Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, Lt Gen Ronnie Shikapwasha, says he did not send Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) Director General, Joseph Salasini, on forced leave.
Lt Gen Shikaphwasha says it is not correct that he sent the ZNBC Director Genral on leave, but Mr Salasini offered to stay away and apply for formal leave.
This is contained in a press statement by the Minister on the alleged forced leave of the ZNBC Director General released to in Lusaka this evening.
Lt Gen Shikapwashya, however, confirmed that he had held several meetings with the leaders of the workers’ representatives at ZNBC following their petition to remove the Board of Directors and senior managers.
He said the workers’ representatives presented him with a number of issues that they had raised with management and about which there had been no agreement, adding that they also alleged financial mismanagement.
The minister said, in response to their petition and request for his intervention, he has asked the Auditor Generals office to move in quickly to undertake a financial and performance audit.
As for the other demands concerning the removal of the board and management, the Minister said there was an agreement that those matters could follow a thorough study of the issues raised and in accordance with the existing ZNBC Act.
Lt Gen Shikapwasha also confirmed that he discussed the concerns of the workers and his decision to invite the Auditor Generals office with ZNBC Director General.
“In order of the Auditor General to undertake this audit, the Director General offered to stay away and apply for leave,” Lt Gen Shikapwasha said.

ooh this clown again! he makes me sick! is this the face of zambia’s pr?
mutamfyenifye salasini naimwe.
Its difficult to know whether the self proclaimed Reverend is speaking the truth.
The top job job at ZNBC is a poisoned chalice. The root of the problems is deeper than most people appreciate and any person that takes the role will find it nearly impossible to run the public broadcaster.
Honorable Right Reverend Shikapwasha, you are slowly becoming an expert of telling half truth which is nothing but partially true statement intended to deceive and mislead people. Why ask the Auditor General`s office to move in quickly? Just say it plainly there is financial mismanagement , is that difficult to state.. wonders never cease
If the Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, Lt Gen Ronnie Shikapwasha and his office did not send ZNBC Director General, Joseph Salasini, on forced leave, then Mr Salasini did it himself but if he did not, then who did it?
The truth of the matter is Rev. General Ronald Shikapwasha was briefed that he has no power to suspend the DG and was shown the statutes hence the change of statement. He is also becoming Rev Gen Ron Wabufi Shikapwasha.
#5 Wiseman Reborn, a half truth is a whole lie.
The Government Inspector – Comrade Shikapwasha
So he applied for some leave. That is his right but if Mr Shikapwasha really sent him on forced leave then he is at this juncture trying to blind fold us. Anyways tomorrow will emerge with different news. Time will tell who the liar is.
He is scared of being fired by RB. Who knows Salasini case may be another Doras Liya
# 8 Kwandangala , you are very right , it is a greatest form of deception which is basically lies which most politicians use to deceive the masses by adding some element of truth to false statements
Same old cheap politics from a pack of lying scumbags. One day you say one thing, the next you deny having said it.
This Minister of Disinformation and Non-Broadcasting Services is forever speaking in double-speak. From information on our late president to simple issues like this.
Easy to deal with Salasini’s job than Dora Siliya’s job?
Following “Lt Gen Shikaphwasha says it is not correct that he sent the ZNBC Director Genral on leave, but Mr Salasini offered to stay away and apply for formal leave“, this is very impressive as claimed on ““In order of the Auditor General to undertake this audit, the Director General offered to stay away and apply for leave,” Lt Gen Shikapwasha said“. I just hope this is the whole truth for one day all of us must account for our words.
To the parties involved all the very best and keep well in your activities. The truth shall surely set all of us free.
The problem with Rev. Shikapwasha is that he likes speaking in tongues.Instead putting matters plain,he goes round and round spicing everything with lie.Learn to tell the truth Rev.
# 17 These are merely lies with a coat of truth amounting to deception…This is a tool politicians use ,technically they can not be held responsible because it is all deception… simply put deception and deception is not a virtue it is a vice
wait….wina aza lila.
