Don’t reimburse Chiluba the money he deposited in ZAMTROP account-Chief Mwanachingwala

Share

Chief Mwanachingwala of Mazabuka has asked government not to entertain demands by second republican president, Frederick Chiluba to reimburse him the money he had deposited in the ZAMTROP account following his acquittal by the Lusaka Magistrate.

And the Chief has advised Dr Chiluba to stop testing the anger of Zambians because he will end up being the loser.

” He stands being embarrassed if he does not reduce himself, the only advice I can give Chiluba is to maintain a low profile and avoid being confrontational,” said Chief Mwanachingwala.

The chief told ZANIS in Mazabuka today that Government should only pay after Dr Chiluba has explained the source of his money.

Chief Mwanachingwala said it was wrong for the former President to deposit his personal money into a public account.

He said Zambians are bitter with what he termed as baseless claims and provocative statements coming from Dr Chiluba.

Chief Mwanachingwala said Dr Chiluba should maintain a low profile and avoid engaging in confrontations with Zambians as evidenced by the fights going on between some members of the civil society and Dr Chiluba.

  1. It is not his money so how can he be given.
If he really says its his money, then he should instruct the DPP to appeal his acquital so that he can prove in court under oath that it is his money.
The Zambians need to know the source of the money which is a government account before it can be given to anybody.
We challenge Chiluba to be brave and take this bold decision.

  2. He should reveal where all that money came from, US$35 million meant for Luanshya Copper Mines went missing during his tenure and has not been accounted, who cannot think this could be our money? Infact RB should release all the people in prison, Captain Solo and team must be released, because what Chiluba did is also serious. Release the prisoners and close the prisons because we have no judges in courts now!! Close the courts also, we can live like Kalahari people, probably they even have wiser leaders. The who thing sucks!!

  3. Simple logic, no need for King Solomon’s wisdom – you cannot deposit money in another account, even if you are Head of State!

  4. Bill Clinton only became a millionaire after leaving office. How can a president of a third world country become a millionaire? Zambians wake up and smell the coffee.

  5. From rags to riches! It simply means the chap was stealing $850,000 every year for 10 years. This is the same chap who was swindled K80m from his salary a/c coz he stopped drawing his salary for a long time. We shall overcome this little devil. Stupid *****!

  6. Chief , you are my man. If all these useless chiefs can learn from your bravery, Zambia can move forward. Alas we have chiefs with brainless heads in Zambia…what they look for is money from the MMD-thieves at the expense of their integrity. Go Go chief …I like your boldness.
As for chiluba’s claim…..I think he is dreaming in an utopia world. Who can give him our money just like that? If he is given , I urge all those who are signatories to govent accounts to also claim that they put billions of kwachas in those accounts so that they can be given in the same way Chiluba will be. VIVA HONKING HONKING HONKING FOR MOTHER ZAMBIA!!!!!

  7. This Must be the Only sensible Chief who truely represent his subjects,Unlike thoz Witches we see being Paid to talk by MMD,Kafupi is truely a little devil, does he even imagine how many Zambians died when he was stealing the monies which was ment for people’s welfare in all aspects of life? Ka size 5!

  8. I agree with what the chief has said. Chiluba should keep a low profile and not rub people’s noses in his acquital. He says that the money in question was given to him as gifts if that is the case, then why does he not publish the names of those who supposedly gave him the cash?

  9. The money in question is not going to chiluba. The MMD wants to get this money for their conpaign in 2011. They use Chiluba and Chiluba is using them to buy his freedom. This is anather scam in which a bad thief is stealing form good one. Watch how the events will unfold and see the virga on which RB and the turncoats are defending Chiluba. It not about principal but the $8m. God forbid.

  10. Ba FTJ should learn to keep quiet, there is no doubt that he has stolen our money and personally I have forgiven. I am a tax payer and I know how painful it is to pay tax which is not used to develop the country.

  11. Are these people FTJ is claiming gave him the money the ones he awarded hefty contracts to? Because there is no way, in this day and age, people can simply give millions away as a gift without a “quid pro co” Follow the source of this money and Kafupi will be in some worse sh!t than he recons

$8 million is some serious money for any one to have without a paper trail to explain the sources of it. And why in ‘hell’ would he deposit personal cash into a government account?! This man really thinks Zambians are daft. This is a clear case of a con man trying to con his way to some undeserved wealth—-THE GOVT & THE COURTS SHOULD REALLY BE CAREFUL TO KEEP ENTERTAINING THIS…

  12. We all know how he got the money, we know he doesn’t deserve to be paid back, but the state failed to prove that. So by law they need to pay him back. We need a better checks and balances system in government because public office employees continue to get wealthy off their low paying jobs.

  13. There are laws in our country on living beyond your means which are aimed at stopping corrupt practices. Chiluba couldn’t have earned 8.5 million on his salary as president. If he was investing in business ventures that earned him this then he must explain these ventures openly. If he received this money as gifts the givers must be openly announced so that we see who bribed him for what. That money belongs to the state. period

  14. You people have missed the point. They will now try and justify reimbursing Chiluba. That way they can steal $8m from the government coffers and share it. Why else do you think they are so adamant about Chiluba’s acquital. They are banking on Zambians being docile and dull as usual.

  15. Bwana Chiluba is a shameless thief. all and I mean All church leaders know that this man is a thief. Dont give him that money it belongs to the poor people of Zambia. Why is he so selfish, doent he know that the majority of Zambians can not afford a single meal? muzimvelako manyazi

  16. # 5. You are absolutely right. Not even George W. Bush, who hails from a wealthy family left office with that kind of money. Can these MMD zealots like, Senior Citizen and company explain where Kafupi got his so-called money from. This makes no sense at all. Zambians, take your country back from these hoodlums.

  17. Being a zambian does not mean being ignorant.Zambians shall be free when Chiluba goes to jail for at least 30years and all his team faces a minimum of 20 years imprisonment plus returning the money in cash and as assets. Not only ukubakaka not at all.Home affairs minister should go to jail when MMD loses Aerial and shikashiwa should also go to Mkobeko or Nyamuseche prisons. The man who prisided over kafupi’s case should also have his practice license revorked and go to chimbokaila for malpractice till he reviews how corrupt he has been and whose really behind the judgement.

  18. Big up to you your Highness Mwanachingwala.I salute you.You are the leaders we want. How I wish you were my chief!
Not these other puppet chiefs who are bought with brown envelopes….atase, shame on you cheap chiefs!

  19. # 17 you are very correct , many chiefs drove 4x4s , our Mwami is one of them. The point is that , there has been rampant misuse of public funds. Surely how does a Zambian president accumulate such a collosal amount of money. The head of state for world’s strongest economy USA has a total income of only $1.6m after 4years in office, this is what a president from one of the poorest countries in the world spends on clothes!!!! Yes most of us never went to school, but something is not right..

  20. Ka Chiluba ka chi colour nika kabwalala fye. But Chi Bwezani nacho? LPM must be turning in his grave. Somebody help that country.

  21. i can give him his money if i want. the only people in charge of the account are Regis phiri the Shushu boss and his boss who is R Kanitundila Banda. the rest are just yapping nonsense.

  22. Let know where that monies came from???? His wife is serving for receiving stollen goods. WHERE IS THE THIEF THAT GAVE HER THE GOODS?
