A Poor Zambian’s Prayer

Share

Our God,

We thank you for having given us this mighty land of the Zambezi. You have given us plenty of natural resources from which we can generate our income as a country. We have a very good climate, abundant rivers and fertile land. Lord I do not understand why we have water shortages, load shedding and shortages of mealie meal. Lord why does it have to take a farmer from a foreign land to successfully farm the land.

Lord I do not understand why our country is so dirty and full of dilapidated buildings and pothole ridden roads.Open our eyes so we can see where we have gone wrong.Lord when our leaders travel abroad, give them eyes to see the beautiful infrastructure in other countries and may they not have peace until they improve the infrastructure and facilities in our land. Lord give us a leaders who will improve UTH. Our current leaders don’t see the shame in continuously sending sick government officials to South Africa.

Lord remove selfish leaders from power. Plunder the wealth of those who have stolen from us the poor Zambians. Please give us leaders who have this nation at heart.Give us leaders who will not blindly sell our motherland to foreigners in the name of “foreign investment”. We pray that our leaders will fervently and unselfishly work to improve the welfare of the less privileged in our society. Lord though we call ourselves a Christian nation, we are a very corrupt nation. From the Passport Office to the Tender Board, from the Police to Parliament our hearts are full of deception. I guess its poverty so Lord please teach us how to use the Land you have given us to produce wealth.

We thank you for the continued peace you have given this country but sometimes we take that for granted. We are still years away from uniting as “One Zambia One Nation”. We are sick of this ethnic group accusing the other of doing this or that. We pray that for once please make the Tongas to be Bembas and make them eat Finkubala and attend church on Sunday. Similarly, make the Bembas to be Tongas so that they experience what it means to be accused of being a tribalist. Make them speak Tonga on buses and in offices and experience the response they get from the public. Give the Bembas all the cattle that belong to the Tongas and see if they will sell them to buy clothes. Increase the intermarriages between Tongas and Bembas, perhaps then the tension will reduce.

Finally, Lord, we thank you that you will hear our prayers.

We pray all this in your name. Amen!

  1. This has to start from each and every Zambian to be accountable. To develop Zambia,we need concerted afforts together,we can build the strong Zambia.
But politicians play a vital role.

  2. Have just ready the all prayer and the Answer is God does not entertain comedians like you in prayer. If you have a Bag of 25K meal meal I ask the cankerworm to work on that.

  3. We are poor without knowing. Today you understand that Supper Ken when was the Zambian President chased the Isearites from Zambia. The bible is plain on that bless isreal and you will be blessed curse them the curse is on you. Rupia whent to Libya and condemned the Isrearites. The curse is on you

  4. We have preachers they should renounce Rupias condamneation of Isreal. God has put them there not to be touch by anyone the payment is there for everyone to see. Kill one of them you die in thousands. No one can challange Iseal before he challanges God. Just Bless them for everthing they do as the mighty has blessed them already no two way about it no explanation. They are Blessed.

  5. Lord God almighty there some in this country who knows your Blessing to Isreal. You have blessed them and I bless them today. Lord fullfil the Promise you have them. They are surounded by people who curse them day and night. with every mans understanding it is very simple to attack and finish them according to they enemies pronoucements. But your Hand Lord has always protected them. As for our Leaders Lord who comdemns Isreal my prayers the curse according to your word be on the Leaders and the curse spare the inocent Zambians Amen and Amen

  6. Hi, LCK. I invite you to read more about Isrealites history and the Middle-East. The issue is more than the way you have put it. If possible, take a trip to Middle-East, tour Isreal, Palestine and the Gaza area. I am sure you will appreciate that the conflict is more to do with land than anything else.

Zambia today is lacking a selfless leader. We need a leader who can share the nation’s resources equitably among the nine provinces. Each province should be able to carry out one important development project to uplift peoples living standards.

  7. LCK spot on.

‘Blessed are ye that mourn for they shall be comforted’Since the establishment of the state of Isreal, they have been mourning to be left alone to exist as a soverign state yet many mor are still joining the on slaught. Are we not ashamed to see that the same condemned state begs from no one or that its pipo are so hardworking they do no lack of basic needs?
Let us learn to walk in the ways that are pleasing to GOD in order to be free from his wrath. But again let us do it with caution, as the road to salvation is very narrow and many choose the broadway and uses the name of GOD in vain leading them to destruction.

  8. CHA CHA CHA

“Zambia today is lacking a selfless leader. We need a leader who can share the nation’s resources equitably among the nine provinces. Each province should be able to carry out one important development project to uplift peoples living standards”

Do you think a federal type of government is what Zambia needs?

  9. #14

I have always been supportive of the federal type, but i know why people in govt are reluctant to adopt it.Some provinces will secede and claim autonomy and the provincial govornor will be somehow big-heade like Moses Katumbi. The federal govt should be based on a strong constitution for even the US was a victim of secesion.

