THE MMD has said it is not shaken with the recent loss in the Kasama Central parliamentary by-elections to the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) and that it will be concentrating on re-organising the party.
Acting MMD spokesperson, Mike Mulongoti said the party was not shaken because it was aware that it gave the opposition a good run during the campaigns, which caused them sleepless nights.
Mr Mulongoti, who is Works and Supply Minister, in an interview yesterday said despite the loss, the MMD was confident that it was still in control of most provinces in the country.
“As a party we are not shaken about the loss because that is the game and we will now concentrate on re-organising our party.
‘‘How can we be shaken when the opposition were spending sleepless nights fighting for survival,’’ he asked.
He said the MMD would continue to base its campaigns on issues and not on personalities and reiterated that it was commited to contributing to the development of the country.
The loss of elections was nothing to be ashamed of because the MMD party believed in a democratic process unlike other parties which would have raised alarm if they had lost.
Recently, PF leader Michael Sata is reported to have said President Rupiah Banda and former president Chiluba were licking their shame over the MMD defeat in the recently-held Kasama by-elections.

Always changing the language with every occassion. Before the election you Mulongoti and one George Kunda were saying that PF had lost ground in N/P. Bakabua stick
You are not shaken right! Why then did Kanitundila spend 4 days camped in Kasama dishing out taxpayers money with his entire cabinet when most of them including you kamulongoti were just sleeping during rallies. Its you who were spending sleepless nights
fi mambala fi mmd namupwa kuchitafye admit moreover northen is for PF so shut up ka mulongotiiiiiiii
Bakaamba ba Silly Citizen, sorry Senior Citizen, ati shani nomba bakaamba kabili ba RB bali ba solva ku Kasama, leteni ilyashi mudala
The Zambian democracy in Zambia will keep thriving with multiple opposition parties rumbling but without Change of Government from MMD until after 2011.But with certainty 2016 may usher in a new political order without today’s frontline noise makers from both the ruling MMD and opposition. Not even those in the civil service will find a platform.I foresee a breed of Zambian Diaspora structured leadership moving in for a Generational change leadership. The likes of HH with their unpatriotic motto of i will make Zambia ungovernable if you don’t give me power will either relegated to dustbins of missed opportunity and failure or purged by patriotism.
Ba RB ichalo chabakanga ukuteka. There is total confusion in the nation. Shortage of fuel another crisis.
Ba Chiti mukulu what is your comment since your financier MMD has lost the elections. You swallow you words. thats why its not good for chiefs to take sides
It has been a Shame just Admit it Ka Mulongoti
mulongoti wacilamofye ci color cobe. Its like the other guy said wrote in the paper about bwezani. You have to be diplomatic each time you think of opening you filthy mouth.
Well spoken Boss. We are not shaken and just goes to show how mature and strong our party is. This was an opposition stronghold and we knew that. I hope in future the Opposition learn to accept defeat as we have and not concocting some urban legend stories like rigging and VJ master rigger theories.
Zambia deserves a better opposition that needs to accept when they have failed shot than incite people with VJ rigging conspiracy theories. Zambians deserve the truth. And the truth is we lost in Kasama and and we accepted that and moved on. No rigging theories. Lets meet in Solwezi next month for another battle and we are fired up and ready to go.
Mulongoti, sometimes it is better not to open your mouth. it seems you like to yap yap too much.

