Police in Monze have arrested a man who stormed SKY FM radio station on Monday night, destroying property worth millions of Kwacha.
SKY FM Sales and Marketing Executive, Paul Siambala, confirmed the incident to ZNBC news.
He said the man gained entry into the radio station after breaking windows using a fire extinguisher.
Mr. Siambala said the man then grabbed the microphone from the announcer on duty and insulted President Rupiah Banda and Information Minister, Ronnie Shikapwasha.
He said he was alerted by listeners and immediately informed police who apprehended the suspect.

He should be very upset with the way RB and Shikapwasha are running things.

Guys read the story on the post web, It seems the guy was sent by MMD guys in Ndola. The guy was saying RB has failed to due with the post and some radio stations like SKY FM so he would do it for him. He went further to to say RB is corrupt thats why he has failed to deal with the post and SKY FM. It appears its the work of MMD.

With ultimatums about media regulation on the horizon, these are the kinds of things that will be frustrating people. So I have no comment about this man but as a good judge would do, it is like killing a man who you find laying your wife, you can claim partial insanity and get away with it, the only thing against this man is that he will need to prove to the courts that there was no other way of taking out his frustrations!

Charge the owners of SKY FM Monze for failing to secure the air station. We are lucky this man was just expressing his anger at the leadership of this country in his own way. Its good that most of broadcasting houses in Lusaka have bin located around Mass Media area for security reasons. If he was that disgrantled he would have alarmed the local community with the unspeakable announcement. In any case the man acted in his own and the rest is History.
The owners of the Radio station should be delt with that was negligence on their part and its a wake up call for other radio stations. The guy was sent by MMD to make people belive that the radio station is useless, not Long aga there was a wrangle between Sky FM and Shikapwasha it was not resolved they wanted to close the station but somehow they failed and now they have a reason to close the station. I’ve always said on this blog that the only way to remove MMD is to employ any means necessary.Come 2011 MMD will still be in power through rigging and RB as president.Any means necessary is the only way forward.The only free and fair election in Zambia was in November 1991 when we removed Kaunda,all the others have been fraudulant.
