Immigrant Missionaries – The Mandate

Share

As in last week’s article (Acts 9:1-5), when Paul asked the Lord Jesus, “Who are you, Lord?”, the Lord answered him, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting,” and the next question was, “Lord, what do you want me to do?” In both instances he called Jesus Christ, Lord. He acknowledged His supreme authority and was ready to be subject to Him. In Luke 6:46, Jesus marveled and said, ”But why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?”

In this article we will dwell on Paul’s second question. We believe it could have two implications. The first is, what do you want me to do immediately and the second could mean, what do you want me to do in life. If you have chosen to be on pursuit to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection, then this is the next stage in your life, to know what He wants you to do. This does not mean that you will stop everything until you know the “will of God.” We believe that knowing the “will of God,” starts with simple obedience to what He has already reviewed in His word, such as “love your neighbour as yourself,” “Forgive one another…,” “Be holy…,” “Give and it shall be give…,” “No work, no eat,” and many other simple instructions. Why should God entrust us with ‘bigger’ plans that He has for us, if we cannot obey the day-to-day instructions that He has given us (Luke 16:10).

As Paul lived to hear the Lord answering this question, we must also endeavor to hear the answers to our personal question, “What do you want ME to do?” We have for a long time listened to what we and others want us to do but it’s time to hear from the Lord, of His plans (Jeremiah 11:29). Paul had made up his mind to live for Christ as long as he was on earth (Philippians 1:21) and was concerned about the needs of others (Philippians 1:23-24). This position can only be attained by the knowledge we have of the Lord and so the love of God will compel us to live for others.

We are living in a day and time where it’s all supposed to be about ‘me, myself and I.’ We must repent and come back to the place where we can live for others and in so doing, we do it to the Lord (Matthew 25:44-45).

  1. Do “Prosperity Preachers” Prey On Hope?

Proponents call it a biblically sound message of hope. Others say it is a distortion that makes evangelists rich and preys on the vulnerable. They say it has evolved from “it’s all right to make money” to it’s all right for the pastor to drive a Bentley, live in an oceanside home and travel by private jet.

“More and more people are desperate and grasping at straws and want something that will alleviate their pain or financial crisis,” said Michael Palmer, dean of the divinity school at Regent University, founded by Pat Robertson. “It’s a growing problem.”

  2. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. In the kingdom we have baby Christians, carnal Christians and mature Christians who know the voice of God and yield to it. Christians are at different levels in the revelation and knowledge of God. Jesus said the wind blows yet you know not where it comes from or goes, so is everyone born of the Holy Spirit. When someone is moving by the Holy Ghost, the baby or carnal Christians will not comprehend it. God is spirit, you cannot operate with him based on head or mental knowledge. You have to walk in pools of revelations, insight and illumination. You have to walk in His light and dimentions of the Holy Ghost. Otherwise you are still a baby in the Lord. Keep growing and avoid saying things you dont understand. God is real.

With due respect, I suppose you are not a child of God.

Jesus said unless you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God. Ask the Lord to forgive all your sins and ask him to make you his child, on account of the fact that Jesus died for your sins. Thereafter decide to live a Godly life. Choose to spend eternity with God.

In the bible you will learn that God owns the earth. He can give a person anything of this world. There are very rich people in the Bible – Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job, Solomon, etc and very powerful, influential and wealthy people such as Joseph and Daniel. God made them so. Even today, there are a lot of wealthy and rich men and women who fear God. A lot of these testify that God made them rich. Its about being stewards of God’s riches.

God loves all his peoples of this world including all those who have been indoctrinated into accepting and believing in the different doctrines including Christianity, Hinduism, Confucianism, Budhhism, Shinto, Islam, and the many more religions spread across the globe. God also loves the peoples of the so-called “UNDISCOVERED TRIBES” of the Amazonian Belt, The South Pacific, the Maoris, the Kiwis, all who had no opportunity to be exposed to religion as seen through your eyes.

Judge me by your yardstick, but your judgement only exposes your low levels of understanding of World Human Demographics, the coverage of some the so-called supreme religions and ultimately, the Huge Financial Con of modern times that most Megachurches have become

    1. The influence of Curses and good luck should be best be left for those in poverty stricken, underdeveloped third world countries who can not, up to date, link hard work with success and shoddy work with failure. If your “MEN OF GOD” have power to curse, let them curse those who are scrutinising their activities and those denying them an opportunity to visit their flock.
    2. Most Preachers receive money from their members on the pretext of using it to further the word of God. But most of this money ends up paying for the Preachers’ extravagant lifestyles and personal Bank Account. They start driving flashy cars, build mansions and buy private planes.
CAN WE HONESTLY CALL THIS FURTHERING GOD’S WORK?? TO ME ITS CLEAR DECEPTION WITH CRIMINAL INTENT
