A five year old boy of Tazara compound in Serenje was yesterday ran over and crushed to death by a bulldozer.
Police District Officer Commanding Daniel Muteteka confirmed this in Serenje today.
Mr Muteteka said the boy was with a sister coming from a nursery school when the accident happened.
He described the accident as unfortunate saying the bulldozer operator was trying to give way to another vehicle that was coming from the opposite direction.
He explained that he driver of the bulldozers is being held by police in Serenje over the matter.
Mr. Muteteka named the boy as Kelvin Munsanje.
Government road making equipment is in Serenje working on some roads.

young innocent life lost. nothin is as pure as the spotless innocence of a child. and its especially painful when that life is taken away in the most tragic of ways. bet this child was lookin foward to gettin home, playing with his toys or dog or somethin or maybe he couldnt wait to go talk about the pictures the teacher had told him to draw to his mum or dad or maybe just get a change of clothes and dash out to the neighbours house to play with his friend. makes u think doesnt it? about the criteria used to take lives. wat purpose does a serial murderer serve being kept alive to enoy the life this young soul had every rite to enjoy?

Sad story. But the blame falls at government. Who took those machines to serenje just win an election. The driver must have over worked, tired and hungry. Trying to please George kunda and MMD ailetelela. With this loss of life so whichever party sent this driver there will loss this election.

I guess the bulldozer is a campaign gimmick for Rupiah Banda MMD. Buldozers are rare in Serenje only for election purpose..