  10. PF says the resignation of party’s secretary general Edward Mumbi is insignificant
Patriotic Front (PF) Leader Michael Sata says Party Secretary General, Edward Mumbi’s resignation from the party does not leave any vacuum. Mr. Sata says Mr. Mumbi was not an active member of the party, thus his resignation from the party is insignificant. He wondered why Mr. Mumbi waited too long to resign if the allegations he has leveled against the PF were true. Asked to comment on allegations that a named donor delivered money to his house in the run up to the October 30 Presidential Election, Mr. Sata challenged Mr. Mumbi to produce evidence. Mr. Sata was speaking to MUVI TV news. Opposition Patriot

  11. Amen and Amen and Amen. Please Lord answer this prayer limbi Tongas can be our friends pantu balitupata kwati finkubala. :-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j

  12. Iwe lelo ndifye bwino!! Ichi chi name Bruder L is giving me headache !! So I decided to experiment with my previous one and bang I got through.

    😕

  15. Ba sharp shooter,
This is interesting,I have just finised cooking akabwali.Kanshi naimwe you cook ka!! :-j:-j:-j

  16. May I support the ideas from #14 and #15, or rather may I think the subject you two guys are bringing up is Ideal. Allow me to be the 3rd to think FEDERALISM pa Zed is worth tobe tried. However as Sharp Shooter mentionned, the system requires a strong constitutional base.
If Moze is big headed today,it’s becoz the system seems to work…Look at the authority invested in the chap,it’s no longger the President( Mobutu, L.D.Kabila, J.K.Kabila..)to decide on the affairs of the Province, but just him….
He stopped Ndandashi to cross to zed, today he has allowed it! That’s federal power……Try it pa Zed, you never know God’s secret…..
    Nalandapofye, am not into Politics……

  17. I vehemently disagree with the prayer.
When Moses asked God what he should do next on reaching the shores of the red sea, while being persued by the Egyptian chariots. The all mighty said Moses you know what to do and you have the equipment to do it, why are you asking me? The moral to all this is that God has bestowed upon us the wisdom to achieve and live fruitful lives.
Everything that we need is there but we have to dig deep into the archives of our minds to get the answers but we don’t, because prefer sliding into security zone of following misguided leaders.

  18. LT PLEASE.PLEASE,can you tell times of zambia to update their news daily or at least every 2 days.WHy do we have to look at kachiluba’s face with his concubine with her fake smile, pretending like she loves the man very much and yet its money she’s after

  19. From my view of life and spirituality….prayer alone is not enough. It should be followed by actions…and actions here require people to vote for capable leaders…not balabisi yamene tifaka mu power everytime.

  20. Nine Chale

Naine ndifye bwino, only the pain of ukwisula isukulu mudala wandi mailo ninshi ya amba amasambililo.Ala isukulu lyakubukulu bwafya. :-h:-h:-h:-h.Good to hear that you are great man.

  22. Ba Sharp shooter na Casey khiso.

Times on Zambia na ZNBC baba kwati bafyalwa kuli nyina umo. They behave the same.

  23. “Increase the intermarriages between Tongas and Bembas, perhaps then the tension will reduce.” Any Bemba Chick out there????? the bull is waiting he he he he!

“We pray that for once please make the Tongas to be Bembas and make them eat Finkubala and attend church on Sunday” Finkubala noooooooo! thats not food iwe! talk of the internationally aclaimed MABISI!!!!…..attending church on sunday????? read your Bible properly. Matt:12:8: “For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day”

  24. Engine Bbuloko

  27. Proverbs 28:9
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

    Law=torah

heres your answer to why you pray and you still suffer

  28. In Zambia we are not poor. The only and biggest problem we face is contentment. We are all happy with the little we have those who do not have anything are comforted by lies from politicians of a better future.History has already shown us what poor people do to improve their station in life.I believe it is poverty that brought europeans to Africa. In zambia we are lazy and content if we were really poor believe you me each and everyone of us would have done something by now.How surely can we depend on maize when we have so much food like kandolo.Let us learn to live outside a 25kg bag of mealie meal please.

  29. 63. Voice of Reason, you can say that again, you are spot on! ” comforted by lies from politicians” even the exposed are cheated by unlearned politicians…shame!

  30. if there is need to improve our mother land zambia we need to work hard as tha whole country not blaming pple and sayn that its a cusre in zambia think and work up we need a real president and not a joker like rb now u can see that we really lost a great leader may his soul rest in peace and tha curse is having riged tha eletion sata won by far and his hurting inside we really need change we are living by god is grace and love other wise we do not have a leader.

  31. the selfless leader is already there in the name of Brig.Gen Miyanda it is only that people do not support him.It is on record that when in Government he used to retire imprest how honest a man

  32. **==‘Quote for the Day’**==

a)Dig where the gold is …. Unless you just need some exercise.

b)I envy people who drink. At least they have something to blame everything on.