The people who tell half truth are called liars and fall under the following ; 1. Occasional liars 2. Frequent liars 3. habitual liars 4. Professional liars 5. Popular lies 6. Unpopular liars 7. Pathological liars 8. Noted liars 9. Pulpit liars 10. Instructor liars… The famous 10 L.
we all fall in one group or more , It is the level of responsibility that one holds which is very frightening … lies will always be lies .And no liar shall enter the kingdom , since the kingdom is not ours let us all be truthful anyhow as a society norm and virtue
Quotations are a true reflection of character and other personality traits . LT and LT indeed , with you wonders never cease …. Liars are liars .. new bones shall rule and old bones to the farm and the snakes accompany…….. Free to admonish
Can salasini come out in open and tell the public what transpared. Is it true you applied for a leave or not or your were forced to go on leave?
Thats fine, Mr. Shikapwasha.

Happy labour day all diligent workers of Zambia ,in the absence of Nyama soya … As for the posting in #21 you win for knowing my blogging details ,lest be assured I shall never change … you have tried before under wiseman , now it is the actual name , yes no liars shall enter the kingdom so the good book says , sorry I had to state and medically classify all liars and it hurting to people … the truth always pains . Come in the open ….
Goodmorning bloggers, #22 Mwiponta, thats the problem we have in Zambia, even victims dont have the morals to tell the truth. Remember it will be perceived as Mwiponta Mukabwela. I am sure thats the end of Salasini at ZNBC but very soon he will join you guys in the diaspora appointed by these same liars. I dont know what kind of goverment this is where every word they say has to be underlined and then scrutinised, it does not seem true and we always suspect there is an element of lie in it and at the end of the day we are always right, they lied to us. Hey, amagents 2011 we need change but with who?
#26 Need change how are the labour day preparations/commemorations at this point in the absence of Nyama soya… I will be following them very keenly til noon …
While its the same usual, year in year out. They have been preparing of course causing huge traffic jams when they close the road Independence avenue that is from Kamwala to the robots at SDA Central church. The rest, I dont know maybe because I dont really read state owned papers, nothing much has been mentioned in the post. I am sure Nyama soya’s young boy George Kunda, another lier will be there to exactly do what you have already alluded to at #5 and #12. Whether Nyama Soya was there or not I dont see any difference, or any change in inspiration. Thats that Wiseman-reborn
Thanks for your candor …. Need change ,Nu Begining in Z
Kwena paliba umona umukamba uyu !
I WONDER HOW BORING THE NEWS SHOULD BE WITH SUCH CONFUSIONS AT ZNBC. 3PIN HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS FOR ZNBC. INSTEAD OF IMPROVING THE TRANSMISSIONS AND QUALITY OF PROGRAMMES THEY CRY FOR MORE SALARIES. DIRECTORS BECOME FAT AND BIG
Katwishi ?
yaba!!not again!!skiwashi we are tired of u!
If only wrath would consume those that have made us a laughing stock, when I stood myself before the ravaging locusts, what did I get? The worst disgrace, a laughing audience and scorn instead of pity. If it wasn’t for the little kiddies about, I would have freely let my tears flow. Now , what do I desire? An equal share of those that harangue me and my clan.
Let my dogs also share, the joy of my vindication unlimited by their disgrace.
#34, And the point being??
The black box, that window through which our disgrace was spewed for all to see was the cause of our immortal shame. A piece of the Director General we desire, who holds sway to that monster. Why they chose our disgrace instead of our art, we will never guess.
We dont need him afteral he concocketed alot of story you RB and his minion. It is good redance
Don’t these people have annual audits of ZNBC. This is only 1st May. Last year’s audited report should have just come out. No need for another one.
Are they saying ZNBC does not produce audited reports.
And do the Auditor Genral have to be told which parastatals to audit. One would expect that they already audit all govt arms and parastatal firms or at least ensure that state companies are audited by private audit firms such as PwC or Deloitte.
Just how dow we manage our companies in Zed? How can the Govt own companies yet they dont have reports on how the companies are doing. Which ministry is responsible for managing ZNBC? We should demand better use of tax payers money, PAYE etc.
Is this shikapwanya telling us the truth? Proverbs 10:9
#38, I feel your pain!! Hard to believe, isn’t it?
