Government says a lot of work has been done to respond to the concerns raised by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) when it banned Zambian planes from flying in the European Union (EU) zone.
Communications and Transport Minister Geoffrey Lungwangwa says government, through the department of Civil Aviation has taken a number of training programs as a way of responding to some of the issues raised in the ban.
Prof. Lungwangwa was speaking in an interview with ZAINS in Lusaka today. He said some members of staff in the department of civil Aviation are currently in Oklahoma in the United States of America, Kenya, and Singapore undergoing various training concerned with aviation.
The Minister also said government has responded to the ICAO’s concerns in addressing the issues of licensing, inspection of air crafts and air safety on Zambian planes.
Zambian planes were recently banned from flying into the EU Zone.

Are you gay or something, you’re posting on wrong thread. Back to the topic, the only Zambian plane that flies outside Africa as far as i know is Presidential Challenger .
#2 Am showing the times we are in.
….when Democracy becomes Tyranny…
which Zambian planes are they banning?
#1 take that shit somewhere else we are not interested. They must bring back Zambia Airways
Apart from RB’s plane which Zambia airplanes go to the EU? I am a bit confused on this whole issue and ban. That challenger should be banned on health and safety grounds cus the amount of carbon foot prints that s w i n e is leaving on the enviroment is not even funny. Let RB go green and ride a bike to work like Daivd Cameron and others do. HA! Can you imagine Zambia politicans riding bikes to work in the name going green, save the enviroment like mps do here in UK???!!!! That day pigs will fly!
It is interesting how common sense can sometimes elude people with a responsibility. I would have expected the minister to elaborate which Zambian planes use European airspace. To the best of our knowledge we do not have planes that traverse European airspace. It is possible that there are “Nigerian Airlines” that are registered in Zambia. The nation needs to know. It is one one thing to say we are addressing the concerns and have sent people to go train in Oklahoma. Besides, what is the problem? Aircraft airworthiness or poorly trained personnel?
This was an another industry successfully built by Kaunda (UNIP) Zambia Airways. Mismanaged and destroyed by MMD (20 yrs)… . this resulted in a loss of all the trained pilots, mechanics etc being made jobless. Does the MM plan to build a national airline industry again? How many Zambian pilots, managerial postions do they plan to employ? Does Zambia still train the younger generation in this field? This is linked to tourism considering Zambia has the most beautiful sights in the world like Victoria Falls….. why is a national airline not a priority? Who has been in charge of the ministry of transportation within the last few years? That person should not be running another dept …..
# 8 I agree with you
MMD has not brought any development to our country. KK’s govt had better plans for our county than these High Jokers that we have allowed to run our country. It brings a lot of sadness when you hear a speech from Nyama Soya, its like he go is to fight with the post and anyone who doesn’t agree with him. The reason why I’m bring Nyama Soya in this discussion is becoz he is the foundation of our govt and any bad decisions made by any department shall be answered by him. No matter how much training they might go throgh, its of no use if they do not have a mission and goal of what they want to achieve. Only God knows where we are heading to….
RB’s Challenger is a rented South African plane, what Zambain plane can reach the EU?
#1 Chapwa:
No region whether Islam, Christianity, etc, does accept homosexuality. Homos need help just like mad people. It is un natural and should never be accepted in Zambia. Men must be shown how to enjoy women and vice versa.
Anyway what is your interest in this abomination?
these guys are for jokes……which planes can be banned when we sont even have an airline.
shame 45 year of self rule, we dont have planes that can be accepted by the west
Shhh! I am told the Zambian planes that are being referred to as banned are those being flown by super Nfitis’ at night. One such nfiti has only been described by the tip of his big nose spotted several times in EU air space, “Akulu Mpuno”. This is the trouble of bringing back old people who had long retired, the Munkombwes’ etc. These fly by night planes will not stop!
How many planes does Zamb ia even have?
Beyaaches!!!!!!!!!!!!
