Share

President Rupiah Banda has arrived in Cuba for a three (3) day state visit at the invitation of his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro.

President Banda arrived at 12:10 Zambian time at Jose Marti International Airport, where he was received by that country’s Foreign Affairs deputy Minister, Marcos Robriguz.

President Banda told Journalists at the airport that Zambia stands to learn a lot from Cuba on how that country manages its economy using little resources.

He said Cuba may not be rich in terms of having money, but that its citizens and the government have the knowledge of how to use the little resources available.

The President further said Zambia will also learn a lot from Cuba in terms of agricultural science and medicine.

He said Zambia and Cuba share warm relations, adding that Cuba helped some African countries fight to win their political independence.

President Rupiah Banda further said Zambia has benefited from Cuba through the many scholarships that country has offered to Zambian students in various disciplines.

  1. thats quite a shame fo a president to be welcomed by a duputy minister, isn’t it?? i think a presdo deserves better than that. my opinion…..

  2. World tour huh!!! N how much is this costing tax payers? N being welcomed by a deputy minister thts a shame rb looks like u not wanted everywer u go chikamba chobe…

  3. This ***** was “invited” as a courtesy deal and he took it literally. Anyway, this is what we call being snubbed .. received by a deputy minister, that is the Cuban government’s way of saying s*c*r*e*w you. Anyway, no matter what, RB will always be a loser …

  4. The first name of Cuban president is not “Ruo” but “Raul Castro” and you may add “Luz” at the end if you so wish.
Foreign Affairs deputy Minister’s surname is not “Robriguz” but “Rodrigues”. How will the Cubans look at you when you twist their leaders’ name at will as though its plucking masuku from a tree.

  5. RB, you did not need to travel all the way to Cuba to learn how to manage resources. Where is the Economics degree you boasted of during the campaigns? And here is one lesson for you which should have been very obvious: the Cuban president does not make unnecessary world tours. You have been out of the country for over a week and have visited 5 countries!

And wait a minute, does this not show that we don’t need this guy? He has been out of the country for over a week and we don’t miss him, and apparently neither does the economy. If everything is still functioning, shouldn’t we get rid of this guy to reduce on costs?

  6. Mr RB is a mulungushi traveller. On your way back pls make a stop over in Jamaica to get some “Joint” for your mate chiluba

  7. Seeking employment as travel companion to RB. Will be available for all nations at all times and do not mind if not met by anyone as long as am on board flight. Have no knowledge of politics RB style and therefore will ignore all deals on wheels. Have no education in under the table deals and will limit my personal media interaction to the travel blog sector. Any referees out there for me. Will not take payment in kind.
