Zesco United fans in Ndola call for buses

ZESCO Football Club supporters have appealed to the Club management to arrange buses to ferry them to Lusaka for the remaining matches that would be played in the Lusaka.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS sports in Ndola, today, the fans said supporters were an integral part of any teams performance hence the need for the club executive to ferry them to and from the Capital City for the on-coming matches.

Japhet Mwamba observed that while Lusaka based fans would troop to sunset stadium to cheer ZESCO, there was need for the team to ferry its own indigenous supporters from its home town.

He said failing to ferry the Ndola based fans to Lusaka would simply show that the club does not appreciate the support it receives from its fans.

He explained that it would be very difficult for ZESCO FC to come and remobilize its supporters for league matches at the Trade Fair grounds if the club chooses to lose its indigenous supporters.

Another fan, Lucius Mbewe also observed that Ndola based fans needed to be ferried to Lusaka for the match.

Mbewe said the same arrangements that were made for fans during the previous Chililabombwe outing should be extended for the Lusaka outing.

ZESCO FC is this Saturday expected to host El Merreikh at sunset stadium in Lusaka in an Orange Champions League Group A encounter. The Sudanese team arrives in the country on Thursday.

Al Hilal, also of Sudan, are leading the group with seven points, Zambia’s envoy ZESCO FC and Nigeria’s Kano Pillars have four points each, while El Merreikh are at the bottom of the group with a point.
