Attorney-General Mumba Malila says the disbanding of the Task Force on corruption will not affect cases that are still before the courts of law.
Mr. Malila also says the move will not affect the on-going investigations which where initiated by the task force on corruption.
The Attorney-General says corruption cases that the Task Force was prosecuting and those under investigations before its disbandment will be ably dealt with by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Mr. Malila told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that the transformation of the Task Force into a department in the ACC does not mean the corruption cases it was pursuing would be done away with.
He said the ACC will take up the cases and ensure that they are dealt with in the usual independent manner that it has always carried out its mandate.
The Attorney General said government will continue providing the necessary support to the commission to ensure the fight against corruption was effectively undertaken in the country.
There have been growing concerns from some quarters of society that the disbanding of the Task Force on corruption would have a negative effect on some cases which are still before the courts of law and those under investigations.

Who do they think they are hoodwinking?
This is R.U.B.B.I.S.H Mr Attorney General. We know whare this is ending at. get the FTJ case completely out of this whole situation. Go right ahead and enjoy yourselves on our tax. You will see what will happen to you soon.
Cover up thats all this is about . I wonder what has happened to the word shame. Malila has no shame whatsoever. MMDs wickedness has gotten out of hand.
You fool..you think we are dull???mukadabwa bafikala u will all be arrested one day. You can fool some people sometime but you cant fool all the people all the time.
Mr Malila (Crying or eating well) are u telling us that all the personnel that were attached from various security wings hav also been transferred to the ACC? if not then forget, ACC wont achieve anything alone. Task Force was a hybrid body and had the best minds. this ACC is nonse and wil not take us anywhere
What about the new cases? They are not going to be prosecuted! Malila also bootliking, very inetresting. There is so much corruption but we have not heard of any new cases opened up yet. So this is dead end for any possible prosecution of GRZ, especially ministers. Just check, the case involving Kapoko had high level figures implicated but these people cant even say a word! This thing called Shirek will eventually bring ZED to its nees. The thing is Shirek does not even know how bad things will be
Iwe Malila kapuli you surely think Zedians are so dull that that they can buy such cheap crap? Not all days are sundays!
Interesting and saddening indeed. From the time this man got into the way of Dora Siliya something has changed about him. I remain guessing whether he is still speaking as a principled attorney we once had and would rely on or RB threatened the hell of him such that now he is operating as a “Robot”. Clearly there is no way cases wouldn’t be affected by the disbanding of Task force. Even if the professionals who were handling cases on corruption were to continue with these cases the truth is they will have to report to a new boss. The question is who will be the new boss and whose interests is he gonna be serving?i dont really have to number what the changes that will affect these cases for the attorney General to understand the his utterances baseless or atleast leave one wondering.
No 7. Ewe Chikala, Ninebo uleba at Kapuli……nakupingila
Mr Nkole ought to be given the Jo of this ACC new fusion if it is to have any credibility
He was feared, and he did his job, a very competent man
# 10. Veteran, you see the effect of disbanding the task force that you are applouding has the effect that we as zambians do not care, belive in the fight agaist corruption and now think it is unfaire to chase pipo for corruption. That fight even if it cost so much was beyond monetary value, as you see that disbanding the fight has caused much apathy. GRZ just stop the curruption fight and we will support you. let it be a free for all. dog eats dog.
Iwe kapuli kobe Veteran e iwe wine Senior Citizen tefyo?
You are just wasting your time as your days are numbered as we approach 2011.
From his body language and verbiage, it is clear that the man is deeply biased in the ongoing contentious debate about this issue He is so raptly insistent, that before he realizes it he will find himself walking into a mudhole produced by MMD and stuck in the puddle of corruption…
malila…whom are you fooling dad. just shut your mouth.
Mighty Malila, how you have fallen from pedestral. Listen to yourself, it is like saying there is no fuel shortage when drivers are queuing
Interesting.. now Kongo is fearing to talk about fuel, Kunda is fearing to talk about his judiciary, Someone about his journeys!
Malila musuma. Koma olimo daddy. Is he married?
Scotfree- Kalumba and others will be just to gain RB some vote in Luapula. Mwana we Luapulans did not benefit from the loot and also dont think we abet crime.
Ba Malila, i always held you in high esteem but you have really let me down. am so speechless when it comes to you. As a result, anything coming from you now is just worthless and not even considering. You can do better than this. But i suppose you need the kwacha cover to enable you live and not merely exist! What a waste of brains.
shame on Malila. His time will also come
