Government has urged youths to start tackling real issues that will help develop the country as they aspire for leadership .
Deputy Minister of Sports, Youths, and Child Development, Angela Cifire said the country needs effective leadership from the youths to overcome the current challenges the country is facing.
Ms. Cifire said the country has lagged behind in development because the youths who make up more than 60% of the population are failing to tackle real issues that can contribute to the development of the country.
She said this when she officiated at the leadership training workshop for Young Women Leadership Academy which was organised by Youth Vision Zambia in Lusaka today.
Ms. Cifire said her ministry has designed strategies to enhance effective youth leadership and development by supporting the youths to become positive agents of change.
Ms. Cifire said Government has embarked on courses at King George National Youth College in Kabwe aimed at grooming the youths in different sectors of leadership for good future leaders.
And a participant from the Youth Alliance for Development of Solwezi, Jacqueline Kafwimbi has challenged fellow youths to take up the challenge and start contributing to the development of the country.
Ms. Kafwimbi said youths should rise above parties and politics

well said.Indeed we need more youths taking up many leadership positions in the country ,it is because of these lack of youthfull leaders that we are still under the leadership of old and over used minds like abena nyama soya.So youths lets take up this challenge and be the next prisidoes of tommorow
This is bull S****t, these politicians have been saying this from Kaunda days, yet they keep on appointing old chaps like VJ and munkombwe… It is not a matter of the youth having big ideas, they already have.. the problem; the youth are not given a platform to grow… Citfire stop the scrap… you are probably reading one of Kaunda speaches.
Talk is cheap bloody politicians!!!!
That’s it! I hope my many other friends would be awakened as I am, to take up their position in this nation. The problem is not the same ole people in power it’s the people not realizing who they are supposed to be in society to bring about positive change.
Give us youth Land to Develop we are ready but how to get the LAND IS A PROBLEM.
#3 Pan Africanist, mune walasa!!
Cifire is a piece of shit.He doesnt visit his constituency to see what problems her electorate have. The road going to Chadiza is the worst in the country and I really dont remember when last a grader worked on that road.It is very disturbing that,Chadiza being a town where Rupiah is coming from can have a road which is reduced to a track for scotch carts.Shame on RB & his Girlfriends, you shall never enjoy this life coz, people’s spirits will haunt you forever.
Well said, but the Gorvenment has failed the Youth of this Country. It is my hope that u should begin to retire some old Monks from the Govt such as VJ, Munkombwe and others. What is it that is so sweet that u don’t want to leave and give room to the Youth also????
