Share

The Former Freedom Fighters Association of Zambia (FFFAZ) has urged government to begin implementing the resolutions of the recently held national economic Indaba.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Ndola over the weekend, FFFAZ national chairman, Ezekiel Bwanga observed that government has not started implementing the resolutions of the Indaba.

He said this is despite the resolutions of the Indaba were supposed to be urgent means of cushioning the negative impact of the global economic crunch on the Zambian economy.

Mr Bwanga urged government not to relax on measures aimed at sustaining economic survival because the global economic crisis is not yet over.

He added that the impact of the crisis is still being borne among Zambian families especially on the Copperbelt where thousands of miners were left without jobs.

He cited recommendations such as improving the agriculture sector as one of the critical recommendations which was mentioned by most participants.

He said the proposals on agriculture need serious consideration and immediate implementation so that the country can have a diversified export earning avenues to strengthen the economy as well as enhancing food security locally.

Mr Bwanga noted that the country’s economy will not grow economically if government continues shelving economic advice from specialized stakeholders.

He said the country was still in economic problems and all necessary corrective measures should be implemented including the resolutions of the recent indaba.

  1. Mr. Bwanaga’s concern on lack of implementation of th Indamba Resolutions raises a lot of questions on the political will of those we voted into office. The whole thing was done to deceive the majority that thwe GRZ was working. Many months have passed and nothing positive is coming out of it. No wonder the likes PF leader King Cobra boycotted and termed such a gathing a sheer waste of taxpayers money. What can the Minister Finance say on this matter.

  2. What Freedom Fighters!!! We got independence 45years ago! Damn we are still talking about freedom fighters!!!! What a Country

  3. What resolutions can be implemented from talk shops? That was a waste of Taxpayers money from the onset, the budget was already passed & Bwezani starts coming up with his usual money wasting activities

  4. I was told a story by my old friend who worked at state house between 1992 and 1994. In a Cabinet meeting, FTJ kept ranting about democracy and the evils of the one party state for almost one and half hours. Then suddenly, LPM the then Veep asked him a question – Mr. President, are we going to our constituencies with these same words? When are we going to start doing the things we promised during the campaign? FTJ broke into laughter and said Levy, you are not a politician – KK didn’t do everything he promised in 27years, what makes you think I can do them in 2 years? I need 50 years to beat KK. That appeared like a joke but that was FTJ’s plan for zambia. Enjoy your day countrymen!!

  5. # 3 Maybe it would be more appropriate to say What a World! Even the UK still talks of World War Vets, Zim alot other countries….Maybe people will now understand what it means when others tell you to boycott some of these wasteful ventures. Now those with a conscience should feel bad that they wasted the countries resources.

  6. Old MAn, learn from this experience that you have just been used ?? Next time, do not allow yourself to be used just like that??

  7. You people always the same stories everydays anyways i am searching for other sites with more personal daily updates i found a few hence i dont spend a lot of time here i thinking of openning a online charity that helps people directly and not through NGO. I came across a site where they or he/she has set up there own site and they make money for themselves when people click on adds on the site or use the google search on the web you can check it out if you like and help hivpositivelife . com sorry i paste this on all topics but i was touched

  8. #3, Tonga Bull, are you some kind of retard. The British fought the Second World War in 1914 to 1918 and they are stll talking and honouring their veterans. This country will never be anything until we start respecting those who make sacrifices for it. PLease Tonga Bull, get some civilisation if you never got any from your father.

  9. ha ha, get a load of the headline ati “Implement Indaba resolutions” majority of the sh!t heads at the indaba dont even remember wat they talked about. Pineapple face (RB) was fast asleep for petes sake! i think these veterans are just settin up the govt, a “Twalamona efyo balalanda” situation after an argument amongst themselves that the Indaba was a total waste of buck and time.

  10. 9 BA KAMUTANDA BAPITA BAYA… History was never your Strong point at school”world war 2 in 1914 to 1918″ Please tells us more, like what war was in 1945, at least Tonga Bull knows his history and if his retard then what are you.

  11. Good advice from the old man. But such showns are mare talk shows by the government so that they can reduce blame prom the public on them Good evening

  12. who is this guy ezekiel? in zambia any one can come out of the wood work and take the platform. Please desist from comparing with real war veterans. Their feats are documented. where is this man’s involvement in our struggle is he documented. Being old does not amount to being a freedom fighter

  13. THE SO CALLED FREEDOM FIGHTERS SHOULD BE FIGHTING AGAINST THE SALE OF OUR LAND AND INHERITANCE TO FOREIGNERS. THE MINES ARE GONE, ZAMTEL IS GONE SOON VICTORIA FALLS WILL GO.

  14. Former Freedom fighter! Former! There is too much group think here. When the first poster goes negative, its like he scripts everybody. Whaaa!

  15. Pornstar Please! And while they are fighting against the sale of your this or that, what are you doing, tossing the salad? Get off of your fat lazy behind and fight your wars!

  16. We have to give the freedom fighters the respect they deserve because they care more for the country than we ever could because they fought for it’s freedom and it probably hurts them a lot to see the state the country is in but times are changing and they should know that they don’t have much of an effect on politics in Zambia. It’s time for a revolution to take place in Zambia. We need a leader who understand the young and upcoming generation and how the world of today works. We can not continue to have people in power who were born in Rhodesia and not Zambia in power! It’s time for change!!!
