A 36 year old man of Chijilo village in Chavuma district in Northwestern Province was on Thursday last week killed by a crocodile while fishing in the night.
Chavuma District Council Chairman Geoffrey Kasonda confirmed the development to ZANIS in Solwezi and identified the deceased as Willis Chizungu of Sanjongo area.
Mr. Kasonda said the recovered remains of the deceased have since been buried by the shore of the Zambezi River.
He has since appealed to the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) to crop the reptiles, which he said have become vicious.
Mr. Kasonda has since appealed to Chavuma residents to be careful when they on the river.
He disclosed that three lives have since been lost through crocodile attacks since the beginning on the rain season this year.

Ma kolokodailo nayeve yazavuta this year.Ba ZAWA should crop down these beasts before vikalibe Kutusiliza.That 36 year man was a breadwinner that is why he was out in the night trying to make ends meet. This is a resource the wildlife organisation have to harness and crop, use the revenue to improve sanitation in these villages also invest in skills.
