Former Kasama Central Constituency Member of Parliament Saviour Chishimba says youths must take up leadership roles and contribute to national development.
Dr Chishimba made the pronouncements today during the official launch of the United Progressive People (UPP) party at Broadway Cinema Hall today.
He said currently the country lacks transformational leaders who need to spearhead developmental projects.
Dr Chishimba explained that the UPP had come with a gentle but revolutionary voice and that it would stand the test of time as it was founded on sound principles.
Speaking earlier, UPP Chairperson Mable Manda said the party would in the next three months hold a party convention where party leaders would be elected into office.
And party General Secretary Carolyn Nanyangwe said the people of Zambia had for the past 45 years yearned for a leadership that guaranteed justice and dignity for all.

True Zambia needs transformational leaders but NOT people like you Chishimba. What experience have you in any meaningful organisation? Who awarded you the fake Doctorate you talk about? What did you do in Kasama central since you became MP? Unguided ambitions are what kills Zambia. If you tell me that you are inviting credible people to work with you, probably yes, but if your ambition is to look and act like Kapwepwe, then forget it because Kapwepwe practised tribal politics which we cannot entertain anymore in Zambia.
I think you have been sleeping too much with Ms Cifire or is called over indulging? What transformational leadership can this guy bring to the table. Nobody interfered with your role as an MP in Kasama. What transformation did you bring there. Don’t waste people time with your over intoxication with Ms Cifire’s love

#1 and #17 please do not insult Kapwepwe MHSRIP. Kapwepwe disagreed with KK because he saw where the country was going decades before you ended up were you are now. He was a visionary. All that tribalism sentiments came from his polical rivals, his assailants, to tarnish his name. You, Zambia, killed him and now you are doomed with RB as your leader. Its a living Hell. A question to all fellow bloggers….why are zedians so negative about their own country? This mentality reflects from citizens all the way up to leaders. Before you comment against my sentiments just read through all the comments, and refer to other news articles..90% negative. Its impossible to develop with such an attitude. I dont think Chishimba has done or said anything that justifies all the sewer material being thrown at him. Now we plan to have atleast five projects to be executed every year upon people putting us into power.Now the make up of these projects will be interesting in that we want to balance up things in this country because us for once are fed up with our economy relying on one country and that is South Africa and China when we have all the resources in our country.The five projects will cover Agriculture,Technology,Construction,Social and Implementation.Lets look at the Social part this party will work to make sure that existing business houses are helped and taken care of by our government be it foreign investor or local investor.Our principal is one is better than zero.The indians in our country will stay and these others but the only thing that we will do is to discus with them on how we can