#5 thats funny….Zambian Democracy in Zambia…..Where else? may I ask do you find Zambian Democarcy?
No need to be shaken, MMD won an election in Serenge with such a wide margin. They have made in roads in the two northern provinces while Sata may win some votes in Sothern Province because of the pact. Believe me Hichilema regrets joining politics, one more election and he will be broke, bust and disgusted.
Fools are never shaken even when they see danger coming. Before Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD by the Romans, a man went preaching for 7 full years warning the people and their leaders that Jerusalem would be destroyed but they turned a blind eye and rewarded him with insults. Alas, they realised when it was too late that they have been doomed. I see the movement for mad dogs going the same path.
nidyonko iyii! mufwilefye mwaishiba ati inkoloko this time balimigoona! ukutemwa cheap material not knowing ati cheap is expensive! ngamwashitile ROLEX not RB, this time inkoloko Kufwa!
inshita yalilubana saaana!
I still recall when Kamalondo was strongly misleading Kaunda that the whole Copperbelt was under KK when infact NOT.
Won’t this scenario repeat itself? At times it is very difficult to accept defeat or truth (as others put it – the truth always hurts).
Not shaken, you should be shaken! Well done to the people of Kasama Central. In theory this also means that Chiti mukulu does not have the backing of his people since he advised them to vote MMD. How will he now work with local MP having opposed him? These are questions that ChitiMukulu should have thought of before venturing into Politics. Perhaps its time for him to consider his position?? I hope GBM is a bigger man and works to create unity within the constituency.
Mike (shifting position to always good for himself) Mulongoti, Michaeal Kaingu and Kenneth (I will resign if there is a fuel shortage) Gonga spent sleepless nights as they are used to day dreaming when it comes to reality.
People lets learn to dwell on important issues. Have just come to understand how important INDENI OIL is to this Country. I just hope we will support and guard it jelously. Lets find money and improve the efficiency of the Refinery because its very clear now that without the Oil Refinery zambia can have serious fuel problems. Lets not take chances but lets attend to our own Refinery.
Kasama was a training ground, lets meet in N/west province.I hope all the goons making din will still be around to attest to this.See u after the erections in solwezi.Yes erections !!
Kalijo yayi a Mulongoti. Mwana wamuzako akachita, uziti, Wachita. Have you forgoten the saying that says, ” Once beaten, twice shy”? Mwaluza chabe. Bembas say, “Uwawa, tabula akabepesho”. Akulikitani agulugufe imwe. Mwaiona bola. Those are the bennefits of having Nyama soya as your stubborn President. You haven´t had it all yet. Wait 2011 you will be no more. RB will go back to be headman Chipalamba farms.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act – George Orwell.
KAMUTU KUYIPA KA MULONGOTI!
Mulongoti and MMD Boot Licker- SUCCESS LIES IN THE ABILITY TO ADAPT, TO ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY, TO HAVE A SHARED VISION, TO EMPOWER OTHERS AND TO NEGOTIATE SUCCESSIFULLY. I see none of these in MMD starting from the RB down to Shikapwasha. All they know is confrontation without first stoping to study the situation at hand. All they know is to use the ZP to silence other forgetting that one day they too will be OTHER PEOPLE.
Ha ha ha! When the results for 2011 are announced, you bet Mulongoti is going to do one of two things: (1) Faint and die of shock or (2) turn around and claim he was actually Pact all along. Knowing the opportunistic hyena he is, I bet he is going for the latter option because only HIV can stop his heart and that it will berfore 2011.
There is nothing to fear except the persistent refusal to find out the truth, the persistent refusal to analyze the causes of happenings – Dorothy Thompson

Well then Mulongoti if you arent shaken why not just shut your trap! Accept defeat and move on you noti ifyakulanda landa. Well done to the pact.
#13 Zedan33, good observation hahahaha looks like #5 had a heavy meal yaka nsima pa lunch. Abe ikandi.
Simon when did MPs start work. have you forgotten they are just a sleeping lot in the house. I can see Mr GBM snoring all his way to the gratuity which luckly for him wont be long coming, just two years. Paramount Chiti does not need to worry about GBM, he wont see him untill 2011. For all it counts even the people of Kasama wont see GBM untill 2011. Remember Chishamba he couldnt even dare wait and face the people in 2011.
No28 & 29…..if you hate Sata just come in the open. When did Sata say that? Teta mashimba had been telling lies and you guys out there believe. Can you tell me when that was said by sata during his campaigns?? You shuold me ashemed man …who can believe you, this is what I also heard from one person that Sata would chase away the Namwangas, mambwes and lungus of northern zambia. What a d.u..l.l thinking. WHICH PERSON HAS POWER TO CHASE OTHERS? SHAME ON YOU MAN.
Fellow Zambians, I don’t think there’s any more to be said about the dirty, filthy, stinking oilitics at home. Evrything’s bkoken – bi lobehile, mi by’a nunka, bi tezi lisila. Can we entrust the MMD with our National Constitution if they can’t follow their own small constitution? Words fail me. Ni katezi, n’a pumula from now on. Ki busihu, sechaba sa hesu. Mulena a n’a be ni mina.
iwe kamulongoti just keep quiet.you are such a bootlicker only interested in your pocket.you are in terrible situation as MMD and suffice to say you are finished.
33 Wisdom, its abit unfair to paint all MP’s with the same brush. There are some genuine hardworking and dedicated MP’s out there. They may be a handful, but they are there. This is GBM’s first term so lets see how he does. As for the gratuity, GBM does not need it. Why do you think RB giving money in Kasama did not work?
#33 Wisdom.. You need to know what time it is.. You may not believe it but Zambians, black Zambians, are becoming wealthy and there are several genuine $$$$ millionaires.. Ikalisha uko kwine… Ukapapa Sana nga wa boma pa ZED… Uyu muntu GBM ulelanda po ninshimbi panshimbi…. That K450m ($100,000) gratuity is pocket change to him.. One of his business operations, Germins Motorways has a fleet of over 50 Volvo scania $300,000 a piece buses operating country wide.. ont even talk about His milling operations, GBM brand. or his other business engagements. ikalisha mwana…natusela ko pa Zed a bit.. But Ba fi colour MMD na correuption yabo want to take us back… Like Simon said why do you think RB giving money didn’t.. Chalimu matcha.. Statelmate…
Mpombo has been suspended
Mulongoti and the MMD are behaving like the legendary ostrich. They are in denial and this attitude will come to haunt them very soon.
