Vice President George Kunda has advised the labour movement in the country to stop unnecessary criticism of government but offer solutions that will help improve people’s welfare.
Mr. Kunda says the labour movement should not only be effective when criticizing government but should also compliment government’s good service delivery to the people.
He said a good working relationship between government, the labour union and employers is vital to the success of the country adding that it also helps in attracting investment.
Mr. Kunda said this at the official inauguration of the new headquarters for the Zambia Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU) in Lusaka today.
He said government is committed to dialogue with all stakeholders in the labour sector to ensure that there is a conducive environment for both social and economic development.
He said dialogue among these stakeholders will see fewer impediments in service delivery which is key for national development.
Mr. Kunda has meanwhile said government will remain open to constructive criticism from everyone who wants to help advance the interest of the common people.
He disclosed that government will start having Indabas with the labour union where various issues affecting the workers will be discussed.
And earlier, ZCTU President Leonard Hikaumba called on politicians to stop insulting each other in public and devise ways of developing the country.
Mr. Hikaumba said the current situation where political leaders are always insulting each other is regrettable and not good for the Zambian culture.
He said there is need to restore cultural heritage where politicians will start respecting each other for the benefit of all Zambians.
ZANIS
On “Vice President George Kunda has advised the labour movement in the country to stop unnecessary criticism of government but offer solutions that will help improve people’s welfare” what happened to the Indaba solutions. How many solutions does the MMD GRZ need in order for it to govern Zambia well especially when they do not listen to take heed to advice?
As for “He disclosed that government will start having Indabas with the labour union where various issues affecting the workers will be discussed“, I hope the indabas will not be social events — aimed at wasting National resources — to appease some would-be voters.
Have a blessed day all.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
“Mr. Kunda says the labour movement should not only be effective when criticizing government but should also compliment government’s good service delivery to the people ” The question is What if they dont see any good delivery of service! What should they do or say?Give them the alternative thing to do apart from just criticizing.
Normal people, especially leaders need loads of criticism to get them working. People voted for you Kunda because you brainwashed them to believe you could solve their problem. Come on man, solve them man instead of always grumbling about criticism and neglecting your mandated duties.
