.What kind of football is there.Management committee in-charge of footbal should be serious otherwise ZESCO is just another losing team.

  6. Zesco won the league plus a few cup games wer the ar havg over K 150million in the bank i think its okey for them to fly out, secondly south african league is not that tough remember mbesuma and katongo left south half way thru the season but still managed to get top scorers award.

    I think Tanzania is okey the hav bin to dubai twice wer millan went 13 days ago playd the same teams Zesco playd the time the wer there.

  8. Zesco is a disgrace to Zambia . Always it is booted out in the cup. This time we wqant you to go up to group stage other wise we will stop paying malaiti bills.

    =d>=d>=d>=d>=d>=d>

  9. #8 If you dont know anything about football dont comment.
    #10 and #12 have a good point, S.A. would have been a better destination for Zescoro F.C.

  10. Surely SA wud have the best training destiny even Sudan or Egypt.let them play the most strongest league in Africa if the want gud results at CAF. Not cheating themselves with weak teams. If u want to be strong in wrestling fight The Undertaker or Ghali.

  11. Zesco cannot be compaired to the 11times champions who reached the finals in 1990.The only zambian team and there will never be another team to reach the final believe me or not.Zesco will go no where.Tatwasekelamo bali Nkana ukuyamu one.

  12. guyz i think the rationale to select Tanzania was based on ZESCO’s CAF opponent being mathare in Kenya. These chaps sh’d be playing the same kind of stlye since players move from one country to the next.

    Otherwise, lets give timu yamalaiti support.
