Zesco Draw In Abidjan

Share

Zesco collected an important result away in Abidjan this afternoon after drawing with Africa Sports in their Caf Africa Champions League 1st round, 1st leg match.

The two sides played out to a scoreless draw to put Zesco in a comfortable position  going into their home leg match to be played at the Trade Fair Ground in Ndola on April 4.

Zesco coach Fighton Simukonda said the 0-0 result was a positive score-line for them considering the challenges faced by Zambian clubs over the years of playing away in West Africa.

The defending league champions return home on Wednesday and this weekend kickoff their title defence when they host City of Lusaka.

  1. Good result
Hope they will maintain the form not like Ghana who thought Congo was already dead since they killed her a few days earlier

  2. This result is not good until they qualify to the next round. Rember what happened to Zesco when they played a team from Uganda, they played better away and scored more goals than they did at home. The same can happen to them. So the game is still on until the last wislte. The Zambian plaers easily become big headed and ends up losing a game they are suppose to win.

  3. Nice to read stuff like this. Reminds me of the times we used to sing “Chaya Bola Iwe” pa woodlands stadium.

  4. I said it every team is beatable. No need to play names ZESCO can term this west African teams which has been a pain in the neck to Southern African team. Its time we beat the chaps. VIVA ZESCO. Well done this is a good result. Hope Chipolopolo boys can do the same to Egypt in the March 29th game. Bravol!

  5. ZESCO should have scored a goal away. With a nil-all scoreline, if the West Africans manage to score in Zambia, all they need is a draw and we are doomed.

  6. A scoreless draw is not an important result, mr. Coach, considering that Zesco were playing away.Anyway, GO ZESCO GO……………….AOOOOOL
