Visiting Australian Governor General, Quentin Bryce, says her
government is eager to support efforts of improving maternal health in Zambia.

Mrs. Bryce said Zambia and Australia have enjoyed strong bonds of relations, hence her country’s determination to support Zambia’s programmes in line with vision of achieving the Millenium Development Goals, MDGs.

She said this in Chongwe yesterday when she inspected Australian funded income generating youth projects at the Christian Children Fund, CCF, offices.

She also commended CCF for playing an important role in efforts of uplifting the living standards of vulnerable children in society.

She, further, added that youths are significant partners in national economic growth, hence required skills training to enhance their involvement.

And CCF Director, Victor Koyi, is happy with the continued support that his organization is getting from the Austrian government through the Child fund.

Mr. Koyi said the fund has helped improve the well being of vulnerable children and youths in communities.

He has also disclosed that CCF Zambia through the child fund in the next five years will scale up programmes in maternal health, education, and in the reduction of HIV/AIDS programmes among others.

    • Ba Moze, these are areas I beleive we can do on our own. Honestly, for how long will we continue living on foreign aid?

  1. Am I the only one being irritated by these new features LT is introducing on this site?
It’s become very slow and less user-friendly. I prefer the older version mwe!

    • This is why you see less of me on LT nowadays. Its so irritating, to say the least. With this feature, one is unable to follow comments in a logical manner, unlike before. I propose we petition LT to revert to the old one or bring about something new. This one has failed lamentably. LT, i know you feel me!!

  2. Governor General Quentin Bryce, a very respected lady indeed. Mrs Bryce means what she says. Maternal isues, one of her greatest instincts and close to her heart, being a mother ,grandmother and greatmother herself.

  3. Australia wants to buy your vote….don’t fall for the side show!

She is diminishing her stature begging for Africa to give us a seat on U.N council.

Real Australians don’t accept our link to the queen anymore.
This lady is a nobody really.

  4. #5. Are you a POM? Not even direct descendants of POMS have such an attitude towards the Governor general. Not even the indegenous ozzy, Kangaroo nor a koala has such an attitude. Respect the lady please..
Stop using the coins, change most names of cities in Ozzy if you dont accept a link with the queen.
    Some history came to stay.
Mind what you say in public…

    • I can see you are very sensitive on issues like this mama! Just relax, the man is expressing an opinion. Osakalipa mama, ok?

    • Ok naumfwa Ba Moze.
There is no need for any one to display their ignorance dangerously on public forum. Some comments are un called for.

    • I’m not a pommie reject.

I’m a 3rd generation Aussie who considers we have had enough of the queen’s rule and voted on the referendum to remove all links to the queen.
Pity the wording and heirachy of the referendum failed to pass the vote back in the 90’s.

Real Aussie’s do not like or agree with the English monarchy and you can easily tell this by the way Prince Charles is characterized in our news stories.
      He is a clown!
If you ask us to change the names of towns in Australia……look to Zambia first to remove all names of towns.(some have been done but not all).
Don’t be 2 faced on your opinions.

The lady is not a DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED PERSON> Why bother giving her…
