Share

Senior Chief Puta of the Bwile people of Chiengi district of Luapula province has invited President Rupiah Banda to grace this year’s Ubwilile traditional ceremony which falls on August 8, 2009.

Senior Chief Puta extended the invitation through Luapula Province Minister, Boniface Kawimbe, on Sunday when he visited his palace to check on preparatory works for the ceremony.

The senior chief noted that traditional ceremonies were of great importance to the economic drive of the nation because they promoted domestic tourism which brought local people together.

He said his people appreciated the support that government rendered to ceremonies in ensuring that they were a success.

He added that the Bwile people were also thankful for the support that the private sector has been giving to the ceremony, adding that the local people were working hard to ensure that the ceremony was a success.

Chief Puta said the ceremony’s total budget was K150 million and that local people had so far contributed about K45 million in the form of material and labour.

He said the private companies that have been requested to assist in the preparations of the Ubwilile ceremony have not yet responded, but hoped that they would assist the people of Chiengi to make the ceremony a success.

And Dr Kawimbe told Chief Puta that he would take the invitation message to President Banda.

  5. It seems RB is a nyau. He cant miss a traditional ceremony. Lets wait and see whether he will come back empty handed when he goes to attend the Swaziland ceremony where young girls are paraded for easy picking by King Mswati

  6. woman of subs, the cow thing, even the Tanzanian Prez will skim our prez is loony. that c.r.a.p. only happened in the shaka days and if it happens anywhere nowadays its in these countries with dictators were they dont give a toss wat the nation thinks about the buck being spent.

  7. Both opposition leaders like SATA,HH and RB are outwitting each other to attend these ceremonies.there is a lot of political mileage to get out of them.

  8. Beside,ka chief puta is one hell of a ka chief who overates himself in zambia.he is too pompous.those who follows is rheetoric will deduce this.i think it all boders to lack of education.in Tonga land where a lot of chiefs have an Education background there is sanity even when there are blushes like between chief monze and mukuni an element of nomalcy prevails.i remember how he tried to intimidate levy when katele was being pursued by law enforcement officers

  9. State House Release – MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE HIS EXCELLENCY RUPIAH BANDA TO YOUR KITCHEN PARTIES, BABY SHOWERS AND HOUSE PARTIES. HE LOVES A GOOD TIME AND GIFT EXCHANGING. YOU MAY JUST BE THE NEXT PERSON TO RECEIVE A PREGNANT COW!

  10. Zoona mwe mfumu, kanabesa, umwine wa kalungu namenshi, ba Senior Chief Puta ala enshita ino ine iyakulyamo.
RB only has up to 2011 so my chief milk him as much as possible. Just promise him 100% votes ninshi twalya- bwanama

  11. I do not blame chief Puta for asking “summoning” RB to attend Ubwi something ceremony…RB has been all over the country gracing traditional ceremonies…..the biggest achievement he has scored so far.

  12. Woman of NO SUBSTANCE state house is not haunted you are the one who is haunted from the ghosts of your past life

  13. #15,16 Imbwa – Your name says it all. You need to leave me alone. Last week you left alot of insults for me and I never answered you.

You are coward and a miserable human being, get a life!

  15. Chief Puta = Katele Kaluma

Chief Puta and his subjects will continue to support Katele Kalumba and pretend to extend the same support to the president . From the previous general Elections ,it is evident that the people in Chiengi district support Katele Kalumba as an Individual not the MMD party. This can further be traced back at the parttern of voting during LPM era were Patriotic front emerged victorius at presidential level but lost the parliamentary vote to Katele Kalumba .

  16. RB just delegate Dr.Kawimbe to attend the ceremony.Mwantamanga maningi mudala.Every Jim and Jack WILL JUST BE SAYING R&B here i have a party just come over.

  17. There too many traditional ceremonies countrywide will RB be managing to attend all of them. Ministry of Local Govt should consult with all stakeholders so that they come up with a long term plan. Its common to find that one province has more than 5 different traditional ceremonies. There is alot of things needed for this politicians to fix not just being choppered from one ceremony to another.

  18. why shouldn’t a head of state attend ceremonies. I am haapy with even every weekend. He needs to travel round , see pepole , hear problems. And all these ceremonies are over the weekend, when most peopole are resting. Let it be his style and legacy of paying attention to zambia’s traditional heritage

  19. I refer to comments from Akapondo. As Senior Chief Puta’s subject, I find Akapondo’s comments offensive. Senior Chief Puta is a decent man with responsibilities to protect and defend his subjects. When he defended Ba Katele Kalumba, he was just simply doing the obvious. There was nothing wrong he did. Please , for goodness sake desist from insulting any one in authority including politicians. Senior Chief Puta is an educated man even though he may not have degrees you are boasting about but he is ok with what he has attained in life.
I really don’t understand why people like Akapondo think Chiefs are beggars. For your information Senior Chief Puta is one of the richest Chiefs in this country and he lives well. Please desist from the culture of insults. Respect must always prevail.

  20. Filalungula,
My bro’.iam sorry for the offensive language i used against the chief..i admit my folly and bear with me.i hope you will accept my being gentle.
