Zesco United Dim City

Share

Zesco United on Sunday began their Faz Premier Division title defense with a 2-1 home win over visiting City of Lusaka at the Trade fair Grounds in Ndola.

It was a good start for new coach Fighton Simukonda against his old club City who fired him in July last year.

Defender Roger Kamwandi put Zesco ahead in the 18th minute before Geoffrey Nsama equalized for City in the 38th minute.

On-loan signing midfield Josphat Nkhoma scored the winner in the 59th minute to record his first goal for Zesco since joining them in January from Lusaka Dynamos.

Zesco nestle in 6th place on 3 points, three behind Power Dynamos who maintained their 100 percent start to the new season under Mohamed Fathy with a 3-1 away win over Nakambala Leopards on Saturday.

  1. am sure yamoto even this season will be playing for survival, too bad for zamtel to be loosing to teams like GBFC, and congrates to zanaco they played very good football. hope LT will be giving us fixtures and logs for our local league. (including division one)

    • IWE just shut up! You don’t know what you are writing about. Can you compare ZAMTEL with GBFC sure. Maybe you just like the name ZAMTEL. When were you last in Zambia?

  2. The problem is that Zesco keeps ‘Dimming” homes as well! Continue dimming fellow football clubs. Good start.
