UTH Public Relations Manager, Pauline Mbangweta said yesterday that the condition of the former First Lady Mama Betty Kaunda who is admitted in the Intensive Care Unity (ICU) has remained critical.
Mama Betty Kaunda was admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH)’s intensive care unit last week on Tuesday for generalized chest pains.
And the condition of the two Patriotic Front Members of Parliament (MP) who were admitted yesterday to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) have improved but are still in hospital.
Ms Mbangweta said that the condition of the two parliamentarians have improved and are now admitted in high cost ward.
Ms. Jean Kapata of Mandevu and her Munali counterpart Mumbi Phiri were admitted to UTH Saturday.
The MPs were arrested on Friday together with seven others for honking and have since been charged for the conduct and are likely to appear in court soon.

As for 2 PF Mps I also wish them well and once they get discharged they should go to parliament and lobby more funding to improve ZP facitities such as cells and i am sure the rise in their BP was a result of the terrible cell conditions they found themselves in. #29, they did not fly her to South for two reason am sure, 1)they are not in support of the MMD and second and biggest reason is that Kaunda still believes in UTH, he is proud of what he and his colleagues built. He is a leader who believes in sharing with his countrymen. KK still does his medical at UTH, even when he was president, not a day do i remember hearing the new medical term ( or is it treatment) ” evacuated to South Africa” This term is now being taught at rigeway campus as a cure for knee problems and chilubas heart diseases!
