MMD behaviour saddens Senior Chief Mujimansovu

Share

Senior Chief Mujimansovu of the Kaonde people in Solwezi in North-Western Province says he is saddened over the harassement of Provincial Permanent Secretary Eustern Mambwe by MMD cadres. This happened last week when Vice President, George Kunda, visited Solwezi district.

Senior Chief Mujimansovu expressed his saddness when he paid a courtesy call on Dr Mambwe in his office, and observed that those staging protests against the Permanent Secretary were not only dangerous to the province but also to the good reputation of the MMD party in the area.

The visibly annoyed chief said he observed with dismay, some senior government officials’ intentions and attempts to hold North-Western Province to ransom at the expense of development.
He appealed to the President to set up a team to investigate the matter and take stern action against those who will be found guilty.

The Senior Chief alleged that whatever transpired at Solwezi airport when the Vice President visited the province was instigated by some senior government officials and was not the wish of the people of North-Western province.

He further advised people in his chiefdom and the province as a whole to stop embarrassing themselves but instead focus on issues that could bring development to the province during this era of global economic crisis.

Some MMD cadres humiliated North-Western Province Permanent Secretary, Dr Eustern Mambwe, at Solwezi airport by carrying placards and banners denouncing him during the visit of Vice President Kunda last week.

  1. Dr Mambwe testified against Dora, hence the reason for his harassement by MMD cadres. This is our new Zambia, MMD cadres in control.

  2. ITS THE CULTURE OF RBs POLITICS.CADRES,MERCENERIES AND SO ON CAN BE HIRED AS LONG AS YOU HAVE MONEY. NYAMA POLITICS

  3. This is a sad culture where the fate of our technocrats will be decided by cadres.RB tell your cadres to behave for its hese techhnocrats keep your govt running and not those cadres.Chiluba used to enjoy this,Levy put it to a stop coz he at one time was a victim and now you seem to be taking us backwards in long strides.

  4. On “Some MMD cadres humiliated North-Western Province Permanent Secretary, Dr Eustern Mambwe, at Solwezi airport by carrying placards and banners denouncing him during the visit of Vice President Kunda last week”, this behaviour as long as it is not violent must be encouraged for we are in a democracy. However, I want to believe that the Permanent Secretary is a Civil Servant and not a political public officer. In light of this, the chief has a point.

Anyhow, let the MMD through the request clean whatever mess ensued at that event.

  5. When rule of law breaks down, this is the end result. The police chief is a doormat, he eats out of the hands of his political masters. Party cadres, otherwise political thugs, don’t represent the views of the people and therefore this can not be termed as democratic demonstration.

  6. Chief step aside and leave the dirty game of politics go its way. Do not by all means get involved. Feel sad yes, but avoid getting into the arena.

  7. Jamaco, the Chief has the right to advise his subjects to avoid cheap politics. The current politics being playe by Banda & the new MMD stink like faeces,it’s time people that cannot be touched speak out otherwise no one will.

  8. and what do u expect bro George to say?he must have been smiling….the tribunal issues are haunting him..