  33. # 69 spot on man! Life is a paradox, we tend to believe people who tell us lies. Miyanda is a good leader but just because he tells the truth we think he can’t make it. We like people who are eloquent like Mr. Chiluba even if what they say has no substance as long as they it with charisma, we go for them. the onus is ours.

  34. Can I ask one thing gentlemen, is there really a tension between the Tongas and the Bembas? If the answer is yes, then it is a very unfortunate development considering the level of education that we have attained in Zambia and also where we have come from togather. Be very carefull, with such issues this might be small but the end result mighty be the Austrian Bush fire.

  35. I am seek and tired of being blamed as a Zambian for being peaceful, why cant we for once refuse to be peaceful and finally asher in a leader chosen by all people, not self chosen, chitting fat cows that find their way into leadership with the help of silly and staborn crack heads like Kalale who wallow in wealth after selling the country to undeserving leaders. am sick of this, realy sick. ~X(~X(~X(~X(

  36. I THINK THE TENSION ONLY EXISTS ON LT(MAESTRO HE).I AM TONGA MYSELF, MARRIED TO A BEMBA AND I GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY .SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN NO PROBLEMS FROM EITHER HIS OR MY FAMILY, THIS IS THE TENTH YEAR IN MARRIAGE,MAYBE PROBLEMS WILL COME LETTER IN THE FUTURE THAT IS IF WE ALLOW THEM OURSELVES.

  37. This is a joke for a prayer. Lets not teaze God peeps, if one had something to say about politics, corruption and tribalism, then just go ahead and say it instead of using a pulpit for it.

  38. No one will develop Zambia apart from Zambians. The politicians or president are not there for the development of Zambia there there for the money.Unless if it had to change to say who ever gets into politics should be rich.

The only one who can change and develop Zambia is the zambian ordinary people. It has to start with one then others can join. It should start by setting up standards. I am offering myself for that.I know i can and together we can achieve.

  39. Well this the first time I have blogged on this website, I am appallled by the gooble gook that is being pedalled here. We must all be bigger than tribal trivialities if we want to unite as a nation and be the econimic force we deserve to be in the SADC.

Secondly in choosing a president people need to be politically educated before they hit the voting stations otherwise their votes will be wasted.

Improving the lot of all Zambians should start with individuals telling themselves or rather striving for excellence at ALL times. If for example you are street sweeper you MUST make sure that the street you sweep is the BEST swept street in the WHOLE WORLD, if a politician does not deliver

  40. Should a Politician not deliver on the promises he/she made, the bugger must kicked out of office by the people who put there and not the excutive arm of governement.

Lets start a revolution that will ensure that we do not compromise on ANY standards. Let Zambia be a country of uncompromising consumers!

  41. who said we are lacking selfless leaders, what we are lacking is result oriented voter who wasted their voted on anyandula, we always have a choice but we wantt to move with the brides(envelopes) and not the masses.pliz iwe chivoter use your vote rightly

  42. Fellow bloggers, lets face facts. Tension between Bembas and Tongas exists. Iam a Kaonde and have lived on the CB, Lusaka and Southern Provinces and have observed there is this sour relationship between the two groups despite having a 60% vocabulary similarity(According to Prof. Mubanga Kashoki). My observation and conclusion is that the tension is actually a REACTION by the Tongas to the irritating and rather silly Bemba feeling of superiority. Its not uncommon to hear a Bemba giving annoying remarks about Tongas. A Bemba may stay in Tongaland for 50 years will never speak Chitonga.I for one find this behaviour somewhat uncivilised.

  43. BA MWISHO, TONGA AINT A LANGUAGE YOU TEACH A SELF MADE MILLIONARE…

lol, thats what bembas are…yeah you may be right, but for as long as i live here also, i will never speak Zulu,,,sat!

  44. tonga is a beautiful language, …..Bemba is a beautiful language…so why not celebrate them as such. I am half tonga and half ndebele/zulu. Africans learn to love the differences in ourselves and don’t wait for a muzungu studying anthropology to come and educate you on the basis of who you are.(lest they use that to their advantage) Our history is replete with that. Those in West africa and beyond sold each other into slavery. This would not have been possible if africans were united. I have often observed that blacks will bend back and forth to accomodate anyone else but there own kind..but all you want to show each other how you ‘think’ you are better than one another

  45. On the issue of corruption. Why can’t people not see that offering a bribe or receiving one is not just unethical it is sinful. recieving and giving favours based on kinship or friendship rather than following due process is also not just unethical it’s sinful. Where are the church leaders, priests, the pastors when it comes to issues of corruption? How are they guiding their flock? Are they also corrupt? it is an ocymoron that Zambia can be declared a Christian nation but be one of the most corrupt nations on earth. It means that zambia is a nation full of corrupt Christians and by this tule tumfya lesa. Our hypocrisy will work against us, we will lose favour in Gods eyes. Beware Zambia
