President Banda has wished the Zambia National Soccer Team good luck ahead of the next Africa Cup qualifier encounter against Egypt to be held on Saturday in Chililabombwe on the Copper belt.
He was speaking in Lusaka today when he met Stanbic Bank Chief Football Ambassador Abedi Pele who is in the country to present the AFCON Trophy at State House.
Meanwhile Stanbic Bank has donated K50million to the Zambia National Soccer Team to boost the morale of the team as they face Egypt this weekend.
The President said Chipoloplo Coach Herve Renard chose young but good players who have the vigor to win the game.
President Banda thanked Stanbic Bank for its efforts in bringing the trophy in Zambia and appealed to soccer fans to continue supporting the Chipolopolo Boys.
President Banda also thanked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for dispatching the trophy to the continent adding that this will motivate both the soccer fans and the national teams in particular.
And speaking earlier, Football Ambassador Abedi Pele said taking the trophy to different countries will bring soccer to their door steps and boost African Football.
The Football Ambassador said President Banda is a true leader who can take Zambia to greater heights in the world of football.
He thanked Stanbic Bank for honoring him as Ambassador of football to tour with the trophy.

Is this good luck or bad luck?
I don’t know why I don’t enjoy soccer anymore…
Oh Pele is in Zambia??? Nice. #1, let’s hope this is not bad luck for sure. We all know Kanitundila seems to attaract “bad” luck in the most unusual circumstances. Good luck Chipolopolo squad…make us all proud!
Ok i have lost track of the standings in Zambia’s group. What happens if we beat Egypt in this coming game? Does it bring back the world cup hope, or maybe that is shattered completely?
The more games the lose the better that way, there shall be no extra ordinary cash values drawn from tax payers supporting unworthy causes.
Insala ba Chipolopolo national team, how can they win??? You are just wishing them good luck but not planning on how find , create and build our players.. They need more exposure.. They also need to be traveling like you Mr RB..Â
